Meh people are retarded saying this movie is terrible. I saw the Korean original first and it was amazing. But this isn't a bad movie....just a terrible remake. It's entertaining and sweet and touching and all that shit, just like the original. If the original had never existed and this was the original it'd be great. But it's worth watching.
Elisha Cuthbert is a great actress, but seriously guys, this movie cannot reach the level what the original Korean one has. Gianna Jun formed a sassier, funnier character. I love the way how she says: "Hya! Nah Jugulle?!" :P (hey, you wanna die!) The US version is very weak.
This movie was by far the worst of revival production, it was a complete trash, wrong choice of actors and heck the music as well..they completely ruined the original korean version one of the best and most romantic movies of all time, and they just destroyed it! cuthbert was a wrong choice, she looks more like a slut..

In the korean version there was hardly any physical romance, mostly mental, and it works differently in American relationships, where people have more physical displays of affection.

hey,..I mean, what's so 'bad' about this movie, if all it brings is actually to introduce the American/Western audience to the Asian's culture (pop-culture) & its "sweetness" romance?? for all it's worth, IMHO this movie quite did a GREAT job in depicting that "sweet & cuteness" image so prevalent in Asian's dramas! oh and by the way the trailer sucks comparing to the movie, it reflects almost none of the charm of the movie....just watch the movie and then see the trailer and notice a biiig difference. before watching the movie i watched only very little part of the trailer cuz i was afraid it would show the ending or something and now after i've finished the movie i watched the trailer fully and it's dissapointing, doesn't show what's best on this movie....
first the movie is so annoying and pisses you off and at some points nothing makes sense and you don't understand why does he react like he does but close to the end of the film everything gets a meaning and it's all revealed and you are told this beautiful story that finally has a magic....gosh i was like twice going to give up on the movie and read the end but i just couldn't and i'm glad i watched the whole movie till the end :) it's an intelligent film even though it seems nuts :)
The Korean version is one of the most famous movie of all time in Asia. (not just Korea). Everyone thinks korean version is better. And obviously Korean version has better song and layout of the story. This movie was made because the Korean version was such a sucess. You would be surprised how many synopsis Hollywood buy from Korea because of the success of the Korean movies.

Hollywood works with stereotypes of people; that's the exact opposite of the treatment of personalities in Korean cinema. That's why this movie stinks. There's nothing original about it.

Charlie waited all those years for her to come back and she finally does but wrong time.... Her time machine malfuntion and she is stuck.... That would be epic!
Elisha did a decent job probably her best movie performance. Definitely wasnt boring watching her. Her acting was limited but acceptable.

What would I've made this movie more interesting is if thew old guy at the end was charlie. Elisha comes back to the tree but 40 years and 1 day late. Would be cool if she was a time traveler from the distance future (because her writings was about a female time traveler).
Just watched the american version beginning to middle was ok pretty cliche ending was a little different but was good they didnt change that much stayed true to the original. Overall movie was good especially the letter part. Off course the korean version was more natural and believable, better acting, and sincere. If you saw the remake and like it you definitely need to see korean one. It was more heartbreaking and romantic.....

Just watched this movie and I would say the Korean version is way better. No matter how hot Elisha is, she's no match for Jun Ji-hyun who is way cuter and had better acting. Elisha was acting all cute through out the movie which shouldn't be. The girl was supposed to be very aggressive which Elisha was not able to portray effectively. And giving a name to the girl is absolute blasphemy. If people cried watching this movie, then don't watch korean movies because it will kill you from crying.
i thought it was going to have a sad ending, the girl had borderline personality disorder, and or was terminally ill. i enjoyed the ride, albeit have not seen the korean version. The two films are worlds apart but to say this film was absolutely terrible would be a crime. both were great actors and played the part well. set was beautiful new york. now i hear you saying this modern day age theres no longer girls and guys that are romantic but its a movie.

Just watched this movie and I would say the Korean version is way better. No matter how hot Elisha is, she's no match for Jun Ji-hyun who is way cuter and had better acting. Elisha was acting all cute through out the movie which shouldn't be. The girl was supposed to be very aggressive which Elisha was not able to portray effectively. And giving a name to the girl is absolute blasphemy. If people cried watching this movie, then don't watch korean movies because it will kill you from crying.

i thought it was going to have a sad ending, the girl had borderline personality disorder, and or was terminally ill. i enjoyed the ride, albeit have not seen the korean version. The two films are worlds apart but to say this film was absolutely terrible would be a crime. both were great actors and played the part well. set was beautiful new york. now i hear you saying this modern day age theres no longer girls and guys that are romantic but its a movie.

i watched this long time ago, really, and it's good, and this few days ago,when i am downloading movies, my sister asked me if i watched already the "My Sassy Girl" korean movie, and i say no not yet, and i dont even remember if i watched it already becoz i watched too many movies before...and still i downloaded it bcoz my sister said that one is a beautiful one..after, i watched and it's GREAT MOVIE,realy made me cry,honestly... korean is more good than this, am not saying ths is bad ok..

Watch the Korean version before you watch this, I can guarantee you will like it better, even if you have to watch it with subtitles cause you can't speak a word of korean (like me) it will still blow you away.
Best film I've watched in quite a while and 100 times better than this shitty remake looks.

I havent seen the Korean version yet, and I dont think I would, I think (Not to be racist) that asian people suck at doing stuff.Ive seen the korean version's trailer and it looks like no-sense at all.Unlike this one, it looks more exciting.And I think both movies are completely different,except for the name..So nobody is copying anything...

@aTVyt Er...well, it's supposed to be a remake same movie...(US bought the rights and everything...) So I'm not sure what you mean by it not being a copy...it kind of is?
But aside from that, if this is the best movie you've ever seen, you ought to watch more movies...
