Can't believe how stiff it was without the mods. Proof that some manufacturers are uninterested or incapable of making kits that perform well. How difficult would it have been for them to drive the final prototypes and soften the spring rates before full scale production began? Oops, I'm ranting again.
@MrDavidfuchser Don't worry, it really is ridiculous that the springs were so stiff. I got sick of them within a minute, so I pulled them off and started running a droop setup.
@dath1996 I would just replace the stock motor. If you converted to brushless you would probably destroy the drive train. You could put in a mod motor, but then you couldn't run the Lipo.
i removed the rear springs on mine, cut 3 loops out of the front and put bb's in the front wheels, world of a difference, look up Losi micro crawler Ford body
I have a losi micro crawler, i need to know what weights to use and how much weight i should use. I have already put the battery on the front servo so what else can i do to make it crawl better? Thanks
@KrAzEyFaRt ... Defiantly do the droop mod on the shocks. The weights we used were the regular stick on weights you would use for a full sized crawler, we just cut them to fit. I believe we did one full wrap per wheel.
i want to put a highly detaled 1 24 scale model body on a losi fram what do you think any hints im not up on the rc thing but built some very nice models im thinking a truck body with the fram and drive train spark plug wires on the motor but will the losi stuff get in the way abd would it look stupid?????? i guess in the long run its a way to kill a long alerta winter

we did it to even out the weight ratio. You don't want to have all your weight on the front axle. Plus installing it on the rear axle sets it a little lower (CG) than it would be on top of the servo - Jay

Hey AtomicMods were those 3 oz. weights you put on top of the servo? You should post a video of the crawler after applying the weights. One other thing, you had the battery on the rear axle perch during your first run so we couldn't really see what it ran like with the battery in the stock position. Did it make a difference??
