  • I recognize the highway as soon as I saw Superstore and Best Buy. Great tutorial.

  • this really works. thanks. im using canon 600d

  • Nicee!! I tried it, even tho my cam have the F8 highest, the pics turns out great!!

  • hi,is it possible with canon ixus 220 hs? please reply

  • great tutorial, simple, to the point, thumbs up!

  • Thanks for the vid.. straight to the point :)

  • Do I have to use an expensive camera? I have a normal nikon coolpix digital camera can I achieve the same results?

  • great vid, i wanna try this now!

  • Well can someone help me pretty please?

Where can I get a cheap Tripod? also I have a Canon Rebel t1i.

Heres my settings on manual, on my lens I put MF then stabilizer off?

then on Manual settings I put it Bulb > F11 > ISO 100 is that all?

also what do I put as Flash exposure comp?

does anyone know what Spot Metering is? sorry I'm new to DSLR.

  • thank you. very helpful.

  • if i use a film camera, cant i just set it to bulb and prolong the exposure?

  • Very helpful- thank you!

  • is a nikon D3100 good for this?

  • very informative, thanks :D i plan on doing these kinds of shots of my own as well. However, the settings you suggested: do they apply to not only your night shot, but for day shots as well?

  • which nikon slr model yu r using ??

  • nice !

  • The only thing I would ad is that use timer to take the picture. Avoid any type of movement. When it's on timer, your finger is not pressing the button which eliminate any chance of handshake. I use 2 second timer when using tripod.

  • if only u could change these setting on phone cameras

  • can i do this with a sony dsc-t700? or a sony dsc-p93. i need help with this

  • @714iskate I just googled the 2 cameras you mentioned. Sorry, you can't adjust the shutter speed on those 2 Sony models.

You need a camera that allows you to take pictures on manual mode. Sony does make good entry level advance cameras like Sony DSCH50 or DSCH20. Those cameras will let you take pictures in manual mode.

  • Sir, thanks a lot for the tips..!

    (#^ _ ^)

Now I can snap pictures with lots of styles n perspectives..

  • How about filter? what did you used? :)

  • im using Sony DSC H55, can i shoot light rails? please sir reply me.

  • @alirezvi Yes you can take pictures in manual mode with DSC H55 but the smallest aperture is 8 so your pictures maybe a bit overexposed with longer exposure.

  • is it possible to do this with a point and shoot? like a sony cybershot dsc hx1 to be exact.

  • Why low ISO?

  • @Nukturnuz because high ISO will give you a lot of noise in your picture, and you can work better with the shutter speed, i mean go lower say 1 or 2 minutes exposure, and your pictures wont be overexposed, it gives you the best quality to work with the lowest ISO

  • @Nukturnuz low ISO = Low noise

  • @Nukturnuz images will have as little noise as possible.

  • @Nukturnuz high ISO gives you light in the picture and you don't need that cuz you are using long exposure

  • @Nukturnuz you get more noise with longer shutterspeeds..ok prick..do you understand or should i talk to your mother ;)?

  • Would I get the same effect If I shit this setting the aperture to F/22 and the shutter speed to maybe 20"?

  • and use timer to avoid shaking from hand when you push the button

  • canon powershot sx20 is can do this?

  • How do you change shutter speed with a D5000?

and how do i change the ISO?

  • Great info. Many thanks!

  • super helpful thanks man

  • very helpful tutorial i will definitely try it very soon

  • very helpful tutorial i will definitely try it very soon

  • scarborough town center to the south of here :D

  • How can i do it with an olympus e20???? I cant find the "ISO" or any of that stuff. Im kinda new at this

  • @xunkownx499 usually you can see ISO on the screen all the time while photographering and change it easily. If you cant see it go to menu and search

  • Thanks for the tips

  • you might as well advice to use a remote shutter or a cable shutter. that is to avoid shaking when you press the shutter button.

Then if your lens has a VR or vibration stabilizer shut if off.

  • I'm using a kodak easyshare Z915 and I can't seem to be able to get the right aperture. Any advice?

  • did you take this in toronto? lol

    401, and brimley? lol

  • yep :)

  • Hey man, nice video, can you tell me, if it is atall possible, how i can change the Shutter Speed on a Fujifilm Finepix S1500, and i really want to take some shots like this, thanks :D

  • I did a quick google of that camera model, and yes you can change the shutter speed. There should be a full manual mode which will let you set shutter speed. You can also set it to 'Shutter Priority ('S')) which will let you change the shutter speed, while the camera figures out the rest of the settings. So try setting the speed to about 4 seconds as you shoot a roadway, and you should be able to get similar shots.

  • ah i see.. i was looking for it and i couldn't find anything.. thanks for the advice. and i'll make a video showing you my shots. cool? thanks again :D

  • @soldout99 i have the same camera and i was about to ask the same question where you able to get some good results?

  • @143travieso ah awesome.. yeah i managed to get some good shots, but it took me a while to set everything up, but otherwise, yeah, i got some good shots.

  • im using canon 500d!

    thanks alot for the advice!

  • Ok, i took a look on the net. So you do have an Aperture mode which will let you play with the aperture value.

  • i wonder how do i stop down the aperture? can you help me with that

    thanks

    your tutorial is awesome btw!

  • @crisstayeul the controls do depend on your SLR (some advance point & shoots will also let you use it).. you will need to put the camera into Aperture or Manual mode (A or M on the dial) first, and then use the camera's control to reduce the aperture (usually by a dial or through the menu).

If you tell me your camera model i'd be able to be more explicit. just msg me directly if you like. tx!

  • @crisstayeul Set your camera to Manual so that you can have the ability to change the Aperture at will.
