@dapare00, Shuri-ryu first came into the USA in 1945 by Robert A. Trias. It was first known as Shorei-ryu (Japanese vernacular) before later being reorganized by Master Trias in 1983. Our founder is Motobu Choki and lineage was past down by his chief instructor, Konishi Yasuhiro, who in turn appointed Master Trias the designation as 'style-head'. We have a strong Chinese kempo influence in our style and older forms of tui-te & kyushu-jutsu in our interpretive movements.
@Shoreihito With all do respect, and I'm not doubting you what so ever, but Master Trias fought so hard to keep our dying art of "Shorei-Ryu" alive and shown alot of pride &determintation of this lovely, just to revamp it 1983 (which at the time he was already diagnosed with cancer)...
