i dont know,so if someone wanna help me i would be glad=) greetings bella sweden

LOVE ruslana white russia, russia and MY scandi <3

  • @IceysMoment They are similar and mutually intelligible (along with Belorussian (vitryska)), that is, they can understand each other. Many people in the ex-USSR countries also speak Russian however. Romanian is not related. It’s a Romance language, thus related to French and Italian etc.

  • RU SLA NA, RU SLA NA!!! Serbia loves you! :)))

  • Thank you for the response. Your English is good. I understand perfectly. Keep practicing. Are you from Poland? I knew many people of Polish descent during my formulative years. One of them came from a city called Skiernewitz, Agricultural University.

  • Ruslana nice girl :)

  • The English and Ukrainian versions don't match at all. (BTW I'm talking about the lyrics.)

  • well that's a long hair. XD

  • i love that long hair.

  • too much ..barbarian LOL!! but we like it hehe

  • don't care what language love this song

  • gta iv! :) what is the song called in russian?

  • this ukrainian language!!!

    its like polish!!!

no russian can understand ukrainian -.-

  • What the heck are you talking about??!!!!

Ukrainian and Russian are EAST Slavic, what makes them very closely related!!!!

Polish is WEST Slavic, what means that although it's related to ukrainian and russian, it has a more distant relationship.

  • I DID learn history, already.

AND I'm LINGUIST majoring in SLAVIC languages, so I know about them way more than you do!

And the reason why Polish people understand you better than Russian is because they try harder!!!

I know it because I'm from Poland (you could have checked it on my profile) and when I hear Slavic or Czech (both are very similar to Polish) I don't try too hard, but with other Slavic languages I try harder because they're more different.

  • so?

Ukrainian is 80% the same like polish > ti rosumiesh mene ;)

  • Are Ukrainian and Polish languages belong to Ural-Altaic or Indo-European family? Before responding, please remember, I'm an ignorant American, living 10,000 miles away from Europe nor am I a linguist. I, recently developed an interest in Eastern European music and a fan of Ruslana.

  • Polish and Ukrainian belong to Indo-European family, and I'm surprised that the "ignorant" person does even ask the question using the linguistic terms.

  • Thank you for the reply. Obviously, with your linguistics background and fund of knowledge, would make me ignorant as compare to you. I still have some vague memories from high school. Sign language, is it universal? Was it developed or invented? Your opinion would be grateful.

  • Sign language is not universal, each language has its own, however there are some similarities. And some languages developed it, while most of them invented it.

  • Thank you.

  • i belive indo european .... nice to see an american fall in love with my culture =D

  • 9nxt. Thanks for the reply. I'd like to visit Eastern Europe someday. Is this concert taking place near the Dnieper River?

  • im osrry my friend but i havent lived in ukraine in 9 years now ... i visit each year i ounce met ruslana in one of her tours and she is so nice! =D sorry i couldnt help =(

  • I hope you know this is Ukrainian and NOT Russian....

  • oh lol im sozzy xD ... i ment ukrainian...... im sorry^^ i wrote russia because they speak russian in ukrain, rite??

  • Yes They Speak Russian In Ukraine...and the languages themselves are really simular but yet so different...so I see how you made that mistake

  • p.s..but NEVER call a Ukrainian a Russian....

  • yea lol....big mistake ....dawei bratan...im out :D

  • cool...how did you know "dawei bratan"

  • cause i can speak a lil bit russian

  • lol my russian is not too goód ;)

  • LOL I asked how did you learn those words :)

  • lol.....i have some russians on my school :D i just know some insults like, сасй мои Хуй ...i hope i spelled it well...lol im greek and thats why i can read russian letters well...the funny thing is , that my school m8 can't read this well lol..im not russian and i can :D

  • I would have Spelled it "Sasaj Moj" and I see that you're in germany...and of course our alphabet comes from you greeks :D

  • hehe :D

  • Actually the cyrallic alphabet comes from the Greeks, Romans, and some of their own. Kindof a hodge-podge of letters.

  • English version is a crap, I definitely love this one.

  • Does any one know were i can see this video in HD or better then this crappy defnition???!!!

  • Everyone know who Ruslana is, ever since Grand Theft Auto IV came out. This means the USA, Mexico, and so on. Because she is on the game.

  • @joewillgo

People knew her before then .And when I say that I mean she has been well known across europe since she won the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest. GTA didn't make her, Ruslana was already famous in the former USSR, Europe and the world.

  • ukrainian chicks are hot

  • I LOVE this song!!! since it is on Grand Theft Auto IV

  • hah I know... I laughed my ass off when I played it with my bf and his friends... since Im the only ukrainian one in that group. Kept singing along :)

  • she's hot, beautiful voice, fantastic choreography, top quality

  • Вы должны признать, что Руслана жаркое

  • i lv this ukrainian version...it's better than the english 1 :)

  • Mainly because English is not her 1st language.

  • She speaks English. This song is in English too. Its on my youtube chan. Also, Did you ever hear of Grand Theft Auto IV? She's A DJ on the radio staion. Duh

  • Vladivostok!! ;)

  • XD ahahaha when i heard her on the game i couldn't stop laughing. That was a "wild Ball" in my book, didn't see it coming

  • @joewillgo

Up until 5 yrs ago, Ruslana didn't speak English. Back in 2004 when Wild Dances was released in English and won the Eurovision Song Contest, Ruslana only knew the words to her song and basic English talk. She relied on a translator while in Istanbul during press conferences.

She was also supposed to host Eurovision 2005, but couldn't due to lack of English. In the last 5 years, since working abroad, Ruslana is now fluent in English. Which isn't bad for 5 years work.

  • @Kingfordian22 She already spoke pretty decent English in 2008. Never played Grand Theft Auto IV? :)

  • @SeverityOne

Yes, I stated that. You must have misunderstood what I wrote. I said that

5 years ago, Ruslana barely spoke English (when she won the 2004 Eurovision contest). And the following year she couldn't host the 2005 contest because NTU said her English wasn't good enough. But now, since Ruslana has been working in English speaking countries, she now has become fluent. I was basically stated the progress she made in such a short timeframe

and yes I have played GTA ;)

  • @Kingfordian22 what the heck, just because she couldn't speak english well. English isn't the best language in the world...gosh. I would call that racism...

  • @Lilliz91

I know.... it's downright unfair. But apparently it is what really happened. They did give her a small job in the greenroom where she spoke for 2 mins and presented the trophy to the winner, but it still dosn't make it right.

  • Vona vihlyadaye nervova =]

  • Ya ne znayu.

  • i love the ukranian version!

  • this song is 100x better when she sings it in her own language. Her English isn't the best, and the lyrics are made to be sung in Ukrainian.

  • this may be a silly question but what is the ukainian translation of Wild Dances? tell you what, i was not surprised that this was voted best eurovision song of the decade!

  • you mean how to say "wild dances" in ukrainian? than it "diki tantsi",i think.

  • Dyki Tantsi to be correct. ;)

  • must be hard to sing and dance so... wildly... at the same time

  • Liberty city here i come...

  • ukrainian version rocks and she's the best singer forever

  • I.Love.Ruslana.

  • the ukranian version is way better!!! you couldn't really get much of her english in eurovision,.. and you're right.. the tone of voice that comes with her own mother-language (harsher voice) comes in handy for the overall song

  • Ruslana rocked Eurovision 2004, but here the Ukrainian syntax even better complements the tune's folk elements.

Nothing beats hearing a singer belting out a song in a tongue that is closer to her own heart. It would be sad if English became the universal language of pop. Alizee is best in French, Rammstein in German--and Руслана tears the joint apart with her Ukrainian. :-)

  • what a fantastic performance, what a great song

  • Belarus,Ukraina and Russia the best coyntries....

  • I saw her(it) in two metres from itself. She such small :)

  • So good!

  • the ukrainian version is much better than her english version :D

and they are both better than this years ukrainian euro vision :P

  • beutiful language :)

  • ruslana is so great:) She sings quite okay here

  • I love Ruslana! I'm pure American... I have no ancestors, that I know of, anywhere near Ukraine.

But Ruslana captivates me with 'Wild Dances'! I love the song, the stage theatrics, and the choreographed dance!

    Radness

  • why should it matter where your from, since when has music come down to what you like because of where you live

  • she's kinda relaxed here.. she can sing much better..

but i still love her )

    Ruslana is awesome

  • Freak: It is obvious that you don't have the ability to appreciate good songs. She deserved to win the Eurovision song contest.

  • i luv da ukrainian version

  • THE BEST!

  • go ruslana go the winner of eurovision 2004 (Turkey, Istanbul)
