I am an American and I cant understand why my country will not help with what is going on in Darfur. We are one of the strongest nations in the world but yet we sit back and let this happen. If it were oil that was being jeapordized we would be there in a minute. I am not proud to be an American right now. My prayers go out so that we will take action and stop what is going on.
You will go down in history as the empire that DENIED the GENOCIDE of the FIRST CHRISTIAN NATION of the WORLD, The Armenians, while you conspired with the JEWISH BANKERS to defraud the world -- the same JEWS who had JESUS CHRIST CRUCIFIED. Americans, you torture and kill in the name of democracy and freedom. YOU are an ABOMINATION.
WE is a strong word giving life to the abomination in which you speak is of miry clay. It has no form, no life. It is parasitism. We do not represent the things we cannot control. Bush bashing yes we elected him but doings of preceeding leaders, is the same thing in which this hanus and inhumane video is about.
no we are not an abomination
just a country who comes from a checkered past
the same thing people will say in thirty years of Sudan.
You certainly are entitled to your freedom of speech for which YOU are torturing and killing presently. YOU elected Bush AND the Democrats who are STAYING THE COURSE. America is a democracy and THEY represent YOU.
Don't call out an entire nation, call out international foreign policy that prevents us from just jumping in. Call out our President, do you know the millions of Americans that donate money to help relieve this area? Last time I checked there are 201 sovereign states, as an American I would like to see our nation as a whole do more to prevent this, but do not pin this on the U.S please try to have a general understanding of politics and society before you let you emotions run wild.
America is a democracy and Americans are responsible for the actions of their government. You can't have your cake and eat it too. If the U.S. government does not represent the American people, than America is neither a republic nor a democracy.
Absolutely man I agree with you on that, but you're not understanding that our foreign policy as well as United Nations sanctions prevents the U.S to step in militarily or finacially, although we do donate massive sums of money to relief aid agencies. I agree with your idea man, but you are thinking in political theory not reality.
America IS NOT A DEMOCRACY, it is a 2 party dictatorship, I am not over exaggerating, in my state alone you either have to chose to vote republican or democrat or you can not vote at all, its sick. but besides that, their just niggers who cares its what niggers do.
I feel really sorry for these people, but what do the fathers exspect living in the middle of the desert with no economy, no agriculture. They never had money because it can't happen where they live.
Why is everybody ignoring this this is happening while the damn president keeps bull shiting in iraq i mean just put yourself in their shoes and you will feal the pain we gotta do something ASAP
you dont believe in the 1 million people that died in rwanda? so what happened? those bodies just laid themselves out with machete chops on their faces?
These people are those who needs help rather than helping other country that has already have wealth and hope.
They just seek a simple things. "Peace and to live a normal life"this is the most challenging that can democracy can give..free them from barbaric government.
Now, if the USA goes in without a UN charter everyone bitches. Hell The USA had a charter to go into Iraq and still people bitch and moan. For those of you who like to bitch and maon about the USA, i ask, are you willing to support the USA if it intervenes? If no will your nation intervene?
People need to ween themselves OFF the government and take the world in thier own hands and stop waiting for someone to "do something". Listening to depressing songs aint doing something either. If I wasn't dirt poor myself, I would do allin my power to help these people. Our countries leaders should be ashamed of themselves.
If we go in and try to solve the problem that will just make them all reliant on the u.s. help forever and when we leave the problems will all happen again, we are not miracle workers, they need to solve this themselves.
You say that united states sucks for not helping but we cant help everything that happens in the world, we dont have infinite money to give to everyone, we are in dept, i would love to have everyting in darfur and the rest of the world be peacful but sometimes you just have to let them help themselves.
i'm all for america not meddling in other people's business. but they sure have enough money to protect their oil interests all over the world.
but this isn't about helping anybody out. the whole world needs to do something about this. this is beyond a human rights issue. this is a humans existing issue. how can we just stand by and do nothing when people are just slaughtered, period.
Yep, you have nothing to give us, and by us, it's we the people. You have no cheapchocolate, coffee, steel, oil, or any other industry we need, so yeah, we dont care. It's everyday people that want their iPod and Starbucks and thats more important than dead Africans. Sad, but true. Why do you think zero wealthy nations are helping aside from PR moves?
You are getting and using something we have fought long and hard for. Who's government fights for and maintains this forum and freedom from censorship. People have no appreciation until someone tries to shut them up. You have a forum and a voice.
praying isn't gonna do dick all, sending aid isn't gonna do dick all, the only way is to go there and give the citizens the needed resources to be independent while making sure violence is prevented using extreme force, teaching them peace is not the way this society is brought up on trauma death and violence, they are not afraid and unless they a forced to stop the violence they never will
When real Genocide happened in Rwanda,US did not care a nut. The exact number of innocent civilians killed by US army in Iraq is still unknown. While in darfur, there are just tribe conflicts cause by lacking of water, can be easily solved by development and right policy, but this time US magnified it to Genocide,US did not want it be solved peacefully, they want the fall of Sudan govenment,Why??? The reason is there is oil in Sudan, and this country is not under the control of US.
I just realised that I forgot to mention in my list of scary happenings we are faced with right now...the war in Iraq, daily suicide bombers, the dead 3,000 American Soldiers, the injured, the dead and wounded European soldiers, 15,000 Iraqi men, women, and children dead and many wounded, or those who lost their lives during 9-11 or the other terrorist attacks around the world. This world is falling apart. Did I mention the divided United States?
I don't believe America gets blamed everytime they get involved with other countries. I just think America is just a little too quick to assume that everyone is going to play ball with them with the threat of military action. In Africa, there's a way of doing things, it's slow and frustrating, but it's the way things have been done for years. America needs to understand that not everyone thinks the way they do.
This is a very scary time in the world. Being a savior to these people is really a good thing and they do need our help as well as Soviet help, German help, Brittish help, Canada's Help, Africa's help, Australia's help, Asia's help, Japan's, China's, India's, Iran's, all countries not just the United States.
Russia's new missile technology, North Korea's nuclear missile launch, G8 protest, missile shield in europe, terrorist plot at New York J.F.K., Russia claims this may be the begining of another cold war, just to name a few things. Who wants to run for president? I didn't feel good this morning... it's the Bush Administration again. The traffic light dosen't work, it's Bush's fault. Two years early and we have candidates saying vote me in. What president hasn't had casualities during time of war?
Every time America gets involved with these other countries, America is to blame for something. America is probably the least greedy country. Thank God that the leader of America dosen't send it's people to genocide. Let's be diplomatic about this! I agreee that Darfur needs help and fast but all this Bush bashing mud slinging dosen't solve anything. Thank God our leader has the back bone to defend America from terrorist. So much is going on right now...
WHAT! the united states robs its own people to send economic aid all over the place! This is whack stuff here man, no doubt but you gotta stop thinkin that the united states should drop what its doing and help whoever might need it. on top of that if the US did do something, people would bitch it wasent enough or something else. ask saudi arabia for help. ingrate.
@NappyRootzz Exactly. IT is discusting to leyt what is happening in Darfur go on, while we are trying to make war with The Middle East. IF we want to help someone, Lets go to Darfur, and help, if it means sending in AH-64's to oblitorate all who carry weapons in that area, and to Declare War on Sudan, to stop their Genocidal Actions towards the Free Darfurians, lif you know what I mean.
U been near Africa? Stop blaming colonization, it's in the past. It's the here & now that's important. Warlords & dictators rule Africa. To stabilise Africa, occupy for 3/4 generations & rebuild everything. Show people the way basically. Hard when men pointing ak47's (china) and AR15's (US), but it's only way. U that concerned, contact me and join me in Darfur?
Fuck You! I graduated high school, and just because you have lived there does not mean you know everything that occurs in Africa, or the root of why things are they way they are today! Read some Books, and discover how Africa was raped by European countries, and although European countries left hundreds of years ago you can see there seed of destruction that was present in Rwanda's genocide and in the politcal/humanatarian crisis in South Africa and many other nations of Africa, DUMB ASS!
Saying it is "just" Africa is absolutly not the reason. It's peoples ignorence. So many people do not know about Darfur and did not know about Rwanda. If we raise awareness we can make a change. This is our world we CAN make a change. Spread the word, raise awareness, donate, this will help Darfur.
Ignorance!!?? Violence in these countries has been going on for generations! Everyone knows that Africa is hell on earth. Books have been written about it since the turn of the century. Movies have been produced since film was available. People aren't ignorant about it, they choose to ignore it until they get an attack of conscience, or tv's boring that week. Please!!!!!
you stupid mutha fucker, you ignorant douche bag. why do you think there is violence in africa, because there savage people who love war? FUCK NO!!! It is European countries who came enslaved, destroyed native cultures, and left Africa to rot in hell who are to blame for the extreme poverty and sicknesses that plague that beautiful continent, Dumb ass
I live on that beautiful continent. I've worked all over Africa. European countries left Africa many years ago, long enough for Africa to sort itself out. Honestly you make me laugh. Do a bit of research (start with Zimbabwe - yes it's in Africa, get a map). I din't say Africans love war, no one does, it's just a fact of life with no real solutions available. And seriously, you can't write a comment without resorting to cursing? Perhaps finishing highschool will help?
unfortunately, Africa, as the person below as mentioned, is nearly impossible to right from the wrong. violence and crisis sprawl over the entire continent, and personally, I beleive that it will never be solved...
the crisis altogether is too great for the western world to control...
This is Africa. There will always be conflict in Africa - absolute fact of life. Violence is Africa's response to problem solving. Hasn't changed since dawn of time, wont eva change. It's a part and parcel of life here, as is corrupt goverment officials, tribal & ethnic hate ect.
i have a question why was the genocide started i was just seeing google earth and then i saw crisis in darfur and some fire i click it and it was all destroyed so plz respond me plz i want to know what the hell is hapening
you really want to want to know WHY we dont send troops to Sudan? You Really want to know? Well We Dont Send Troops To Sudan Because THere IS no Oil THere Worth Wild For THe US Army To Go There!.
Typing wild instead of while is usually not considered a spelling error but a mind processing error. 1 error is also not "so many spelling mistakes" as you say, someone might say you have some math (counting) problems ;)
I might be simplefying the whole conflict there but what is going on there is a real HOLOCAUST against black people performed by Arab muslims. This is why as an Israeli i feel that my government should do a lot more to help the refugees from Sudan(more than just helping a small bunch coming from Egypt). We could have had the same fate by the same agressor(fanatic Arab militias)if we didn't have a strong army to protect us. My government should do more for our those poor people.
You are an inspiration, I am creating ribbons for darfur awareness as my class project for business because I have been full devoted to the darfur awareness campaign and I was wondering if i could use this video in my presentation, if so please tell me because i would be honored. Thank you again
The problem is that sending troops into Africa to stop the genocide only makes things worse. The entire country needs to be re-built - which means a long-term commitment by any force. The problem is that as soon as the peacekeeping force pulls out, the crap starts all over again. This is Africa, it's tribal on tribal mostly. Petitions do nothing. Nothing short of an invasion and occupation will help. All these people just want happy lives. With no economy to speak of,it is never going to happen.
Because it was in Yugoslavia and not in Africa. People living on other continents need to understand that Africa is totally unlike anything you've ever experienced. Africa is literally still wild. Life means nothing here, and I mean nothing. Rebels feel nothing to rape and murder their way through the countryside, maiming as a fear tactic as they move through. I live in Africa, I get to see and experience it. I'm sorry if I'm against the flow here, but it's just the way things are here.
"Not on My Watch." SAVE DARFUR. Stand up, Speak out. "No personal action is too small. For the sanctity of the human race it is imperitive that we not stand idly by as innocent civilians in Darfur continue to be victims of unthinkable brutality"-Don Cheadle and John Pendergast. Take a stand. Raise your voice. The time to act is now. Let people know what is going on in Darfur. Raise Awareness.
"Remember: silence helps the killer, never his victims"-Elie Wiesel (holocaust survivor)
I notice a lot of posts of what can we do? Remember the UN has done pretty much absolutely nothing because they say these are internally displaced people in the internal workings of a country. If Germans started rounding up all Jews in Germany and sending them to "camps" I think something would be done. Anyone starting a petition with the aim to get 100 million signatures worldwide to force those lazy bastards at the UN to actually do what they're meant to.
my ancestors were taking as slaves,so i live a peace full life here inn the US i guess we all take things for granted of what could have been. i bet i want even be 16 right now if the slave trade didnt happen. i would be dead just like inn thos pics. thats alot to think of."whoo... safe"
1. This is not about you. 2. At least show some respect for your ancestors 3. Are you implying that slave trade was a good thing? 4. Your living in peace in the US is not your personal achievement.
the slave trade wasnt a good thing. but its the wat iff thing i am talking about.there was help along the way for my ppl but im not saying its..ah forget about it maybe u dont under stand me cuz i live in a place where we explain things diffrently then where u r from.
I am sorry I did not realize at first that you are only 16. But why wouldn't you be 16 today if it were not for slave trade? I hope you are working hard in school. Privilege is not an achievement. And achievement without empathy is hollow. There are countless descendants of slaves like you in 'peaceful America' who did not live to see their 16th birthday due to needless gun violence. Again I am sorry for my harsh words earlier.
Truethfully, I don't give a care who flipping started this. Does it really matter? What we must all do, no matter race, religion, country, hell, I'll add music preferences to the list of differences. We've got to do the best we can to help eachother.
Belgium made this mistake in Rwanda with the Tutsis and the Hutus. Yet refused to help when things got out of control. It's one of those things where people say "omg that's horrible" and go back to eating their dinners. YOU can make a difference. Also, visit InvisibleChildren dot com for the Crisis in Uganda.
And also people who started all this shit is belgium and those dumb people spliting these people in two groups GJ for fucking half the world up... seriously
i feel so bad for these people but i dont know what we can do over there, sad part is that there is nothing there that benifits anyone thats why no one is helping... i like the government but i dont know how we can help
Lets delve into the GDP/debt ratio. Just to help you out here. Our nations deficit is actually shrinking. The budget deficit now stands at about 1.4 percent of the nation's GDP, well below the 2.3 percent that's been the norm since 1970's. And in 2008, the US deficit as percentage of GDP is projected to be at 0.7%.. I see a STRONG rapidly expanding economy...
Japan is a our main financier. China would be shooting themselves in the foot by not buying up our debt which is actually shrinking when you look at it as a PER CENT of GDP. The USD remains strong against markets that we do most of our trading with. The asian currencys. And you think the EUs future is set? HAH What an ass clown. The CIA has said that the EU will more then likely collapse in 15 years time unless they radically reforms there ailing welfare systems.
Oh it has its benefits to other nations hell bent on pillaging africas abundant natural resources (mainly oil). For instance russia loves that these ppl are killing one another. They get to build these oil refineries while someone else is kicking the ppl who live on the lands out. ITs good for business in that sense...
As for china... chinas growth rate is unsustainable. And in order for them to catch up to the US by 2030 it would take a chinese ecnomony that would have to grow at 12% from not till 2030 just to have the same size economy as the US. Compare GDP per capita and it would take china 4 times as long to catch up with the US.. And the one child policy is beginning to take its toll. It will undoubtedly get worse in the future..
If US,EU or send in any peace keeping troops. All the Islamists and Jihadists will get involved and turn it into another Iraq. Any excuse to attack westeners.
leaders and elites assumingly civilized ignored human being and, so the filthiest of demonic alms as they ignored thier own mankind implicates the backwardeness & awakewardeness of world as well as their representatives like UN that we will have to travel zillion more miles towards horizon to horizon to reach to our destination of civilization when we all
begin understand to share equally and love each other.
how liberal of you to throw in the saddam reference in there, oops! ya just lost my attention !
you hurt your cause by being an iraq basher, hey, lets just help those people that YOU want to help !
if bush sent troops to darfur, jessee jackson, al sharpton and the democrat party would accuse him of killing black people ! even if they were the bad guys ! thats how liberal scumbags opperate
Oh, and if you want to solve the problem, you should probably know the roots of it. Why is it that they are in a civil war? Hmm, possibly radical Islamic tribes vying for control, and you bet your ass they love to kill Christians. Research to the spread of Islam in Africa. The rest of Africa is messed up due to sex, aids and the odd warlord here and there.
The crisis in Darfur is a radical religious war. Try policing that. It would be uglier than Iraq by a LARGE margin.
As for you saying it would be worse to send troops in.. How? We're talking about entire villages being wiped out by attack chopters and a bunch of idiots with 50 cals on the back beds of a pickup. An apache longbow would take care of those threats before they even became a threat to said village.
Really well done my ass. The person butchered the English language and placed blame on the US for inaction. WTF? 6 billion people live in the world and the US is not responsible for everything. Where is the call for action from China or the EU? You do know they are both going to become the world's largest economies by a long shot in the coming years. This is complete trash from a person OBVIOUSLY from the US because they're so damn naive to think the world revolves around their actions.
Hold on sparky? Are you flaming me? I agree that the US shouldnt be held responsible for whats occuring in africa. Its the entire worlds fault for sitting around doing nothing. And the EU to be the worlds largest economy in the coming decades? Not with that stagnant economy of theres and population crisis. china will surpass the EU and Japan by 2030 but NOT the US.
Hah, the EU is already larger than the US. Hahaha, boy do I even need to respond to this one? Taken as a single entity, it is larger than the US by over a trillion (though per person the US does 35% better).
the EU is larger yes. However if you think that will last your naive. The EU annually has a slower growth rate then the US. A 2% growth rate in the EU is considered a boom while a 2% in the US is considered a slow mediocre growth rate. The US averages out at about 3.5% per year in growth terms. Thats something that is unheard of in the EU. Just who will out last who? The stagnating economy or the growing one?
In the last 5 weeks the USD has dropped 5% against almost all major currencies, 12% vs. New Zealands. At this point in time, they are printing massive amounts of money to pay off debt, somewhat akin to what the Weimar Republic did to pay off reparations to France.
Eventually, once China quits buying up Treasury Bonds to keep the USD alive, the dollar will collapse quite brutally. China's reserves went from $1 trillion USD to $1.2 trillion in the last few months alone, THAT IS UNHEARD OF, and that is the reason the USD only dropped 5%.
I love the US and I think this is absolutely sad what they are doing to their economy, but if you think they have a better economic outlook than Europe based on growth figures alone, I'm sorry, you're just a god damned idiot.
If it wasn't for China buying up USD, the inflation rate would be astronomical right now. Some experts believe it would be around 10-15% per year. Taken in terms of how much extra money is flowing around, that is 10-15% of the total USD being printed every year. That is one of the reasons that everythign seems to be going good. It has to be put somewhere, so the money gets thrown into stocks. If China dumped its reserves alone, it would crash the US economy.
I'm not sure if a previous post actually posted, but just in case it didn't, I'll re-explain something not commonly known in NA. While China WILL become the largest economy in the world, they are also the fastest growing economy in the world. Beijing estimates that by 2040 they will surpass the US and EU economically, but by that point in time, the 4-2-1 rule will hurt them quite badly.
Basically, 4 parents have 2 kids that have 1 kid. China is the fastest ageing society in the world. By 2040, as high as 32% of their population will be over 60. The more you know!
It's actually most of Europe's fault for these crises. They split up africa based on their own likings. Not based on tribes. Belgium did this with Rwanda.
I do think the US should do more (send troops) to the region.. However, the ppl who are trying to spin this off as being americas fault are simply ill informed chip munks who astoundingly have access to the internet.. Where is the call for Europe to do something? How about India, china etc? The list goes on. If your going to call one out why not call all of them?
tifius, The inability of the rest of the world to do anything to halt genocide in Darfur and elsewhere is evidence of how such problems can only get addressed if and when America addresses them. Meanwhile the EU just sits on there fat pompous asses and points at the US because of there own incompetence to do anything to halt such atrocities..
I say the US needs to work on its global policeing skills, if theyre gonna be the greatest military power on earth then they should fuckin well send troops do Darfur NOW! whats the fucking problem?
Hey, what so much hostility towards the US? Last I checked the EU wasnt doing a damn thing. Lets not turn this into a US bashing thread. The INTERNATIONAL community needs to do more. Sending more money wont help as that merely funds the corruption.
Hostillity towards the U.S. You have got to be kidding. You must not be up on you current events Take your head out of the sand. The "US" Is doing that to Iraq and were funding the enemy. There also helping the Muslim extremist in Sudan to do that, like funding it! They think if they give them there "privecy" they won't blow the U.S's cover on the atrocities there comitting. The klist goes on and on in the U.S
cxhaxor, Take your head out of your ass long enough to understand that the US isnt responsible for everything unholy. That is anti american sentiment that has no backing. Just your biased, anti american veiw. So shut your bigoted mouth ya dirty bitch!. And the US aid to Africa outstrips the EU 15-1. So I would say that the US is doing considerably more then the the rest of the world let alone the EU...
There is only one way to call an emergency and massive defensive force to help people in Darfur, someone must make a call to the U.S., ooooppssss, i meant to the U.N. and say they found massive oil reservers all over Darfur, that should get their atention.
War is business. Do you really think that people who kill for food have the ability to build ak-47's? Do you think terrorists are the one's who suply them RPG's and M16's? If governments wanted to stop war they would stop making bullets. If you want to make a contribution to end war in the world don't work for the "defense" industries.
You can build an Ak-47 with 19th century techniques mate, if they can be made in Pakistan in small villages without "real" industries then they can be made anywhere, anytime.
O.k., i didn't knew that. My point was that for the weapons industry to be alive, people have to die or else they wont sell. Thanks for the info on the a.k.'s.
Why dont we round up all racist, and have ourselves a fun filled day of shooting? Honestly shut the fuck up you fucking incest pieces of shit. And before you go calling me a nigger, know this, im a white man, and whats going on over there is a fucking travesty. So show some respect, these are human beings that have a right to be here as does anyone(included are your incest asses.)
Its just typical anything happening in Africa the world doesn't give a crap, Its like that quote from Hotel Rwanda by Colonel Oliver: [explaining why the world will not intervene] "You're black. You're not even a nigger. You're an African."
Damn those corrupt UN bastards especially Kofi 3 years of genocide and no action!! Useless
thats so true! i dont get how a genocide in Rwanda happens and we all say we can't let history repeat itself, and history is repeating itself in Darfur.
The European Union has 13 Battlegroups on stand by. NATO has a 25,000 man strong Rapid Reaction force. Many countries contribue troops to the UN force generating procedure. Why the fuck is no one doing anything when they can. Send in some troops for fucks sake and stop stalling. Makes me sick.
4 minutes and 34 seconds of nonsens, and still nothing learnt about Darfur. For example, what do you mean by "rebels"? There are several militia/rebelling groups active in the area. You plead for someone to "send troops", but are not even close to grasp what these kind of conflicts emerge from, what causes it, and the role western countries play in this. Actually, the world would probably be a better place without this sentimental mumbo-jumbo.
well at least people know that there is a problem in darfur...do the rearch and find out more you lazy ass, i dont see you trying to make anything like this...stop whinning and get a life. actually i find this video very touching soooo...please u aint no damn simon cowell so shut the hell up
this is so distressing..so unfair that our governments seem to blank the problem in Darfur. I guess there's nothing in it for them financially. These are our brothers and sisters...we have a responsibility for them.
i'm khmer, the khmer genocide was painful to watch, hear or think about, evertyhing was destroyed there, so i know how y'all feel, i don't want another genocide goin' on killin' innocent people, somebody or country needs to help these people, foreal.
Darfur-a disgusting shame to humanity. Let what ever God there is have his justice on us, those who have had the power to help, and have not. I wouldn't waste my time blaming governments. I blame all of us. United, we are the government. And we offer so little voice to Darfur.
ever heard of genocide scrub? this is an genocide belive it or not. And your comment, is bred from the same ideals as hitler. your a dumb mother-fucker and you havent quite evolved to modern times yet.
un-fortunately, the united nations seems to agreed and most likely will not intervene with darfur becuase we have absolutely nothing to gain economically from helping these people. sad but true
ghaaaa Iraq was far less worse, in fact, the americans had no honest reason to go into Iraq, and now the countries screwed up. Darfur is an actual crisis (in other words, they might not have nuclear weapons ;D)
This article is definitely appropriate for all ages and all races. Let us provide awareness for ourselves, and to those who are willing, take some weapons with tranquizer darts, and have ourselves a little trip to this region
Yes, I wish one politician would show the truth too, but truth of it is, is that politicians only address issues that are of a concern to the public, and the media is the only outlet where citizens concerns are expressed. The only way the media will publicize the Darfur genocide is if induviduals act locally to promote information, discussion, and compassion towards this tragedy.
I just wish ONE politician would just tell the truth. Intervention offers no clear economic benefit to the United States. As was clearly shown in Bosnia, the west only cares about ethnic cleansing when the victims look like 'we' do. If the people in southwestern Sudan were white our troops would have been there four years ago. WE ALL KNOW THIS TO BE TRUE! Yet we do nothing but talk....shame on all of us....
Thankyou for the video, awareness does need to be raised to stop this genocide. However, this video could be made usable for campaigns to raise money and awarness if the spelling and punctuation errors are corrected.
All it gets is about 15 seconds between weather and sports on BBC. America will not help, UN have their frankly speaking "idiotic" rule of not shooting at people unless your being attacked with force, this is exactly what happened in Rwanda, and it first takes a movie like "Hotel Rwanda" to make people aware of problems. Sorry to say but i don't the western world will bother taking a view into reality unless it puts their capitalist world at stake.
You don't even know the half of it! It took George Clooney to make people aware of Darfur in America, how do think that makes me feel as an American. It's like where do I begin, that most of Hollywood loves Clinton not realizing that he halted interference in Rwanda, that they wouldn't call it a genocide when it was! Liberals will scream about the Iraq war but won't say shit about Palestine.
the US should be pressuring the UN to do something about it after all the UN was formed for just this reason but they have turned this org. into a den of theives hell bent on blood and money...America should stop giving them money and military support and take that money and support to darfur
how about the we do send troops in...there is actually a problem this time, unlike all the other times when the US sent in troops because they didnt like a country, and were rightfully blamed.
As an American I am sad to say that is true, we did not stop Rwanda and we did not do much to quell the situation in Liberia, but if Obama is president that will change. So from this individual American's perspective either the rebels along with Chad's support fight back or they wait for 2008 and something might really happen.
hooahinfantry -- i coulnt have said it better myself..every tragedy that happens in the world the U.S. gets blamed for it..well u know what..why dont ppl also blame russia..italy..uk..frace..germany..and all them other wealthy nations
We don't send troops to Sudan because they're on population reduction plan. Hell we're thinking about reducing whole earth populations to 20%.

I am an American and I cant understand why my country will not help with what is going on in Darfur. We are one of the strongest nations in the world but yet we sit back and let this happen. If it were oil that was being jeapordized we would be there in a minute. I am not proud to be an American right now. My prayers go out so that we will take action and stop what is going on.

your question is in your statement. the government asks: if we have nothing to gain, why be there at all?

AMERICANS,
You will go down in history as the empire that DENIED the GENOCIDE of the FIRST CHRISTIAN NATION of the WORLD, The Armenians, while you conspired with the JEWISH BANKERS to defraud the world -- the same JEWS who had JESUS CHRIST CRUCIFIED. Americans, you torture and kill in the name of democracy and freedom. YOU are an ABOMINATION.
insidebetween 4 years ago

Last time I checked there are 201 sovereign states, as an American I would like to see our nation as a whole do more to prevent this, but do not pin this on the U.S please try to have a general understanding of politics and society before you let you emotions run wild.
donnieD20 3 years ago
America is a democracy and Americans are responsible for the actions of their government. You can't have your cake and eat it too. If the U.S. government does not represent the American people, than America is neither a republic nor a democracy.
insidebetween 3 years ago
Absolutely man I agree with you on that, but you're not understanding that our foreign policy as well as United Nations sanctions prevents the U.S to step in militarily or finacially, although we do donate massive sums of money to relief aid agencies. I agree with your idea man, but you are thinking in political theory not reality.
donnieD20 3 years ago
America IS NOT A DEMOCRACY, it is a 2 party dictatorship, I am not over exaggerating, in my state alone you either have to chose to vote republican or democrat or you can not vote at all, its sick. but besides that, their just niggers who cares its what niggers do.

I live on that beautiful continent. I've worked all over Africa. European countries left Africa many years ago, long enough for Africa to sort itself out. Honestly you make me laugh.

How come intervention against genocide worked in former Yugoslavia?
HeshimaJameni 4 years ago
Because it was in Yugoslavia and not in Africa. People living on other continents need to understand that Africa is totally unlike anything you've ever experienced. Africa is literally still wild. Life means nothing here, and I mean nothing. Rebels feel nothing to rape and murder their way through the countryside, maiming as a fear tactic as they move through. I live in Africa, I get to see and experience it. I'm sorry if I'm against the flow here, but it's just the way things are here.

I see a STRONG rapidly expanding economy...
sandman0420 4 years ago
Japan is a our main financier. China would be shooting themselves in the foot by not buying up our debt which is actually shrinking when you look at it as a PER CENT of GDP. The USD remains strong against markets that we do most of our trading with. The asian currencys. And you think the EUs future is set? HAH What an ass clown. The CIA has said that the EU will more then likely collapse in 15 years time unless they radically reforms there ailing welfare systems.

Ulchie 4 years ago
As for you saying it would be worse to send troops in.. How? We're talking about entire villages being wiped out by attack chopters and a bunch of idiots with 50 cals on the back beds of a pickup. An apache longbow would take care of those threats before they even became a threat to said village.
sandman0420 4 years ago
How is gassing people in Iraq less evil? What the hell was the point of having that in the video? Justification to help them? Puh-lease!
Ulchie 4 years ago
Really well done my ass. The person butchered the English language and placed blame on the US for inaction. WTF? 6 billion people live in the world and the US is not responsible for everything. Where is the call for action from China or the EU? You do know they are both going to become the world's largest economies by a long shot in the coming years. This is complete trash from a person OBVIOUSLY from the US because they're so damn naive to think the world revolves around their actions.
Ulchie 4 years ago
Hold on sparky? Are you flaming me? I agree that the US shouldnt be held responsible for whats occuring in africa. Its the entire worlds fault for sitting around doing nothing. And the EU to be the worlds largest economy in the coming decades? Not with that stagnant economy of theres and population crisis. china will surpass the EU and Japan by 2030 but NOT the US.
sandman0420 4 years ago
Hah, the EU is already larger than the US. Hahaha, boy do I even need to respond to this one? Taken as a single entity, it is larger than the US by over a trillion (though per person the US does 35% better).
Ulchie 4 years ago
the EU is larger yes. The stagnating economy or the growing one?
sandman0420 4 years ago
In the last 5 weeks the USD has dropped 5% against almost all major currencies, 12% vs. New Zealands. At this point in time, they are printing massive amounts of money to pay off debt, somewhat akin to what the Weimar Republic did to pay off reparations to France.
Ulchie 4 years ago
Eventually, once China quits buying up Treasury Bonds to keep the USD alive, the dollar will collapse quite brutally. China's reserves went from $1 trillion USD to $1.2 trillion in the last few months alone, THAT IS UNHEARD OF, and that is the reason the USD only dropped 5%.
Ulchie 4 years ago
I love the US and I think this is absolutely sad what they are doing to their economy, but if you think they have a better economic outlook than Europe based on growth figures alone, I'm sorry, you're just a god damned idiot.
Ulchie 4 years ago
If it wasn't for China buying up USD, the inflation rate would be astronomical right now. Some experts believe it would be around 10-15% per year. Taken in terms of how much extra money is flowing around, that is 10-15% of the total USD being printed every year. That is one of the reasons that everythign seems to be going good. It has to be put somewhere, so the money gets thrown into stocks. If China dumped its reserves alone, it would crash the US economy.
Ulchie 4 years ago
I'm not sure if a previous post actually posted, but just in case it didn't, I'll re-explain something not commonly known in NA. While China WILL become the largest economy in the world, they are also the fastest growing economy in the world. Beijing estimates that by 2040 they will surpass the US and EU economically, but by that point in time, the 4-2-1 rule will hurt them quite badly.
Ulchie 4 years ago
Basically, 4 parents have 2 kids that have 1 kid. China is the fastest ageing society in the world. By 2040, as high as 32% of their population will be over 60. The more you know!

Ah woops, typo in the 2nd reply...my bad...3rd post clears it up

There is only one way to call an emergency and massive defensive force to help people in Darfur, someone must make a call to the U.S., ooooppssss, i meant to the U.N. and say they found massive oil reservers all over Darfur, that should get their atention.

War is business. Do you really think that people who kill for food have the ability to build ak-47's? Do you think terrorists are the one's who suply them RPG's and M16's? If governments wanted to stop war they would stop making bullets. If you want to make a contribution to end war in the world don't work for the "defense" industries.
henrique21 4 years ago
You can build an Ak-47 with 19th century techniques mate, if they can be made in Pakistan in small villages without "real" industries then they can be made anywhere, anytime.
tifius 4 years ago
O.k., i didn't knew that. My point was that for the weapons industry to be alive, people have to die or else they wont sell. Thanks for the info on the a.k.'s.

So show some respect, these are human beings that have a right to be here as does anyone(included are your incest asses.)
sandman0420 4 years ago
Its just typical anything happening in Africa the world doesn't give a crap, Its like that quote from Hotel Rwanda by Colonel Oliver: [explaining why the world will not intervene] "You're black. You're not even a nigger. You're an African."
Damn those corrupt UN bastards especially Kofi 3 years of genocide and no action!! Useless

thats so true! i dont get how a genocide in Rwanda happens and we all say we can't let history repeat itself, and history is repeating itself in Darfur.

SAVE DARFUR!!!

The European Union has 13 Battlegroups on stand by. NATO has a 25,000 man strong Rapid Reaction force. Many countries contribue troops to the UN force generating procedure. Why the fuck is no one doing anything when they can. Send in some troops for fucks sake and stop stalling. Makes me sick.
comprellion 4 years ago
4 minutes and 34 seconds of nonsens, and still nothing learnt about Darfur. For example, what do you mean by "rebels"? There are several militia/rebelling groups active in the area. You plead for someone to "send troops", but are not even close to grasp what these kind of conflicts emerge from, what causes it, and the role western countries play in this. Actually, the world would probably be a better place without this sentimental mumbo-jumbo.

this is so distressing..so unfair that our governments seem to blank the problem in Darfur. I guess there's nothing in it for them financially. These are our brothers and sisters...we have a responsibility for them.

i'm khmer, the khmer genocide was painful to watch, hear or think about, evertyhing was destroyed there, so i know how y'all feel, i don't want another genocide goin' on killin' innocent people, somebody or country needs to help these people, foreal.
tooshy1 4 years ago

Teach your friends and family, and help them belong to a network of concern so that the media will publicize these events.

This article is definitely appropriate for all ages and all races. Let us provide awareness for ourselves, and to those who are willing, take some weapons with tranquizer darts, and have ourselves a little trip to this region
cruxvader 4 years ago
Yes, I wish one politician would show the truth too, but truth of it is, is that politicians only address issues that are of a concern to the public, and the media is the only outlet where citizens concerns are expressed. The only way the media will publicize the Darfur genocide is if induviduals act locally to promote information, discussion, and compassion towards this tragedy.
VROOT 4 years ago
I just wish ONE politician would just tell the truth. Intervention offers no clear economic benefit to the United States. As was clearly shown in Bosnia, the west only cares about ethnic cleansing when the victims look like 'we' do. If the people in southwestern Sudan were white our troops would have been there four years ago. WE ALL KNOW THIS TO BE TRUE! Yet we do nothing but talk....shame on all of us....

Forget that America won't do anything, what about other nations? More so, what about the UN. Darfur is a failure for the world.
maramz18 4 years ago
Thankyou for the video, awareness does need to be raised to stop this genocide. However, this video could be made usable for campaigns to raise money and awarness if the spelling and punctuation errors are corrected.

All it gets is about 15 seconds between weather and sports on BBC. America will not help, UN have their frankly speaking "idiotic" rule of not shooting at people unless your being attacked with force, this is exactly what happened in Rwanda, and it first takes a movie like "Hotel Rwanda" to make people aware of problems. Sorry to say but i don't the western world will bother taking a view into reality unless it puts their capitalist world at stake.
frederikschjoettz 4 years ago

If the U.S. sends troops to Darfur than Bush would just be accused of doing the same thing in Darfur and Iraq.
monkeyfeet122 4 years ago
Yeh except...there actually is a problem with Darfur...unlike Iraq...that had no real problem.
oweninc 4 years ago
lol. No problem except a dictator who killed over a million of his own people.
monkeyfeet122 4 years ago
149 people...how many people did america kill when it went into Iraq?
oweninc 4 years ago
No he wouldn't, but America doesn't care about Africa by and large. We didn't send in forces into Rewanda or Liberia and that is our sister country.
brick4sale 4 years ago
Amerika will not stand for this because they will bring peace and stability to the region in the name of freedom.

There is nothing America can gain from this in terms of money and power. Therefore, America won't do shit but "condemn" it.
BigP3 4 years ago
As an American I am sad to say that is true, we did not stop Rwanda and we did not do much to quell the situation in Liberia, but if Obama is president that will change. So from this individual American's perspective either the rebels along with Chad's support fight back or they wait for 2008 and something might really happen.
