Other successful countries like Japan also have huge debts, but they don't whine about it. Plus, much of our debt is owed to ourselves, and no one's ever going to make us pay up all at once.
Chinese debt is actually $3 trillion, which is like half their GDP.

What America needs to understand, as a SUPERPOWER, that not every country is ready for democracy and you should let the people decide on where they want their country to go ( a basic democratic principle, I think) The (majority) of Syrians do not want the government to change because in a country in such a violent multi-ethnic country, a dictatorship is the best form of government.

We may be able to continually improve ourselves through time, but other countries with any success are places like China (communist), etc. The only other options are other Western powers like England and France (who although not perfect by any means) are better off than most other European and African nations put together.
