  • This store must of opened up after Katrina ?

  • I was wondering if they have a section for 80's/New Wave/Post Punk 12" singles?!! How far is this from the Seabee Base?

  • @tangkad99 - seabees are naval ass commandos right? Just follow the herd of REMFS and you'll eventually find this place. ARMY FOR LIFE.

  • i just came!!

  • oh.my.god.

  • Holy shit, I live in New Orleans and I've been to Gulf Port a ton and never been here. I MUST LEAVE NOW!

  • Dope video. Thank you. This place is still going strong right?

  • It's closed now

    =(

  • Boy does that look like a fun time sink! Eventho I'm not actively looking for much anymore, I'm sure I could walk out of there with a handful of fun!

  • wow, great LPs there. :)

  • First off U2 sucks they are so over rated... they only have a few good tracks thats about it. And why do you abruptly cut the video off at the end without even saying goodbye? So rude!

  • that is one heck of a record shop. would love to vist it that shop. cheers for the video.

  • beautiful

  • I'd take that Bon Jovi album at 2:37 for it's cover. :-)

  • YES!!!

  • ::::Mouth Drops:::::

  • ill second that

  • Very nice.

    That's my kind of store.

    Thanks for sharing.

    5 stars.

  • i need the address

  • OMG!!! That is insane! You couldn't get me out of there. Thanks for sharing.

  • damnit!! i was just in gulf port

  • Record Heaven

  • this is about 1/4 the size of jerry's records in Pittsburgh. (a must vist for record collectors)

however, that's a lot of records.

    do ya have any 78's?

  • Been to Jerry's in Pittsburgh. Totally overrated. Yeah, they have a lot of records, but 99.99999999999 percent of it is crap. Plus, the cab drivers in Pittsburgh are ass holes like Superstuffy above.

  • wow, 99% crap... either you have no taste or you don't know anything about records.

    I'm betting both

  • You must be a fan of Perry Como and Don Ho. Jerry's can really supply you with lots of those. What a joke. I'll say this about "Goldmines" (why the plural name, I have no idea, since there was only one store), they had WAY better inventory than Jerry's. I ripped them off for loads of stuff. They charged ridiculously low prices for super ill rare LPs.

  • try blind lemon jefferson paramount 78

    or

lots of black label atlantics, chess, king lps.

    you've never been to jerry's

  • I don't know what you collect, but when I see Perry Como, etc. in the crates I start digging, then I find the rare exotica LPs, rare jazz, etc. It ain't all muzak.

  • ann peebles? lol

  • what happen to all the records now that the store closed??

  • Too bad the owner dick wasn't there with his dogs running around. This place was littered with dog cr@p, old cigar butts, and Dick looked like that skeleton from the Tales from the Crypt series. Oh, and the bathroom was an abomination. Seriously. And he cooked baked beans on a hot plate in there. Disgusting! It's a good thing they closed.

  • hahaha. i did often find myself face to face with dog feces while looking for records.

lol@ cryptkeeper comment. and always barefoot.

  • People will always talk about you, especially when they envy you and the life you live. Let them... you affected their lives, they didn't

affect yours. Bet you bought records from them since you know soooo much about them. What an Asshole you are....

  • This comment is directed towards Billcurl

  • You're an idiot. Maybe you liked the baked beans they cooked in the jizzed down bathroom. Your post isn't very clear, but you're upset because this store "affected peoples lives"? Gimme a break! Yeah, maybe they caught a disease in there.

  • They closed. =(

That makes me quite sad as they were the only record store around here.

  • I love/hate going to shops like this...it's great to potentially discover a gem but I'd have to go through everything!

  • Like dying and going to heaven.

  • Hi everyone....well we have fnally moved all the LP's and boy what a job it was!!! I am taking a break but will be at Menge the 2nd weekend of October. Thanks to all of you that kept us alive for the 8 years we were in business!! I surely miss you!!

  • got any 78's?

  • Went there today. Store was closed. Banner out front says "Going out of business". Gonna try again tomorrow. See if I can find some goodies.

  • I wanna go I wanna go! Does she have any Rush 7"

  • oh man.

  • kiss!!! the new kings of collectables.

  • Next time I watch this video I better put a condom on first because I was close!!! Man give me a credit card and a box lunch and I would be in this store ALL DAY LONG!!!

  • wow... That's a lot of Vinyl.

  • Does someone know music that is playing?

  • U2....'Pop' LP

  • God I hope heaven is something like that. I could literally spend all day in that store doing nothing, but treasure hunting.

  • i wanna go there now!

  • they're playing the 'pop' lp from U2, i know that very well! lol

  • hey! thanks for the info!! serioulsy...i wanted to know since i'm more into soul/funk than rock/pop...

  • i like a little bit of everything, there's so much good music out there to explore!

  • where is this store?

  • Gulfport, MS next to Biloxi...about 75 miles east of New Orleans on the I-10....the lady is Kim...tell her you saw her store on youtube..courtesy of Mel..

  • HEAVAN!

  • aaahhhh! too much too much

  • How Many Records Do U Have In Your Store

A Average I Like To Know

    Cheers!!

  • An overstocked record store is a sign of bad management... perhaps overpriced records? And those boxed records will never sell unless they're shelved in order.

  • actually, the records are fairly priced...$3-$6 for used LPs..$8 for sealed LPs..

They are still trying to recover from Hurricane Katrina so store is a bit cluttered

  • If they are in alphabetical order, then it sounds right. I wish them good luck with the hurricane recovery.

  • Did the store, the staff, and the records survive Hurricane Katrina OK. Any water damage to some of the records? That's always a heartbreaker!

  • dude i don't know what you're talking about.

every record store i go to looks like this. thats what is awesome about going to them. you can spend so much time looking around.

  • I've been to many used record stores in Montreal and the succesful ones don't let records sit for months, years even, collecting dust. When records don't sell, they put them on special. When I see records piling up, it's usually because they're overpriced. I say usually, because it's not always the case. For example, the owner might recently have acquired a huge lot of records and very few people (including the customers) had time to go through them. Now that is heaven indeed!

  • could u tell me a few good stores in mtl for some reason i have a hard time finding them. i usually go to cheap thrills but i need some more variety.

  • Depending on what you are looking for, here are a few:

    Beatnick 3770 Saint Denis Street

Le Pick-Up 169 avenue Des Pins East

Marché du Disque 793 avenue Du Mont-Royal East

    CD Echange 2055 Bélanger East.

  • Are you tellin' me those are in some kind of order? Sweet Jesus!!

  • Kind of...aisles are sectioned off by genre..and are in alphabetical order..but the stacks on the floor - you gotta do some crate diggin'!!! especially the 12 inch singles section

  • vinyl forever, thank´s!

    dj dinky

  • now thats heaven!

  • That is so sick !
