umm thats a different trap. the one thats a life saver is for saw 5 and the guy who goes in it isnt in is underwear. This "trap" was seen in saw 4 when jill is in john's workshop and lifts up a sheet to reveal this box full of glass shards, john then walks in and tells her that he told her not to come there. It is a small possibility that this box seen on saw 4 was the saw 5 trap but then this picture makes no sense.
This is probably just a promotional still. Sometimes before the script is revised for whatever reason, the producers have a rough idea of what they want for a scene, so they just set up one shot, although it might change over the course of filming, as probably happened with this.
Actually my guess inside the box would be a new game, and maybe his face cut out.... And as for the glass box, the guy prob had a secret getaway alrdy planned out(he wouldnt completely screw himself by just walking into the room.

what happened next? i mean the glassbox was under the floor but it had to come out again otherwise the person in it would have died. so the walls would have to open for the box to come out and then we could see the rest of strahm's body xD

This Saw V was aight but but saw I and Iv then V was the greatest of this sequel. I feel saw vi god spare life in Oct 09 will expose more of the uncovered puzzle. Unconfirmed if it was just taken pics of/really filmed but it was said multiple times Glass Box was meant for the Ivan's hotel "Vagrant" in Saw IV. Then for some unknown reason the new director/writing team changed it's purpose. Instead of a trap it's used as a getaway device. Not confusing, just dumb that it was hyped for two movies to be an intense scene and they ass it up and completely remove the purpose of having Vagrant in the movie at all other than a random "What the hell..?" moment.

the story in these shows is so messed up and gone.
the reason all the sequals are just blood and gore is because the writers suck and can't keep or think of a story that is appealing so they throw in lots of weird traps and things that make you squirm to help distract you from how horrible EVERY SINGLE saw movie really is.
like ya said i think that the gore is what made saw famous and gave it the buzz, and i'm sure that there are alot of people that think saw is the most mind blowing story ever told.
Though when you look at it, the first Saw really wasn't that gory, it was just one mind-fuck of a movie. Yeah it gave the suggestion of the violence, but it never really showed anything. So I wouldn't give the visual shock and gore value all the credit for making the movies popular.
after that they branched off and had many more gadgets many more deaths and much more gore.
personally i don't like any of the saws.

i don't think the sequels were ever meant to be there, that's why i think the saw storyline is so messed up. thats why everyones confused.

the people who are confused are the people who don't pay attention to the plot. Saw is one of those movies where if you don't pay attention for 10 minutes, you can miss a huge piece to the entire series. My brother's one of these people. He has no clue who anyone is because he doesn't pay attention. If you do, you'll find that the story to Saw is unlike most horror movies.

Remember the bum in Ivan's hotel who he is trying to escort out before he closed the place? That is actually who is in the glass box, though he does somewhat resemble Zepp. There are rumors that the scene will be placed in V, however a Special Edition of SAW IV has yet to come out, so they might put it in there as an deleted scene.
it could be in a flashback of Zep's first test in SAW V. Jigsaw doesn't really just "let" people become his apprentice. They have to go through one of his rigorous tests and survive to be considered for the position. Ex. Amanda and the reverse bear trap. We'll probably find out about Hoffmann's first trap too in film 5 or 6.
zep was never an apprentice, he was playing his own game during saw, he piosen in him and jigsaw had the antidote, he had 2 help out in game by watching over dr gordens kid and wife in order 2 get given the antidote

Unconfirmed if it was just taken pics of/really filmed but it was said multiple times Glass Box was meant for the Ivan's hotel "Vagrant" in Saw IV. Then for some unknown reason the new director/writing team changed it's purpose. Instead of a trap it's used as a getaway device. Not confusing, just dumb that it was hyped for two movies to be an intense scene and they ass it up and completely remove the purpose of having Vagrant in the movie at all other than a random "What the hell..?" moment.

the story in these shows is so messed up and gone.
the reason all the sequals are just blood and gore is because the writers suck and can't keep or think of a story that is appealing so they throw in lots of weird traps and things that make you squirm to help distract you from how horrible EVERY SINGLE saw movie really is.

Though when you look at it, the first Saw really wasn't that gory, it was just one mind-fuck of a movie. Yeah it gave the suggestion of the violence, but it never really showed anything. So I wouldn't give the visual shock and gore value all the credit for making the movies popular.

true the first one was more story focused.
but the first focused truly on two people.
after that they branched off and had many more gadgets many more deaths and much more gore.
personally i don't like any of the saws.
i watched the first one and 10 minutes into the movie called the old man getting up at some point and being the center of the story so it kinda ruined it

the saw stories are messed up. saw 1 wasn't supposed to have a sequel, but it got big hits. in saw 1, jigsaw was a mysterious person, you didn't know who he is. then they made the saw sequels, all about blood and gore so people will watch them. they also exposed who jigsaw was.
i don't think the sequels were ever meant to be there, that's why i think the saw storyline is so messed up. thats why everyones confused.

the people who are confused are the people who don't pay attention to the plot. Saw is one of those movies where if you don't pay attention for 10 minutes, you can miss a huge piece to the entire series. My brother's one of these people. He has no clue who anyone is because he doesn't pay attention. If you do, you'll find that the story to Saw is unlike most horror movies.

The human body is a fasinating organism,it could with stand most brutalist injuries and can repair it self, thus when a body is cut in half the body is able to bypass the the lower body(the legs) and the blood could keep flowing ...so Dr.Gordon could still be alive...This was my theroy of saw 5 but this is impossible because cary elwes(dr.gordon) got sued and is not in the saw 5 cast

Remember the bum in Ivan's hotel who he is trying to escort out before he closed the place? That is actually who is in the glass box, though he does somewhat resemble Zepp. There are rumors that the scene will be placed in V, however a Special Edition of SAW IV has yet to come out, so they might put it in there as an deleted scene.

it could be in a flashback of Zep's first test in SAW V. Jigsaw doesn't really just "let" people become his apprentice. They have to go through one of his rigorous tests and survive to be considered for the position. Ex. Amanda and the reverse bear trap. We'll probably find out about Hoffmann's first trap too in film 5 or 6.

I know it sounds crazy but you have to think how crazy saw is already, they surprised us with the timeline about how saw 3 and 4 were happening simultaneously so maybe theres still another twist to it Zepp Could in fact the person that locked up corbett, and maybe he tried killing lynn in the past but failed and so amanda took over, you never know lol

see my theory is that the guy in the box is zepp hindle and hes being tested to be an apprentice and we all know amanda was tested if she could handle it and so was hoffman so maybe zepp was going to be the new jigsaw but died and in his test in the first saw it said "Would you kill a mother and daughter to save your life" bt in saw 3 we see Lynn and corbett,(mother and daughter) BUT who do you think locked up Corbett?? seems like zepp

I'm pretty sure that it was Amanda who locked up Corbett, seeing as she abducted Jeff and Corbett. Zep is dead anyway. Plus, there is just no possible way the timeline could be so screwed up.
