What I had in mind in mind writing about a reason was that those troops have international mandate, they were assigned by UN to separate one side from the other. I know that the forces assigned to that task are always woefully inadequate, so they cannot stop the killing. But they are the peacekepers, and any attack on them should be considered a war crime.

26.7.2006 Israeli bombs killed two Finnish peacekeapers in UN post. The Finns radioed several times their location and still they murdered them. There were also Canadians, Chinese, Austrian soldiers among the dead.
This prooves what i have always known, Finnish Troops are overloaded with guts and spirit (Ni kallar väl det SISU). My greatest repect to these guys not backing down in their APC vs the HEAVY merkava. I feel safe knowing that the Finns are protecting the Nordic eastern border.

The Finnish peacekeeping troops commander arrived to the place, noticed the situation and order some Finnish UN peacekeepers to the roof of that house: "you there, go on the roof of the house and whatever will happen do not come down!" Then he started to negotiate with the isrealians...and that house was never destroyed...

@Kaarlo During World War Two, the Finns fought decently, but if the Americans hadn't joined the war the Soviets or Germans would have flattened them. And during the Cold War, Finland was certainly under the United States umbrella, the modern Finnish military wouldn't have lasted a day against the Soviet Union. Need proof? see the video above.

@pedarikarhu The point is not what vehicles the Finns and the Israelis are driving, but rather what they are doing, and what the Finns are doing is being a human shield for Hezbollah. Hezbollah fired rockets at Israel for years (I personally saw rockets falling on Kiryat Shmona) and when the Israelis finally did something about it, the Finns drove in on their little APC's and acted as shields for terrorists. for all I care The Finns could have been riding unicycles and firing slingshots.

As an Israeli soldier i can say that the UN force is one of the worst jokes we have here. They won't do anything against Hamas or Hizbalah because they don't want to mass with them and they know that Israeli army won't do anything to them because Israeli army cares about the law. I don't blame the soldiers because they really shouldn't care about any of the sides, but i do blame the UN for sending a puppet soldiers to a place of war.

@lintu25 There is a difference between the UN and the UN soldiers. And there is a difference between the UN at 1948 and the UN at 2010.
It's not about Finish or Irish nationality, it's about the rights that UN soldiers have in that area and it's about the total lack of motivation of UN soldiers to do their jobs. When you count on somebody to do their job and they don't do it - it's a big problem.

Israelis are a sad people who only manage to do what they do under the support of the mighty US of A. The Finns on the other hand have always fought their way by them self all alone and against mightier enemies. So in this case Israel would be a piece of cake without the support of the U.S.A and this is shown by the Finns standing up with their small APC against the heavy Tank.

26.7.2006 Israeli bombs killed two Finnish peacekeapers in UN post. The Finns radioed several times their location and still they murdered them. There were also Canadians, Chinese, Austrian soldiers among the dead.

Politics stinks. Serbia was "out" at those times. UCK killed them (serbian minority) before Milosevic sent troops to Kosovo. After that Nato started bombing.
