sonny schmidt never died of cancer!!! my uso got locced up for some dirt he did in australia and due to the fact that he was supplement dependent he slowly withered... a true playa in da game!!!! gave many samoans around the world a second look at themselves to picc ur ass up and do something with ur life!!! my mother raised this cat and i never even met the uso!!! true inspiration!!!

@SamoanSoilder He died 25/1/2004 from cancer. I think he may have been in prison when the tumor was discovered and then let out for humanitarian reasons.

When his career took off in the states he lived with Milos Sarcev for a while. As Sonny had a Weider contract Milos got him to pay for everything and introduced him to nubain.

In around 2001 he met Tony Mokbel and was conned into organising a cocaine deal out of Mexico. He got caught and did some time.

Nice man but also very gullible.

@SamoanSoilder Couldn't tell you the specifics, but he was the sort of guy that liked to please others to his own detriment. My sister worked with him at a nightclub in Melbourne many years ago and she describes him as likeable but not very bright. He also liked the party scene too much and this no doubt effected his training and placings.
