He made all these fabulous works before revolution and continued with "ghadeghan" when he moved to France which was a reasonably well-made album. But quality of his poems dropped when he moved to states and has been dramatically going down ever since. The stuff he makes these days can hardly be called "poems". I dont know why but this artistic constipation is so common among Iranians in US.

1. The song was written for Dariush but he recommended Googoosh to sing it.

2.Because if you listen to the lyrics he is talking about the Shah of Iran.

3.Producers said the words are better suitable for children stories.

1. Hejrat was always a Googoosh song (I interviewd Ghanbari and he told me so). The song that Dariush sang first was "Nafas." But there was a problem and Ghanbari gave it to Googoosh.

2. Dariush, Ghanbari were arrested for the song "Booye Khoob Ghandom" which criticized the Shah's regime.

Dear arasharash99, "Be khod residan" was written by Shahyar Ghanbari, it is only the chorus (Bi hamegan be sar shavan...) that is by RUMI, however the verses are by Shahyar.

In my idea, main characteristic of SHAHYAR GHANBARI that makes him different to the other poets is having new ideas in his poems, look at DOU MAHI and SHAK MIKONAM(from the Shab e sepid album), he is adventurous like a young boy.

Why do Iranians get so upset when someone compliments another Iranian. Why do they quickly look for a fault to discredit that person and bring him down again?

Nothing will damage Rumi's value and nothing also will diminish the value of Shahyar's nice songs. All songwriters are influenced by ancient poets. They sometimes use word for word ancient poems for a song but their value comes when they turn that piece into a beautiful song. That makes us enjoy Rumi twice, once in his books as poems and once in a song form.
