My favorite line up still is this lineup here and it is sad that this was the last time the original 4 played together. He had all the televised concerts on VHS we used to watch them. God i miss those days...

Sonic Boom didn't sound like a KISS album... out of my KISS collection i have an LP with 2 songs on side A: Creatures of The Night and Rockin' Roll All Night. B side has autographs scratched in from: Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley and Eric Car (about a thousand copies made and i own 1 of them)...

Paul and Gene control KISS because (1) They started KISS (2) They didn't fuck up their career by numbing themselves with drugs, alcohol (3) They cared about performing a show and keeping the band active, rather than using the band to get themselves exposure.
Ultimately, Peter and Ace weren't treated as equals because their mistakes got them fired, and were continued to be treated unequal during the reunion, psycho circus, and farewell tours because those same problems were left unfixed.
I mean if tommy will never leave KISS at least he could off change his looks in KISS, like Eric Carr or vinnie vinncent did and not be like someone he WILL NEVER WILL BE EVER!!!! Fans seem to forget one important thing about Ace and Peter. Ace and Peter walked away from the band cuz they had other supposed aspirations to do solo stuff. This was '80 for Peter, and '82 for Ace. Drugs and alcohol are what did them in. It was their choice to live that lifestyle. Ace and Peter are their own worst enemies. Gene and Paul did what they had to to do to keep Kiss going. Same thing happened again in 2001 w/Peter, and 2002 w/Ace. Love 'em but their idiots!!!

It was nice when Ace & Peter rejoined the band for that period of time. But I think the reunion was actually just Gene and Paul reinventing KISS again, since Carnival Of Souls didn't pan out the way they wanted. Funny how the Farewell Tour was actually 'farewell Ace & Peter'.
Don't be mad at Eric or Tommy be mad at gene and Paul. If you were offered to play drums or guitar in KISS but you had to wear someone elses makeup I'm certain not many people would say no to that opportunity.
I am a completely loyal Ace follower, i have every ounce of respect for him and i am totally in love with the man (i am not gay).. i don't agree with Paul and Gene's decision about the make-up issue but at the same time, I will give Tommy a lot of respect because he is a fantastic musician and performer....this is why i really want him to have his own character because then he would have the full respect he deserves. instead of people only looking at the make-up.

to anyone who wants to argue wit me,here is a question. If gene and paul are so much better without ace and peter, why do they still use their makeup to put on their puppets? my answer is because if the people saw two different characters they would say who the fuck is that. kiss would soon be called a cover band

Paul and Gene control KISS because (1) They started KISS (2) They didn't fuck up their career by numbing themselves with drugs, alcohol (3) They cared about performing a show and keeping the band active, rather than using the band to get themselves exposure.
Ultimately, Peter and Ace weren't treated as equals because their mistakes got them fired, and were continued to be treated unequal during the reunion, psycho circus, and farewell tours because those same problems were left unfixed.

I mean if tommy will never leave KISS at least he could off change his looks in KISS, like Eric Carr or vinnie vinncent did and not be like someone he WILL NEVER WILL BE EVER!!!! Probaly one of the main reasons they hired tommy the gayer thayer is that gene was really desperate for money like he always is and the first thing that came to his mind was the gay ass tommy the gayer thayer! @orriblebob You got that right. All the rest of the comments arguing over whether Tommy is better/worse than Ace, haven't even considered that KISS is bigger than the members of the band. KISS is about the characters. The Demon and Starchild will eventually have different people under the costumes and makeup too.

Ya and gene and Paul are talentless hacks as musicians!!! They don't know how to just jam!!! Everything has to be acted out!! No spontanuity!!! They should allow Eric and Tommy to develop there own personas and make up and costumes !!! As you can tell, they still need the images of ace and Peter to tour And continue to keep moving forward!! For Christ sake , Tommy played aces solos note for note on the new kiss record Sonic Boom!!! Ace made that band what they are! Think about it!!

Fans seem to forget one important thing about Ace and Peter. Ace and Peter walked away from the band cuz they had other supposed aspirations to do solo stuff. This was '80 for Peter, and '82 for Ace. Drugs and alcohol are what did them in. It was their choice to live that lifestyle. Ace and Peter are their own worst enemies. Gene and Paul did what they had to to do to keep Kiss going. Same thing happened again in 2001 w/Peter, and 2002 w/Ace. Love 'em but their idiots!!!

It was nice when Ace & Peter rejoined the band for that period of time. But I think the reunion was actually just Gene and Paul reinventing KISS again, since Carnival Of Souls didn't pan out the way they wanted. Funny how the Farewell Tour was actually 'farewell Ace & Peter'.

Don't be mad at Eric or Tommy be mad at gene and Paul. If you were offered to play drums or guitar in KISS but you had to wear someone elses makeup I'm certain not many people would say no to that opportunity.

I am a completely loyal Ace follower, i have every ounce of respect for him and i am totally in love with the man (i am not gay).. i don't agree with Paul and Gene's decision about the make-up issue but at the same time, I will give Tommy a lot of respect because he is a fantastic musician and performer....this is why i really want him to have his own character because then he would have the full respect he deserves. instead of people only looking at the make-up.

peter and ace signed there contracts in 96.then when the tour took of they wanted new deals.you dont sign on for 4 years then change your mind.thayer was a tour manager on the tours from 95.unplugged onwards.i still think they will do this one of gig back together to end it all..they do actually get on!
