Almost all the northern states banned slavery while every single southern state allowed slavery. The total number of slaves in the northern states that allowed them( Maryland and Delaware if you actually consider them northern) was about three hundred thousand compared to the total number in the south being about 4 million. So the one statement of fact in your comment is not a fact.
Besides, I'd rather have men who were living to give their lives for America than live in a broken country that would not be sustainable. It's not like Lincoln himself drafted the men, most of them were willing to fight for our country. That's something to be proud of, and if you're not happy with a well functioning country, then that's your problem. Lincoln himself did not declare orders to perform total war, that was secretly carried out by General Sheridan through Shenandoah Valley. For General Sherman's March to the Sea, both Sherman and Lincoln were opposed to it, until Sherman convinced Lincoln it was necessary. It prevented us from even more deaths.

The voice is not Lincoln himself but an interpretation done by William R. Rathvon in 1939 recorded on a 75 rpm. William R. Rathvon was at Gettysberg when Lincoln gave his speech. William R. Rathvon interpreted Lincoln as well as he could before he died in 1940.
That would put Mr. Rathvon at about 85 years of age when he made this recording. I doubt I could remember how a speech was delivered if I heard it at age 10, and I'm not close to 85. I'm glad this has been posted, though. Thanks!

As for the deaths and poor conditions at pow camps, it seems to me that someone with the southern perspective of the war has no moral ground to complain considering that they started the war to begin with the intensification of the state militia units, the secession of the states and the attack on US Fort Sumter. The south wanted war and once they got it and it didn't go their way they whine because the US didn't treat them more tenderly while at war.

Almost all the northern states banned slavery while every single southern state allowed slavery. The total number of slaves in the northern states that allowed them( Maryland and Delaware if you actually consider them northern) was about three hundred thousand compared to the total number in the south being about 4 million. Besides, I'd rather have men who were living to give their lives for America than live in a broken country that would not be sustainable. It's not like Lincoln himself drafted the men, most of them were willing to fight for our country. That's something to be proud of, and if you're not happy with a well functioning country, then that's your problem. It's not like Lincoln wanted war, it's not like Roosevelt wanted the atomic bomb on Hiroshima, but both of those saved more lives than it killed.

Lincoln himself did not declare orders to perform total war, that was secretly carried out by General Sheridan through Shenandoah Valley. For General Sherman's March to the Sea, both Sherman and Lincoln were opposed to it, until Sherman convinced Lincoln it was necessary. It prevented us from even more deaths.

One was the speech by the mormon "prophet", wilford woodruff. The other would be this speech, if this is authentic. recordings started becoming popular in the early 1900s.

The voice is not Lincoln himself but an interpretation done by William R. Rathvon in 1939 recorded on a 75 rpm. William R. Rathvon was at Gettysberg when Lincoln gave his speech. William R. Rathvon interpreted Lincoln as well as he could before he died in 1940.
