  • People who doesnt know the hstory of Jeff take a look at his 2 records with malmsteen...he also did the voice of marc walberg in the movie rock star for the oes who saw it...the real voice of mark were Jeff"and he has a higher range than freddie but thats not important.

just check it out the range and versatility of Jeff...

  • Really awesome performance, this is one of my favorite songs ever i might add

  • Damn, I want to sing like that :D

  • great vocals man

  • great song by a great artist....

  • Please sing with Queen!

  • @Gregsynth yeeeeeeeeeeeeesssss fuck off paul rodger

  • Hahaha!

  • this guy sings it really good...not like that crap i just heard from Blind Guardian...!

  • guys i tell you freddy never did this song live in that way, always changin note becouse we know he was good in studio, but in live he used to loose his voice and head voice, the best note he could reach in live was a si bemolle , and this guy is super good

  • yes, jeff sings as in the studio version of this song ^^

  • Well, Freddie normally did go up to Bb4 live, but check out the Crazy Tour, he hits B4's and C5's.

  • that's is not completely true. freddie didn't use to sing high notes live because roger taylor used to sing in the backing vocal the high notes. the fact that freddie don't sing high notes doesn't mean that he couldn't. just check improptu. besides what makes fredddie's voice the best ever isn't his fantastic range... it's his timbre

  • This guy is great, alright, but he sings Queen in lower pitch, for half an hour only, and chooses the songs that would fit his voice. Freddie was aware that he had to carry on with a whole Queen show for two hours or more, moving thru the whole stage up and down, taking care of the keyboards, and 10 shows the previous days and another 10 ahead in a month! Scott Soto wouldn't hold it for two nights in a row! I still think he's great, but come on, don't imply He's better than Freddie, !

  • I'm sure if Freddie had to do a one off night like this one he'd be just fine, just look at how he went for just about all the high notes in Live aid...plus the first night of the magic tour he got the high C in we are the champions, which is obviously right at the end of the show.

  • very nicw ....we also cover this

    QUEEN FOR A DAY

  • Best Rock Singer back in the Eighties, make a search on Ricing Force here on U tube , Ricing Force live in Japan, then you know what I mean

  • no ma--- yo que soy fan de queen... la neta me gusto esto.. y la voz se adapta bien .. buen cantante,...

  • Awesome cover, amazing singer

  • for everybody that don't recognize him... he was yngwie malmsteen's vocalist

  • Both Queen fans

  • Jeff Scott Soto is one of the most greatest singer in the entire world, wonderfoul and powerfoul voice.

  • he did a great job singing this song, very nice!

  • no one should compare....we just have our preferences....i love the way JSS can take a song(anybodys) and deliver it with style and passion....the passion blows me away.

  • JSS IS AWESOME.I would rather listen to him sing QUEEN than Paul Rogers.Don't get me wrong Paul's got a great voice but not for QUEEN.I've loved JSS voice since he sang with Malmsteen.

  • hardrfastr: I'd have to agree with you! Nothing wrong with Paul Rodgers (he's got a good voice), I just think JSS would do a better jobe with Queen...

  • he's pretty good, but doesn't have the massive range. Should the American Idol guy be given a go?

  • great jeff amazing tribute to freddie as always!!!thanx jeff!!!

  • i like it : )

  • Very Good!!!

  • Man, this guy is awesome!...not to replace Fred of ocurse, because it would be a replacement and this is not what the Queen survivors are looking for! Long live Queen and Paul Rodgers!

  • ok, his voice is ok and all, but nobody can sing queen. not even close. except queen of course.

  • JSS isn't trying to replace Freddie, he's just covering the man's great songs.

  • never said he was. i was just pointing out that his version is good, but i prefer mercurys.

  • I know, but you have to admit that JSS does a good job. Freddie was better, but this version is still good...

  • Actually, Freddie would never have hit all the high notes live.....he used to rearrange the melody instead of straining his voice......ths guy can hit all the notes.....just give the version on Live Killers a listen and you'll know what I mean.

  • anita: you are so right, this guy can hit them notes!

  • on the other hand, you talk like live killers is the only show that performed spread your wings. He doesn't always rearrange 'cause he had problems with the notes. There are recordings of a more studio accurate preformance

  • Ok , forget about live killers.....there are numerous otehr live recordings of other songs and it was quite common for im to do this, I'm not critising him but merely pointing out the fact that what he could spend getting just right in the studio with a rested voice he wouldn't attempt live.....give the Live at the Hammersmith 1975 a listen and you'll hear him doing it all over the place.

  • That's because Freddie had a throat issue that prevented him from over-using his high notes on live performances, in order to prevent damage to his voice.

  • He had vocal nodes, but that's not really surprising considering how many packs he smoked a day.....

  • Well, Jeff doesn't have to do it for a whole tour, for two hours, and in the right key. Freddie knew he had to, that's why he offered the audience what he was better at, bright performance. It's not all about singing high! No one like Freddie

  • Tyhis man can sing anything...love his voice.

  • such a great voice...

  • Just love it! Best Queen cover I ever heard.

  • Wonderful. I like Paul Rodgers, but I would've liked to see him join Brian and Roger... Not only he's a real Queen fan, but he probably is the best singer on the planet, right now.

  • Wow, great!!

*Guitarman, take easy. Be simple like Brian May.

  • no its not the same ton, unfortunatly...but this man is fucking good, i dont doubt that he could sing in the original, but not in the DVD recording, he was probably worried about doing a great show, no mather the ton of the music.

i think is half a ton lower. not certain

  • wow pretty good man greatest tribute vioce i heard thats even close to freddies

  • This is so amazing! But it's the same tone of the original song?

    Someone give me an answer,please

  • I would say this is like 2 tones below original song...

  • I'll tell you what... not as good as freddie, but without a doubt this guy does the best queen covers about - absolutely fantastic - he can totally pull it off!!!

  • He can pull it off, great talent and not every body can sing the Queen songs (covers) like JSS.

  • This is an amazing video. Soto can sing anything and everything. He really is an excellent singer and deserves so much more attention than he gets.

  • qcluvthehair: I agree, he can sing anything and everything - he's just amazing.

  • @qcluvthehair so true and a great ass too xD

  • @qcluvthehair

True. true. Awesome singer...and very underrated.

  • great post.fantastic version of john deacon's song

  • Jeff did Freddie proud on this one !

  • well.. he could win american idol easily ;)

check out the Malmsteen 80's work with that guy singing

  • Way to go, Jeff! Always liked this guy -- he was also great with Malmsteen.

  • ппц он лучше чем Пол Роджерс!Брайн,Роджер возмите его в группу!!Он один может петь ПОЧТИ как Фредди!

  • Thanks for your comment man, very interesting read! ;o)

  • @lexilyn

He asked Bryan and Roger to take JSS as a vocalist.

    Try to learn smthg. :-)

  • @lexilyn учи русский, узнаешь много нового :D

Soto is a great singer, love his voice. He's much better than Rodgers.

  • Hell i'd have liked to hear a vocal duet with freddie...simply amazing!

  • Good f'n job

  • este tipo tiene una voz fenomenal y sabe rockear pero se esfuerza mucho

  • JSS is a great singer, indeed. Long live.

  • ぶらぼー

  • mighty,mighty great, SoHot!

    hahaha,i like that!

  • "I guarantee JSS would sound even more amazing in the studio." I meant more amazing than this live performance, NOT more amazing than Freddie.

  • Why must everyone make comparisons? First of all this is live. I guarantee JSS would sound even more amazing in the studio. Secondly, this is Freddie Mercury we're talking about. There's just no comparing ANYONE to the man.

  • Apart from Steeeeve Perry :)

  • nice job dude!!!

  • a top class singer. but now way he could ever get near to freddie's timbre.

hhmm... the key is somewhat lower than the original. is it?

  • I think it's impossible to sing like the original in D(and with the original emotion)...if somebody knows anyone can do it...let me hear it(even if for my ego it's better if I'll never know it)

  • He's no freddie mercury, but nice job nonetheless.

He's singing downtuned either 1/2 or 1 full step.

  • Damn, he has such a sexy voice! Who am I kidding? He has a sexy EVERYTHING!!!

  • tremenda voz tremenda banda el deberia ser el sucesor del dios freddy ...

  • jeff scott soto rockss is a legend singer fools you have no idea so many creeps

  • true... the song its obviously down...

only a few can sing like freddy...

anyway... i was hearing and i like the cover...

  • guys, great voice, but consider this is not the original tone of the song..it is half tone down from the original i think

  • Jeff can sing the way Freddie did on the records but not live. Not complaining about Freddie but sayin Jeff is fantastic. And I´m a Queen´s fan of couse.

  • Jeff don't make a single move freddie did.

he stands still and sing...and surely he reaches notes clearly...

    Not the frontman freddie was..

    And I!!!

    am a queen fan

  • are you an idiot? hes doing a cover for the song..he doesnt say "no i will sing and move like freddie" everyone has hes own style..

    queen ftw

  • Can i play with you Jeff!?!?!?lol

    Vince

  • sweet voice man

  • OMG!! I am in LOVE!!!♥♥

  • That guys got some fucking range to his voice alright.Sweet.

  • Excellent!!!

Search here for "Great king rat/ Son and daughter - Opera". Very nice covers by this Chilean band. They´re not a cover band but they always include one or two Queen songs in thier shows. Enjoy!

  • the guitarist is amazing !

  • JSS is a great singer, indeed. Long live.

  • What do you call a good solo?

  • Absolutely love jeff's voice! Check out his work with his real band, talisman. Journey is wasting his talents...

  • god i remember jss from yngwie, saw some stuff on youtube and can't believe how talented he is, fucking amazing. well different from his yngwie days!

  • spread your wings, more like spread your cheeks JSS....OWWWWWW!!!

  • LMFAO!!!

  • wow, almost as good as Queen

  • "Jeff Scott SoHOT" <- hilarious! And so fitting. :-)

  • NICE

  • Ooooh yeah! I think he needs to change his name to Jeff Scott SoHOT!

  • Think this is another hot-one you will enjoy...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ShVDALT8CgI
