I concur on the roll-off thing. I find it charming, though. Gives the CD (presumably) sort of a vinyl flavour by comparison. I also think it's great the 6L6G has been reissued which makes finding replacements easier if or when they had their time.
They definitely have the vintage stank! There is another set of these amps arriving here tomorrow for service. Looking foreward to the project!! I love the way these amps sound!
They are setup to have a nice rolloff at 7Khz.If used for HiFi You have to change the feedback to restore them to flat response.Get rid of the 27K resistor off the feedback winding of the output transformer.Go higher in value(100K) and a small shunt capacitance (100pf) to ground.This is not perfect but it's a good starting point.
Those are the bomb! Are those plugged into the wall with a regular old wall plug or are you using a variable power supply? Next video can you show where the "speaker out" wires attach, which screw to attach the "pre-amp in" to? Great Job!
