  • Hey Eddie Vedder's got a really good voi....

    Shut your mouth!

Hey man i'm just talkin bout Eddie Vedder

  • i dont have this song on my ten copy... wierd

  • @shtdcte how old is your copy? Ten originally didn't have the track on (though it was on the european version) but it was added for later copies/re-releases.

  • @putowtin makes sense,,, my copy is pretty old

  • Where's Mike McCready?

    My god, he's been ate!

    Best ever haha

  • WaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhh!!!!!!!

  • It's not a tribute to RHCP. They were just inspired by touring with the Peppers.

  • Another thing about this song is it contains a little reference to the "Theme from Shaft" by Isaac Hayes. There's a line in that track that goes: "They say this cat Shaft is a baaad mother..." "Shut yo mouth!" "I'm talkin' 'bout Shaft"

  • This song is quite Freaky Styley... :)

  • ok, I think that's enough. HAHAHAHA! :D

  • My two favorite bands at once! :)

  • Red Fucking Pearl Chili Jam MAN!!!

  • Fuck em, just to see the look on their face, fuck em just to see the look on their face

  • For those that don't know the story of this song. The title is named after Pearl Jam's tour bus driver Frank (Can you guess why?). Musically, it's a tribute to the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Pearl Jam opened for the band in 1991-1992 and were so insprired by them that they decided to come up with a song in the chili's funk style!

  • Why are you guys talknig about RHCP here? Am i missing somthing?

  • @Wick3DSteely that's what i was thinking....

  • @Wick3DSteely cook em, just to see the look on their face

  • for the records, Dirty Frank was released 1 month before Give it away

  • Frank is so Dirty D:

  • THAT DIRTY FRANK WAS A BAAAAD MOTHA-SHUT CHYO MOUTH!

  • @Socotrine Hey man I'm just talkin bout dirty frank.

  • give it away, give it away, give it away NOW

  • Dahmer.<3

  • I feel like dirty frank sometimes

  • kinda glad they left it off the US album

  • why would you give that guy so many negative votes because of a missunderstanding? so touchy

  • this song reminds me soo much of the Red Hot Chili Peppers!

  • Dirty Frank should go party with Sir Psycho Sexy. That'd be the place to be.

  • is it just me or is this song really addicting?

  • iouewsuvhbbnseuhweowoeruwoemweroqpeorqeiorpqweriprnhbvueruwiprqpweiruwebolwerppqewpruwepDIRTY FRANK.

    Anybody get the same thing?

  • Give it away now-For Dirty Frank

  • Pearl Jam rocks. All i can say is that they do come up with some fun songs like BUGS. i rather listen to rock compared to rap ANY DAY. RHCP is ass.

  • @stephany101586 not sure if trolling or just stupid. But if rhcp is ass how come pearl jam did this tribute song?

  • How fortunate. Pearl Jam and RHCP are my favorite two bands. If only RHCP would do a Pearl Jam tribute, now.

  • @itsCAKEfan They've toured together,I also read that Eddie was friends with the Chilli Peppers before he joined Pearl Jam. Jack Irons was the Peppers drummer at the time. You probably knew that though lol

  • Red hot chili peppers ruuuules

  • The euro release was different? huh.

  • Yea not on Ten US - first time I heard it was on State of Loving Trust from a box set.

  • OO boy I I just hate matt cameron playing this tune, and all old others...

  • Its not about Dahmer its about a bus driver they had during that tour. He use to creep them out with the way he looked and acted so they wondered if he was a serial killer that ate mother fuckers. LMAO!!!! Cook um just to see the look on their face!!

  • If I ever met Eddie......the only question I can think of to ask is " What the hell are you saying in the back ground all through dirty frank?"

  • This song was inspired from a tour with the Peppers from their song Freaky Styley but the Peppers actually took it from George Clinton when it was "Funk 'em just to see the look on their face....."

  • Dirty frank - Pearl jam

  • I've heard that this is a tribute to the Peppers, and I've also heard that they're mocking the Peppers. Either way, the part at the end where he's saying "f**k 'em, just to see the look an their face" is straight from the album version of RHCP's song Freaky Styley.

  • Dirty Frank was a bad mother... SHUT YOW MOUTH! XD gets me every time

  • PJ can be so funky at times.

  • This song is about Jeffrey Dahmer

  • can you give me the link you downloaded this from?

  • The Chili Peppers are better than Pearl Jam.

  • @KetamineAddict you're also on heroin

  • @malache666 I would've said ketamine, but sure, heroine...

  • @KetamineAddict yep!

  • jeez, yes there's a touch of chillis about it, but who gives a f**k? they're both great bands, enjoy the music or move on...

  • "Where's Mike Mccready? MY GOD HE'S BEEN ATE!"

  • Give it away, give it away, give it away, give it away now lol! I like funk influence in this song. Would have been interesting to hear other songs like this from them as well.

  • this is from the Even Flow single

  • Red Pearl Chili Jam :D

  • @ZIUTCore or Red Jam Chili Pearlers :)

  • @ZIUTCore shutup

  • i swear i heard an album version of this where around 1:48 the lines were dubbed with different people for authenticity.

  • I love this song xD

    (also big Peppers fan)

  • Reminds me strongly of the peppers :)

  • Red Hot Chilli Peppers style.

  • this is hands down one sick, twisted and hilarous song. its amazing how they capture an early 80's jazzy rock sound with awesome lyrics. truely a great song, that diservesmore credit than it gets. -John

  • freaky styley

  • This is a cover of an old R n'B hit from 1953 by Gumball Goodrops and his 5 Gonads.

Elvis also did a version but not quiet in the same league as Pearl Jam.

  • why all the hate? i love this song :P

  • "Dirty Frank" was Pearl Jam's tour bus driver in the early days. The band members had an inside joke that he was probably some serial killer and psycho that ate people. Thus the song "Dirty Frank" was born around the same time they were on tour with the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Hence the funky feel to the song as a sort of tribute to them..

  • @jonboy2810

i think the song's also partly about Jeffery Dahmer because the first line is "Dirty Frank Dahmer he's a gourmet cook yea"

  • Woew RHCP

  • hehe so glad this is is on my ten album..I'm gonna get thumbs down for this gloating right..

  • nice funky rythme

  • frank really is dirty

  • hmm somebody in PJ are red hot chili peppers fans xD

  • this song is clearly inspired by the RHCP , " cook'em just to see the look on their face , cook'em just to see the look on their face" , that's exactly Freaky Styley lyrics " fuck'em just to see the look on their face , fuck'em just to see the look on their face " , anyways it's a very nice song !

  • A song about me! :-)

  • funky :D kinda like rhcp.

  • @ivatori93 I'm pretty sure they started out as a RHCP cover band in their very early days, and then they branched off. I think they opened for RHCP at a gig. The bands are friends I think :)

  • Comment removed

  • Love this song... It always sounds to me like Pearl Jam trying to channel the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Reminicent of early Peppers, but with the genious of Pearl Jam...

  • @chshire2020 I think they actually wrote it while on tour with RHCP or something, I could be wrong though

  • jeez, it's like hmm a grunge-funk or something, anymay this track kicks ass!

  • This so doesn't suit them

  • sounds like something from RHCP lol :D

  • @JohnnyDaBird totally

  • you guys are not from ten, damn ignorant basterds

  • who gives a shit if its on ten or not...this is good...you muppets

  • Not their best, but it's delightfully twisted.

  • Dirty Frank IS from Ten, it's European Bonus Track

  • Sound like RHCP

  • is this the Ten Version or the Lost Dogs version?

  • @powerofktulu the ten version. i'm partial to the lost dogs version myself

  • Inspired from going out w/ the RHCP on tour...

    whatIGOTYOUGOTTAPUTITINYOU...

  • i'm sooooo happy this song was not on the american version. it's total crrrrap!

  • @fantasticvegetables No. Shut up!

  • @fantasticvegetables

You literally have no idea what you're talking about

  • @dalcyte i do know what i'm talking about. i'm talking about this song. it's so..... so..... bad. it's a 6 minute jam, copying the red hot chili peppers. and they do the "bad mother shut yo mouth" thing (also unoriginal) 3 times. pearl jam isn't a comedy band. i don't get this. it's bad. if this is on ANY version of ten, i hope it was a hidden track. this definitely wouldn't make sense in the context of the album.

  • @fantasticvegetables haha. OO so making an unoriginal song makes you "so..so..bad" I'm not going to even grace that argument with a response it makes such bad sense in the context of music. Pearl Jam has a sense of humor (WOAH!), and this song is just funny. Maybe if you relaxed a bit and weren't so stuffy about what musicians can and can't produce based on the image that you think they've created for themselves, you could enjoy it a bit more :D

  • @dalcyte no, making an unoriginal song doesn't make a band "so.. so... bad". pearl jam is fantastic. they have written some amazing songs and will continue to do so. this is a departure from their normal, thoughtful approach to songwriting. i'm sure it was fun for them but, to me, this song sounds uninspired and lazy. i can appreciate humor in music, of course. this song is just a 5 minute and 38 second wank-fest that is, in my opinion, not funny.

  • @fantasticvegetables I see where you're coming from. I mean, I respectfully disagree. I think that though the music isn't that original, the musicianship is still high-class and not lazy. I mean, regardless of the length, I think the concept of a cannibalistic bus driver is actually really hilarious, and the lyrics are actually really funny. It is a rarity though, and unlike most stuff they've made... they've only played it 10 times in 18 years.

  • this song remind me red hot chili papers

  • Give dirty Frank away now

  • poor Mike! lol

  • I like how the last those three comments all said the same thing about this not being on ten, when the answer to their question was right below hahah

  • Freaky Styley, YEEAAAH!!!

  • hahahahaha AMAZING.genius lyrics - hey where's Mike McCready? My GOD, he's been ate!!!! LMAO this kinda reminds me of red hot chili peppers

  • @poeticpoverty

Yes it is on the European edition but not on the American.

  • @Mynster95 whaaat? xD

  • @Mynster95 don't worry, im vegitarian lol

  • @poeticpoverty yes this is.. for sure

  • @poeticpoverty it's also on the Ten reissue.

  • @poeticpoverty people are dicks, you were right,it's not on most versions of TEN

  • @ghostwhiskey It must be on a new remastered version because it is not on my 10 disc.I have had that cd since 92.I have dirty frank on a B-side cd..So i dont know how it got on ten??I thought they put it on Lost dogs because it was a rare track..I will have to dig my cd out and look at it..It has been a long time since i dug it out of my cd stash.

Peace and have a good 2012

  • Pearl jam wrote this song while on tour with RHCP, hence the similarity between the sound of this song and the chilli peppers. They thought that their bus driver was a crazy serial killer like jeff dahmer lol. GREAT SONG!!!

  • Don't you love hearing "Give it Away" err.... "Dirty Frank" I mean. Lol.

  • @cifra2 Nice you got that from me

  • @MrShotgunJesus

No, I got that back in 1992, first time I got my hands on Pearl Jam's CD. It's only now that I had the chance to publish it on You Tube... I didn't even bother to read the rest of the commentaries... the more we mention it, the better. It's way a coincidence that Pearl Jam was highly under the influence of ex-RHCP's Jack Irons at the time... I think that chances are big that Irons actually stole this song from Kiedis & co.

  • insane and crazy song... just awesome...

  • I was thinking this sounded like something the chili peppers would have done in the 80's. then I heard "I fuck'em just to see the look on their face" which is from Freaky Styley RHCP Circa 1985.

  • Eddie's voice is so deep in the early years.

  • Where's Mike McCready, my god, he's been ate!

  • A Dirty Frank yeaaahhhh

  • Bus drivin's harder on your head than on your feet, Dirtay Frank! :D

  • lol my brother calls them the system of a down of the 90's ... well with some meanings in the songs it's true

  • Your brother's a retard..System of a down is not even in PJ's league

  • @harkgoodsir i know he is XD

  • @bittersweetskull why? System of a down have been around since the 90s so the system of a down of the 90s IS system of a down

  • Lol this seems like Pearl Jam wanted to make there own version of Give it Away.

  • Why that Dirty Frank was a baaad mother- SHUT YO MOUTH HEY MAN I'M JUST TALKING ABOUT DIRTY FRANK

  • @ FrederikItaliener because they were in the same bus and wrote a song about the buss driver if i recal corectly

  • eddie do'n anthony how funny

  • Eats Meat!

  • 1:48

that dirty frank was a bad mother f..SHUT YOUR MOUTH! hey i was just talking about dirty frank

    LOL

  • It's not very easy to hear but if you listen very closely at 3:42 it sounds Eddie said "He'll get you"

  • @Ilovewashers i herd it

  • This was actually written as an tribute to RHCP, because of their touring together.

bonus-info, they have sampled Freaky styley in mid-song

  • 1:48 sounds like Primus

  • It did didn't it.

  • sounds a like red hot chilli peppers song?

  • Maybe are red hot chilli peppers songs that sound like a pearl jam song >_>''... but that's just my opininon !

  • ...long story....but I did'nt know the lyrics....now I know....just one of the 2% that are liking the Pearl Jam....different!

  • word soup

  • Matt Cameron = Much Better Drummer + Much Better of A Guy

  • Um, I think it's "cook 'em", not "fuck 'em". Get it? Cus he's a psycho.

  • @Noromongrel yh they just changed the part of fuck em' (by RHCP) to cook em'..... lol

  • in a book im reading it said this was about there bus driver who they joked about him being a serial killer cuz he had a bunch of beer under his chair after a long drive

  • Actually RHCP used that already on the song Freaky Styley in 1985 so thats before PJ was formed :)

  • Funky song :D

  • Feel the groove of PJ thanks to a drummer like Dave Abruzzesse. He is the man.

  • woops, krofodil i ment thumbs up..

I'm sorry.. little vague this day xD

That's why i listen to this song..

    it cheers me up n____n

  • dose'nt the guy saying "that dirty frank was a bad...... bla bla bla" sounds like fez?

  • It kinda does LOL

  • sick tune

  • there is copying RHCP. PJ gave them credit in the liner notes of Lost Dogs. This song was written on the road when they toured with the chili peppers.

  • 1:48 - 1:53

    Made my day

  • haha i loved it when i first heard that

  • That is a good part of the song.

  • @krofodil Lol Shaft would be proud

  • this is not at ten

  • yes on european edition...

  • @Mynster95 - could purchase it in both USA and Canada though - just cost about 7 bucks more - had the amazing 'footsteps' on it, too :)

  • @ciroac30

    This song is on TEN,

    The european album that is.

  • @ciroac30 Well, I bought this in 1992 when it was released in Europe, so yes, it's on Ten but not on the American edition from 1991.

  • eddie was in a cover band of the chilles before pearl jam

im sure they had some early influence

  • at about 4:10 when they start chanting thats the lyrics of the chili peppers "freaky styley"

  • This song came out before Give it Away.

  • thats because they made this tune with the chili peppers...in 91
