  • usa government has failed their country over and over and over and Bush has no sincerity...they all act responsible and serious about debate once the world starts falling apart and it's politically acceptable, f-em

  • He should run for President !

  • I love this man.

  • True conviction? More like jumping on the bandwagon. Both parties are sheep, and our unimformed public deserves it's fate.

  • Hagel is the single greatest threat to the thought police in our country who reside in both political parties. They will never allow him to advance towards Presidential contender status.

  • The sad part is that in the end, nobody will do nothing at all.

  • I think the message that people should learn from this video is not "pro" or "anti" iraq war, but that its necessary to have a debate on a decision of putting americans into harms way; its the definition of democracy.

  • The meaning of this quote is to keep an eye on your enemies, keep them closer in view than your friends, for your friends arent the ones out to get you, and an excellent movie to watch is Iraq for Sale. We are living in an economic era ran by defense contractors and oil companies.

  • Dont forget, Hagel was CEO of EE&S, which is part of the voter fraud in Ohio, (Diebold, Sequoia)voting machines that mal functioned magically in 2000,2004 Presidential elections.

  • 1 million dollars says hagel will run for president, and his platform is to make a name for himself backstabing the president, troops, and freedom.

  • wow... awesome speech... truly awesome... impossible to believe a real politician is saying stuff like that... hope the rest back him up.

  • I respect the man's disagreement, as it is respectfull and well-thought. But a meaningless resolution by a handfull of Senators stating that do not support the President is just that...meaningless. And it gives the enemy something we don't want them to have: hope.

  • I LOVE YOU!

  • Don't play the shoulda woulda coulda game. It is time for a practical exit strategy that involves both sunni and shia states. We need to preempt the escalation of an impending civial war before we create the power vaccum when we exit. Also, we need to take a broader look at the history of our nation's dealings with the middle east, and realize that we need to have diplomatic relations with all states.

    P.S.--Fuck the French.

  • "If we don't debate this, we fail our country." well said, and to the point. Bring back debate to our country!!!

  • You O'Reilly minions are still spouting Sudan? That's a well-known myth - a "what if" scenario. Read Richard Clarke's "Against All Enemies" if you want to hear actual insight from an actual insider instead of that fucking dolt Sean Hannity. Secondly, Clinton told the incoming Bush administration that Bin Laden was priority #1. What did they do about it? They broke up the existing terrorism group. Bush's arrogant and inept administration can take the lion's share of the responsibility for 911.

  • Don't forget, Bush demoted the Counter Terrorist chief away from cabinet level. Clinton's Administration also prevented the widescale Millenium Attacks.

The fact that Clinton was unable to catch bin Laden isn't above comment, but to lay it at his feet is not fair. Bush also had 9 months to prepare and insistence from counter terrorist experts to pay attention. Instead, they held politics more important than American lives and safety.

  • Hey moondogrex just stating the facts, 1 military person is too much but something has to be done now! and by the way I dont like keystone

  • yeah jumpinjack1, you state the facts as YOU see them, and you get all your information thru faux news. time to go to a liberal college and get a real education, then you might be taken as a credible person.

  • jksdhfj

  • Allright MrHagel!I admire your approach, just remember there needs to be a"Commander In Chief"which is President Bush!!its a complicated matter over there and you bunch of big talkers need to figure out a way to kick some ass over there!even if it takes 40k troops!!The world is watching, come up with some ideas and help in the cause!stop bad mouthing the plans in place and arguing like a bunch of spineless puppets, support our Military, troops and give them what they need to secure that City!!

  • "Let's kick some ass over there"! Go crack another Keystone Light and watch more Fox News, "BIG TALKER"!. I hope someone in your family goes to fight your battles in Iraq and gets a limb blown off gets killed. Might be the only way your tough-guy cowboy position on this stupid war would be clarified. Thoughtless gung-ho dipshits like you are directly responsible for the deaths of 3K boys and girls, not to mention the 150K wounded/dead Iraqi civilians. Congratulations, scumbag.

  • Actually, if it wasn't for Clinton incompetence we wouldn't be in this mess at all, or any post-9/11 mess. After the first WTC attacks Sudan offered up Bin Laden for extradition, but Clinton actually refused in what is now one of the biggest blunders in American history. In addition he failed to kill Bin Laden the dozens of times satellite and spy imagery zeroed on his location. The path to 9/11 starts and ends with Clinton blunders.

  • Clinton didn't take bin Laden in Sudan because the Saudi government (Bush's close, personal friends) interfered and wouldn't help. I agree Clinton failed to get him when he had a chance. The difference is he used American forces to attempt to kill him in Afghanistan. Bush outsourced that job to others when he had the chance. Then W completely disregarded him to start an invasion of Iraq.

If Clinton was untrustworthy, how has Bush's misleading earned him any respect?

  • Well said, MKB2. Bald Eagles has obviously bought into the propoganda of a 911/Iraq connection. Silly neocon sheep like him are directly responsible for the disaster in Iraq ... including the piles of dead bodies. How do you people look yourselves in the mirror every day?

  • This politicians is positioning himself for a presidential run.

  • you are right YOU FAILED america. the senate failed america by letting the retard invade iraq without a real plan.

  • Very powerful and meaningful words. I wish every senator would challenge themselves to think and debate in such a way. Thank you for standing up, Hagel.

  • Amazing. Thank you Senator Hagel for having the courage to speak out about this. You are a true statesman.

  • He fell out of line. I applaud him on expressing his convictions. He is not a mindless GOP drone, and is completely justified in his heated speech. I applaud you Hagel.

  • Senator Hagel is setting the foundation for running for president in 08. Bush is low in the polls, he is stepping up to confront Bush since many GOP voters are discusted with Bush. In 2008 his talking points will be how he stood with American voters and told Bush No more troops.

  • You must learn the strategy of war my son: War is not pretty anywhere. Which is why we must fight them on their soil. Not here in America. And President Bush has kept them away sense their first attack 911 when CLINTON was president. Yep it was Clinton who got caught with his pants down. And all Americans paid.

  • Don't light a match!!! the room is full of assgas.

I quote you freesppech "we must fight them on THEIR soil"

Eh, and your policy will have them thinking the SAME thing with their dirty bombs, polluting Our water, food.. (as if bush easing up EPA regulations wasn't enough)

Clinton: Dayton Accord 1995 led peace in Bosnia & Herzegovina & a dictator dying in prison last year; clean water/air; Surplus budget & had time for a blowjob.

  • Hey dumbass, try reading about how little al queda is represented in Iraq. In 2006 a total of 23 al queda attacks out of an estimated 65,000 insurgents/civil war attacks. Nice to know Hannity still brainwashes a few bush supporters, Must be why bush still has a 28% approval rating.

  • January 2001, Clinton warned Bush, Gore warned Cheney,

Berger and Clark warned Rice, Bush put Cheney in charge of special intelligence, hence they all were warned of an attack in August 2001, stated in the 9/11 Commission report, nothing done, Rice cant remember when testifying hence 9/11...All Saudi terrorists took down the trade centers, why didnt we go after the Saudis?Infact why arent the Saudis securing their borders to keep the Sunni insurgents from going into Iraq and killing our soldiers?

  • hagel for president

  • that is the talk of a GOOD man, im a democrat and i support this republican message!

  • ....calm down Hilary....

  • Pay attention folks, this is a real conservative.

  • the problem is ADHD in america....I do not believe the US can win another war lasting longer than a couple years. Ask any of our enemies they will tell you...just outlast the american will and you win.

  • Senator Hagel is the best Republican since Ronald Reagan! Why can't we get this guy to run for President?!

  • eh,.. I thought he was.

    go check?

  • He will run. This is how politics and politicians work. Now he has a track record, stepping out against Bush, (polls, polls, polls) Republicans who will see this and Independants and Demolites... Anti war when the war is not a war but an occupation set in between a civil war...

  • Keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer.

  • The Congress ended Vietnam and Congress will end this quagmire as well.

  • sounds impressive

  • Good.. impeach the asshole. Others have been impeached for less.

  • Why doesn't this grandstander just switch parties and get it over with?

  • because he's a true small-government, low-tax, budget-balancing Republican. God bless Chuck Hagel for telling the truth for our party when so many won't. There are plenty of Democratic blowhards like Hillary and Edwards, too - our enemies now are not our fellow Republicans, or Democrats, but morons. It's time to put some money where our mouth is and design a cohesive strategy in Iraq that's going to succeed instead of this half-hearted "surge."

  • Because his non-iraq voting record is more conservative (pro-life, pro-buisness, anti-tax) than the vast majority of the republican party.

  • Yeah, but people, failing to understand the importance of Iraq negates all those other things, because if Iraq fails and we get nuked, our economy loses trillions, and that's not even the human toll.

  • Who will nuke us? Iraq HAS NO NUKES! They cant even flush a toilet or turn a light on for God's, Allah's sake and no WMD's,YOU SHOULD WORRY about Iran, Pakistan,Isreal,India and United States. Japan,Jordan, and God knows who else is wanting the Nuke bombs too! Welcome to Kiss your a*% good bye!! This is what I grew up with in the 50's, 60's, 70's and so on. Einstein regrets his Theory of Relativity if it mean't human exinction.

  • If we bail in Iraq, the entire Islamic terrorist community will see we are weak-minded and can be attacked, apparently without consequences. As these terrorists are all over the Muslim world, they could easily collaborate with Iran who may already have nukes. This where you left wing nuts miss the boat. Iraq is about way more than Iraq.

  • Exactly Fruitcetum...The only reason we got 9/11 was because they believed they could attack us with impunity as they did under the Clinton administration. That goofball rejected Sudan's offer to extradite Bin Laden after the first WTC bombing, and failed to kill him not once, but dozens of times when we had zeroed on his location. No wonder he went for the WTC again, he thought we were pacifist cowards..

  • incredible, almost brings tears to my eyes. a true american

  • What is Hagel's point? He basicly makes the argument that the resolution accomplishes nothing. Its like he said..The President wont be bound by it. Why is it so important to reinforce the fact that our nation is divided over Iraq? DuHHHHHHH. This dumb ass resolution does nothing but motivate our enemies.. What an idiot.

  • Luger was right, the congress should not pass a worthless non-binding resolution. If they oppose the war they should stop it by ending the funding. This is the only thing congress can do, since they won't do this shut up and leave fighting to the army.

  • i didnt know chuck hagel (R?!) was a terrorist. he ought to be sent to a secret prison in a foreign country, tortured and held indefinitely. if we dont, the smoking gun might be a mushroom cloud. also, you guys should believe some facts i made up about hagel trying to buy yellow cake from niger.

  • You are such a moron. He is a terrorist for sspeaking his mind? He isn't a cult like Bush dick sucking idiot like you so HE is a terrorist? YOU, along with Bush, Coulter, Malkin, and Fox are all American terroists. Let me guess you think your a libertarian. It's another fradulant label. No dick lick I am not a liberal.

  • Wow. I could smell the sarcasm comig off of Joe's comment through the computer. Be a little cautious with that Zeal.

  • mr. haggel has def. gained a HUGE amount of respect from me and gives me hope that there are still some true congressmen out there for the country and not themselves.

  • i love this guy! I wish it was a DEM saying the same things, but much repect to Hagel, putting it on the line with no fear - now that's an american!

  • Bush needs to wake up and see when your own congress, your own people (see latest polls), people around the world, the United Nations, the Iraq task force ALL disagree with your methods and ideology then you might take a step back and realize well maybe what you are doing isnt for the best, but Bush is so closed minded that he will refuse to take responsibility to the last day of his presidency!

  • There's a C-Span 3?? Hey my cable company is cheating me, we only get 1 & 2!!!!

  • Incredible! The 101st keyboard brigade bush supporters still bashing and calling traitors anyone who sees the truth - bush is a failure. Bush fired the top generals who disagreed, ignored the Republican lead Iraq Study Group, and now ignores 75% of Americans that think Iraq is a catastrofuck because of his leadership.

    Please look at watch?v=SjV9XVLBSNE

  • I wish I could give 6 stars for this. It is sad though that they waited till the majority was behind them to pull their heads from their arses.

  • Wow! I'm proud of our senator. He tells it like it is. David Anderson, Lincoln, Nebraka

  • When history is written Hagel and other senators will be seen for what they are: Traitors and surrender monkeys.

It is incredibly sad, that the president now has to fight the enemy on the home front as well.

  • piss off

  • This the last refuge of the intellectually bankrupt right. Calling the opposition traitors and stupid names. Sad. No one is buying what you are selling anymore. More likely history will record that George W Bush destroyed the Republican party for a generation. Hagel and Warner changing the course on Iraq is the last hope of the Republican party to still be relevant in 2008.

  • If you have served in the military over there, uou have my respect although I wholeheartedly disagree.

If you're some die-hard neocon Bush-blower who hasn't, you are with no doubt one of the biggest cowards, dipshits, and zealots that has eroded the prospects of honest government and disgrace what Americans have sacrificed for over many generations.

  • Your president is a dry drunk, and a malignant narcissist who didn't do shit until he was 40, and then proceeded to fuck up everything he touched. People such as you are proof that there still lurks a primitive brain within us.

  • Reality is Clinton ruined everything he touched...He ruined Lewinsky's life, Al Gore's presidential chances, caused 9/11 with his blunders, and put a giant cum stain of shame on the presidency. The fact that liberals try to hold on to him as a "good" president is not only laughable/delusional, but proof of the fanatical lemming mindset of liberalism.

  • No, Bush has a reverse Midas touch. Everything he touches turns to shit. The Republican Congress lead the way open for it through their own fumbling. Thankfully the "Cum stain and Crooked penis" Congress of 2000 is gone. Hopefully the new one will provide the rigorous oversight on an uncontrolled executive that the old one hypocritically failed to do.

  • Last I checked Gore won the popular vote with the most votes any american presidential candidate ever received. The recount was never done in Florida because the supreme court overruled the Florida Federal court, therefore bush didn't win, he was appointed. Clinton gave bush dire warnings about Osama - Remember that PDB - Osama determined to strike US? - Bush sat on it and didn't do shit until the day the towers fell. Bush did NOTHING UNTIL AFTER IT HAPPENED.

  • All you have to do is look at the facts. Clinton authorized the CIA to go after and kill Osama. He bombed his bases. He cut off his money. Bush did NOTHING UNTIL AFTER THE PLANES HIT THE BUILDINGS. Look it up people. Don't believe this bullshit. It's all in the 911 report. Bush ignored the PDB, numerous other warnings by the CIA, and wouldn't even meet with his own Terrorism Chief who tried to warn him repeatedly.

  • Lewinsky was a consenting adult, too bad someone wont give el Busho a blowjob, then maybe he'll be impeached.

Looking back over many years of Presidential love affairs, plenty of Republican Presidents AND Democratic Presidents gave it up for a little mattress dancing with someone other than his wife.

  • Gov.Bill Richardson in 08.

    Real Leadership, real Experiance.

  • Where the fuck did all the rupublicans like him go over the past 10 years???? they all just evaporate off the face of the planet? anyways, it is about time they got back

    Bravo!

  • Hell, where the fuck did all the politicians like him go in the past 10? It's always amazing to see someone speak with true conviction.

  • bring em home already, bush is a liar and a failure, and this surge is just like the 4 other surges that didnt work.

  • a real man!

  • HAGEL, you scare me..

I could ALMOST vote for you president.

He isn't standing alone like Joan d'Arc.. by all means.

But, he comes off all strong, coherent and realizing

prom king of the white house leadership domestically

will lead to the fall of Our Nation abroad & here.

  • Yeah, he's making too much sense isn't he...

It's so... so... unamerican for a Republican politician to do so ! Goddamn subversive element he is !

  • unamerican & GOP is interchangable.

Given where the GOP has a lameass duck in the white house, Libby & all are ready to sacrificial ham Rove like a good abortion, bush at 28% approval,.. attacking bush is all the GOP has. Hagel is doing right but I won't vote for him.

  • BRAVO SIR

  • About damn time... that is a Republican with some honor!

  • Not EVERY Senator shares the blame. Just the republican ones that enabled this mess for the last six years and excluded democrats from the process for the most part.

But of course, credit due where due etc. and to Hagel.

  • Plenty of Democrats voted for the war resolution and were part of enabling this war, including Clinton, Kerry, Edwards, and Biden. Hagel also voted for the war resolution. BUT - there were good reasons to vote for that resolution, including a hope that the administration would use it to get UN support and force Saddam to capitulate. More important than the vote, is what these leaders were saying at the time. Hagel was a vocal critic of pre-emptive action in 2002 and 2003 before the war.

  • Bravo Chuck!

  • Dear Joe Lieberwhore,

    Blow it out your ass.

    Very truly yours,

    Chuck Hagel

  • A true hero.

  • wow. a republican with integrity...

thanks sen. hagel for speaking the truth *with* power.

  • Don't forget Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, and John Warner either.

  • perhaps out of the group, Hagel, Snowne, Collins, Warner. the Republicans could come up with a ticket in 2008. they at least have more sense than current administration!
