  • hey eric the car guy i dont no if you read these or not but if u do first of all i love ur videos second of all have you ever thought of doing a build series of videos like a civic or something or what ever because i think that would be sweet anyways thanks for all the videos they are my favorite on youtube! :)

  • thats a lot of effort right there.. i wonder how the F#¤"#¤ other dudes can build a huge shop without being known for be technicians,,that because they are not, they just bussiness men and they just want the money from the client...im gonna (hopefully) start my own 1st shop erick and you know what WE CANT let those ignorants TAKE THE MARKET JUST CAUSE THEY KNOW HOW TO SELL OR TRICK THE CUSTOMER,IN THIS ERA WE NEED TO STUDY MORE THAN THE USUAL WE NEED TO STUDY ADMINISTRATION ;FINANCES to beat them

  • what area you got there? and no beer in the fridge?

  • @vochitoken I don't normally drink beer instead I drink whiskey (not a lot just a nice glass now and again) and I'd rather do that at home, the shop is for work home is for play.

  • Enjoyed the video !

  • That's a really nice set - up you've got. Congrats Eric.

  • @chevykicksass505 Yea I really love it, thanks for the comment.

  • where do you get your oil for oil changes

  • @loser6574 From my parts supplier.

  • sweet shop man. spacious. question, when you walked by the engine crane you pointed to the engine and said and you all know about the 5.3. is that the same one from the avalance that had the compression problem, or am a still a few months behind?

  • @kenman1717 Yes it is. I hope to make some more videos on that at some point.

  • @ETCG1 i thought i remember you saying at the end of those vids after you had it apart that it was going back for core or something, did they not want it back?

  • you wouldnt have a speed sensor for a 93 d21 5 speed ka24e 4 cyl?

  • @austinsonoma No I don't think so sorry.

  • Happy for you bro.You earned it.Im eager to start my automotive technician classes.I love this field of tech work with a passion.Even more when I watch your videos.Good luck at the new shop bro.

  • @Chills327 I'm very happy to hear that as if this industry needs anything it's more enthusiastic qualified technicians. Good luck in school, I know you'll do fine.

  • Hi eric ive just opened a new shop of wheel alignment can you do a video on wheel alignment and other settings of wheel

  • @COD5252 I'd love to but I don't have a machine or access to one at the moment but I've actually had plans to make a video like that for some time.

  • @ETCG1 thanks for reply

  • Maybe you should install some cctv system like some 4 cameras and a dvr just in case and an alarm too!

  • @danielvaldezaguirre Check my Flickr account for pics of the outside.

  • The shop is looking good all it needs is the hoist.

  • @vichimself69 We'll get there for now it's just nice to work on a clean level floor with plenty of room to work. Thanks for the comment.

  • I also have 2 kegs undecided what to do with them, lol.

  • @lilvpr For some reason they are hard to get rid of.

  • Good lucky

  • Great new shop! I like your organization too. Are those floor jacks from Harbor Freight?

  • @adamsautoadvice Thank you and yes they are.

  • Dang Erick your shop is cool hopefully ill be in your shoes one day working in my own shop but untill then I will keep learning and not break another God damn tire seal ;)

  • @finder1994 I hope so too, it's taken a lot of work but it's all worth it.

  • finally,.....yes!!!

a dude toillet,..... leave the seat up

  • @marsL001 Indeed, remember that ladies!

  • Congrats on the new shop...it looks great!

  • @RamblinAround Thank you!

  • Awsome dude! You still look super excited about your new shop that's great! Keep the good stuff coming!

  • @JesusLoveToSkate It's like living a dream, sometimes I can't believe I work there.

  • Nice shop! You don't need that sink... Stay Dirty!

  • @KarlwinsFive I'll use it as a parts washer then.

  • He puts the directions/instructions up with the stuff he doesn't use a whole lot. Classic. You forgot to say be safe have fun stay dirty, follow me on FB & Twitter, ETCG dot com, forum ETCG1 and EricTheCarGuy

  • @JTheGuitarPlayer I did however put the logo at the end.

  • Awesome video! Place looks fantastic and has inspired me to organise my garage a little better. I agree with the 1 lift idea and keep the open space. That way you can also do a u-turn inside :)

  • Nice dude, good you're all settled in. I spy an Odyssey. 99-01 EX? one day I'll take my own and visit the shop haha.

  • @markkjay If the trans doesn't go out you should be fine.

  • @ETCG1 Yeah I know what you mean. I have 219,000 on the original trans and it's a 2000. Been whining since 130k, never drove any different, and still isn't haha

  • R-12 AC gagues are still usful as people still have old cars.

Tape Decks?, i would say get rid of them and tell the customer to upgrade to CD

Do have running hotwater for the sink, you did not show if you got that fixed in the update part?

  • @IIGrayfoxII Yea, I just needed to turn the valve on at the tank.

  • Nice set-up Eric! Can't wait to see some fix-up vids in this place. Congrats on moving on up!

  • Hey Eric, how do you feel about your air compressor? I've seen a lot of cheaper stuff from CH including "oil-free" air compressors. I've wanted to get a few air tools for a while now, but they all tell me I need a great big 80 gallon unit. I see guys like you getting away with 30-40 gallon units. If CH isn't as bad as I've been lead to believe, I might be able to afford a decent unit.

  • @buggsyspam Actually the 26 gallon that I have works pretty good, the only time I get into trouble is when I'm using a die grinder or something.

  • Beer Kegs make great coffee tables, throw on a piece of round glass (easy to trash pick in spring from lawn furniture.) & you're G2go!

For organizing Eric; Old bureaus ~ again curbside ~ every now & then are perfect for organizing components, the old Oak ones are stouter & their dovetails help keep the contents in place. You can further install shoe boxes as dividers.

  • @Begbucks I'll keep that in mind, thanks for the suggestions.

  • awesomest toilet brush EVER!!! great new place Eric! congrats!

  • Capri Sun! You are instantly on my best friend list!

Nice open space - ripe for the carnage of tackling the wild automobile. Good luck Eric! ^^

  • @GammaCruxis Feel free to help yourself should you ever stop by.

  • very nice!! lifts can be found for like $2k or less

  • thats a mans shop right there ..... atta boy eric

  • Hello, I think you should really invest in a security system. :)

  • What's with the slider thing? Not using cardboard anymore?

Nice shop though... plenty of space!

  • @ratdude747yt I still use cardboard, it allows for more room under the vehicle when you work.

  • Looks awesome! Im so proud of you!

  • @dreamer2355 Thank you!

  • You got a nice space. It beats the old garage. It's bigger and got really high ceilings. You can probably build a second floor in the back left or right corner and use it as an office.

  • @absolut5050 There is actually an office trailer next store that I hope to use for that someday, I do love the shop though it's a great place to work.

  • Awesome, you really must feel great when you step into etcg garage..also maybe you can build a wall or small room back in that corner to hide all your parts or misc stuff...And hope you have some kind of alarm or security system in there.People can be evil and steal your stuff...Have a great day...Jbone

  • @jbone2470 I will be taking over the office trailer next to the shop in the future I hope.

  • I wanna hang out at this place, have some ( german!) beer and talk cars.

Maybe I can be your apprentice one day ? :)

After making a mess with the waste-oil :

    Eric: Getawayer.....

    Me: Yap ?

    Eric: YOUR FIRED !!!!

    ;D

  • @TheGetawayer Actually I can see you as a parts driver, that way I wouldn't have to wait to get them.

  • Looking good dude! Awesome confectionery and drinks section too.

  • @Mulletsrokkify Yea, saves making a trip to get stuff.

  • Are you going to add a walled-in office area for important docs, cash, etc?

  • @logyscott I don't have any cash. :) There is an office trailer next to the shop though.

  • hey Eric why dont you get a couple of ip cameras and post live video of the shop on your site..

  • @lga571

thats a really good neat idea!

  • @lga571 I think is a very good idea actually but the guy a break sometimes :D

  • @lga571 I don't know about live video but I did get mobile internet last week and I'm going to look into something using that.

  • @lga571 bad idea just visuals are less helpful

  • I love you new shop!! Looks great!! Your new shop, did you buy it or are you renting it?

  • @turbobuick33 I love it too, I'm renting it.

  • I spotted pokemon in the corner!

  • @DStylesHanska Cool, did you take a picture?

  • @ETCG1 Checked again and it was Riviton or something, sorry.

  • What car or cars do you got Eric? I haven't watched all your videos yet to know what you be rollin in.

  • @Dymundback I drive an 03 Element.

  • lmao at the elvis clock!

  • @MisterMattyMo I love that clock.

  • i got the same cart in the shop i work at...really handy...great setup you have there eric.

  • u should sell all the parts.,. u will never use em.

  • @ranacherian I've made more money out of that pile that you can imagine especially since I organized it. Also keep in mind much of that stuff will be used as 'teaching tools' for future videos.

  • Can I appy a job as a mechanic there? lol... Hi Eric, why don't you make a small store room so that you can keep valuable parts safe and locked. What happen if youre in the toilet for 15min... a thief might steal something...or may be put some CCTV :)

  • @axenz1 I actually have an office next store that I'm using for that at the moment. A thief would have to work pretty hard to steel my junk though.

  • theres even a fridge!! u can put 6 packs of be... soda in there.

  • @bobby8926

Root Beer and hold the Root

  • @IIGrayfoxII it's from Tommy Boy

  • @bobby8926 Yea, I could. :)

  • My suggestion for the new shop name.

    Eric the car doctor.

    Eric the Honda doctor.

Or why not just make it simpel...

    "ericthecarguy com"

  • @siemenstraffic Eric the Hondor!!

  • Any thoughts on a sign for the outside of your shop? You know, to advertise your services.

  • @hjkgufytfyug Gonna keep it on the down low for now.

  • nice. just wait til that puppy gets filled up with cars. gonna be sweet. cheers the dream is moving well man.

  • @Diesel1Dee Yea, it's good to be me, thanks for the comment.

  • Does the shop have a name?

    Eric's auto repair?

    Redline auto?

    'The new shop' ?

    YouTube Garage??

PS: You really need to eat healthier snacks

  • Love the juice boxes and the dude toilet lol

  • @clapton924 Me too.

  • The new shop is coming along nicely!

  • looking good Eric
