Streep, Close and Foster were all great I think. Foster just happened to be the one to win and she deserved it even if it wasn't the only great performance in the category. She had to carry a film on her own when it was television movie material and had to go through a lot obviously playing that role. Very brave, raw performance.

Well, Meryl Streep is Meryl Streep. She's excellent no matter what she does. But, excellence sometimes doesn't always have to rewarded. Weaver was impressive in Gorillas In The Mist but only just because her character wasn't tested enough. Griffith played her performance fabulously, but Working Girl itself a great film was riding off the coattails of Wall Street. To each his own, I like that mentality. Now if only we could curve BitchErica1.

Glenn close didn't win, so outinsider will say she was flawed. anything that wins though, he's all behind it. even gloria grahame's barely-a-performance in the bad and the beautiful.
