Central Vienna is cheap as & is not expensive. A sleep 6 apartment in there ranges from 400 Euro a week to 600 max...ish. That's less than a hundred bucks a person in the most beautiful city in the world. G'wan...go there, stay in a hostel for 10 euro a night & enjoy the music. It's amazing... It is SOOOOO beautiful, you almost stop breathing...

I have never seen the musician Andre Rieu live in concert,but my god how i would love to,i have worked in Vienna in a place called Ganserndorf & Gerasdorf about 20 km out side the capital,it was a truly nice place but very expensive,but overall i would like to win the lottery and live in centraal Vienna.

god how i love andre rieu's music, it makes me feel happy and peaceful and when i'm really stressed out this is the music i play to bring me back to normality. This is a total insult to J Strauss. Rieu turns his waltzes and all the other classical pieces he ruins into bland synthetic robotic lift music.He dumbs down the original orchestration into a kitch travesty. This is heresy-it is like turning a Rembrandt into a table mat.

PLEASE listen to the Vienna Philharmonic instead and you will understand what I mean!!

Listen to Carlos Kleiber do the bleu Donau and you will understand.Rieu robs the music of all its original subtle phrasing.

Andre's choice of music is heartlifting.

He's gone back to music of the Salon Orchestras of 100 years ago which really sturred the emotions.  I attended one of his concerts last month April 2008 and was transported back to another time when this music was so popular especially in Europe.
