@star18 That was back when special effects involved artists that were dedicated to their craft. Now we have computer nerds rendering crappy digital creatures because they don't get away from behind a computer long enough to observe how the natural world actually looks.
anyone who is ''true Star Wars fan'' appreciates the old trilogys...however Star Wars concieved to be about the golden age of warior knights.....jedi knights, and no trilogy expresses that like the new trilogy...the classic trilogy are fantasic and gold classics, however if they had screened the new trilogy back when the classics were released...this trilogy wouldn't of gone anywhere..due to action and story themes''
@reformedfruit The cantina scene was perfect originally, because it had real costumes that were artfully designed. Why the special editions added fake-looking and poorly designed CG creatures makes absolutely no artistic sense.
Great Doc. I have'nt seen this since I was a wee lad. I loved seeing the Wampa in the 20th ann. edition and hope that one day mabie George could piece back together some of the Wampa Subplot back in the picture. I think that would be great.
@undeadnightorc Technology has progressed, but for all their technological advantages, the new movies don't really look that much better than the old ones.
It's like with music: Bach didn't have synthesizers, computers and microphones, but no one would say that his music is somehow inferior to what we produce today.
no i dont think so.. Your right it looks like him, but i think its just an film operator. Back then he was a stop motion animator and Dennis mureen was camera operator on stop motion animations on Empire.

If you worked on this movie, you probably:
1. Are a legend in your field
2.Live very comfortably
3.Can't stand the new Trilogy.

Hooray for the days of genuine artists creating actual characters and aliens instead of the fake-looking CGI stuff...

I appreciate the criticism. The original material is in sync. Youtube compression once uploaded damaged the file.
I hope you enjoyed the content.
