What defines good music? Creativity id say, and his solo work is full of it, especially of fungi and foe, His solo songs are some of my favorite songs period (One better, D's diner, Primed by 29, Amanatis etc)

Now what is creativity? Theres a fine line between creativity and weird for the sake of weird, and I think les walks that line very safely, allowing what is weird to become what is claypool.....
