  • neo-geo version is better...

  • i play this game on xbox...i like snk games....need art of fighting on xbox marktplace

  • the thing that this video doesn't show is the differances that actually matter: the snes one is a bit faster but is alot easier... the AI makes way too many mistakes even on the highest difficulty.. the Neo Geo one is prone to lock ups if you are running the CD version. the Snes one has an arranged soundtrack as well as several Kameos of AOF characters in the backgrounds. the Neo geo one has bigger hitboxes.

  • @BillyCauseyjr Wait what. The SNES was incapable of arranged soundtracks and the AOF cameos are there in the NeoGeo one as well, including a playable Ryo.

  • @Lioyd1rving ... you must be thinking redbook audio when you think arranged...

the soundtracks are "arranged" in that they redid the idi instruments and made a sort of "snes remix" I have no other way to describe it than that.... just check out some videos of the ost from that version.

I never knew the AOF characters were in the neo geo one... I couldn't get them to work on my neo CD version.

Anyone ever play the sega mega cd verions? I just realised that it exists.

  • the super nes was,nt made my snk

The neo geo was a more strong machine than the super nes

The title is misleading with vs

  • Both versions are spectacular.

  • I think the SNES one was sick that day.

  • takara es comer mierda

  • the good old days :-)

I like the background music :-P

  • good job!

  • Picked this up (FFSpecial) for the SNES a few years back... TERRIBLE conversion, NOT in comparison to the MVS/AES or CD, but in comparison to the wonderful earlier conversion of FF2 on the SNES! FFSpecial (as you can see) looks pretty poor in comparison to the NEO, however, I'd like to think that if you saw the same video comparison between NEO FF2 & SNES FF2, that you would agree that the gap wasn't quite as marginal and that SNES FF2 was a valiant effort by Takara (Tamsoft?). Cheers everyone!

  • Monolith Corp did the actual conversion for three Fatal Fury games for the SNES, Takara simply published them. They also did the two Art of Fighting games (including the Japan-only AoF2) and Samurai Shodown). I think they did the World Heroes, but I'm not sure.

  • I love Takara for doing the US publishing. Box art's great, so's the manual cover and the inner pages - all color and good art.

    Go Takara!!

PS I own Fatal Fury 1 & 2 and Samurai Shodown for the Super Nintendo (and I am looking for Fatal Fury Special - Heeeeelp!!!!!!)

  • and thats why i own a neo geo ,i did grow up with a snes but now i got a job and cash ,i can afford the things i wanted as a kid ,neo geo best games company ever

  • @darthmiike same here. when i was a kid i saw a review in a german video games magazine of FF Special for the neo geo and i wondered if i would ever get this game and system. fast forward into 2011 and i have a neo geo with over 30 games that i love to hook up and play. every time i get pissed off with corrupted save files, installs, load times and waiting in online lobbys on my PS3 i go back to my 16-bit systems and don't have to worry about that kind of crap. And Duck's theme in FFS is wow...

  • I grew up playing the Snes version, I don't like the arcade version as much

  • The arcade version is better by a long shot but i'm glad it came 2 super cause back then I didn't have a neo geo or the arcade version

  • I remember play the crap out of the SNES version. Arcade version is the shit, but for some reason I like some of the music (especially Terry's stage)better.

  • While the arcade version is much, much better. The team did a damned good job porting the game to the SNES. It's got 90% of the graphics and animation, and did a good job with the sound. And, most important of all, it has the same feel.

  • aguante la super nintendo

  • aracde is still good, but kudos to snes for making a decent port for a 16-bit at the time they pushed the system to the max to get that game to come close to the aracde. But I also gotta admit for a strange reason I like the snes BGM a bit more than the actual arcade one especially Big Bear and Duck King's themes they added some cooler sounds

  • It's a good port for the SNES

  • Fatal Fury special for the neo-geo/arcade is definitely the best version of the game.

  • Amen to that!

  • god, just play the sega cd version.

  • the arcade version is supreme

  • The Neo CD version was superior

  • Superior that's for sure! But the loading time takes so long!!

  • Some people enjoy long loading times. Leave them be.
