So beautiful it made me cry - and he looked as gorgeous then as he did in 1980 when I sat, as a 13 year old girl figure skater, and watched him win gold at the Olympics. His skating still has more 'musicality and character' than any of the male skaters today, for all their 'quad jumps' *snorts*
@medusacascade66 I know he's no where near as tall as Robin, who will always be one of my very favourites in the sport, but Johnny Weir has tried to carry on the tradition of the beautiful, artistic program, but in the days of the new IJS and the quad club, skaters like Johnny and Robin just aren't welcome anymore..and it's a crime against the very rpemise on which skating first was created and celebrated as a sport so very long ago..I MISS those days and the judging that made artistry possible
@medusacascade66 'EchelonSummer' mentioned Weir, but, unfortunately, he has gone too far in the direction of a cheap show. I think Stephane Lambiel and Jeremy Abbott are those who have some of that musicality and character - Lambiel mostly in his exhibition programs done in the couple of last years, and Abbott also in some of his newer programs. Abbott's new LP is quite great, and also his exhibition program to Adele's song.
@medusacascade66 Of course, I know they are not on the level of Robin Cousins - at least yet. Although Lambiel probably has a few things that Cousins didn't have (and I don't mean the quad, and not even the spins) - to each his own.
Thank you for the video! Beautiful.

@medusacascade66 - That's for sure! I love Robin's skating. Glad to see so many videos of him posted in the past year.
