my top 10 favorite artists: Nick Drake, Bjork, Tori Amos, Fleet Foxes, The Beatles, Evanescence, The Gathering, Jeff Buckely, Mazzy Star, Blue October
This song is beyond gorgeous .. espiecially without that weird part at the end, haha. Thanks for putting this up, and for cutting it at the right place. ;)
Their music videos always make you do some thinking about the meanings of their songs. They just released the one for this song. it is on their website.
unless either one of you can write like Dickens, shut up. like it or not. Stop picking it apart to fit your taste. I really feel it fits nicely. I dont want anything changed.
Fleet Foxes would be so much better if they had a decent songwriter/lyricist:( ...for anyone who enjoys the vocal harmonies I strongly recommend Grizzly Bear, a lot more talent there too
I think I heard the first part covered by Bruce Hornsby. I think it was on P.R.I.'s (or is it NPR's?) the World Cafe with David Dye. Don't remember, but I know I've heard somebody old and famous cover it.
@skippingboy123 "You can't just take out parts of songs. You have to take it as the artist made" - The person listening to a chopped version of a song.
Holy hell. That "sunight over me no matter what I do" line is fucking perfection. His voice is one of my favorites EVER, even when it's soft. He's gotta use that raspy one more often though, because it's awesome.
Too many people complaining about the end of this song. What's the big problem with a bit of clarinet screech? I actually think that it really complements the uneasy strings of that section), it gives a sort of sickly feeling that I think is intended.
Anyway, the whole song is great, it hints at a greater range to come from them in the future, perhaps. That makes me happy.
@petersilktube I like that part. It kinda is the "argument" part for me, it could easily be an argument replayed with a fast forward button to create that sound, but alas it was a clarinet, thanks for the info, didn't know that! :)
I know what you mean about the "greater range to come" part of your comment. I'm really excited :) His voice was incredible in this song - you know the line I'm talking about, lol.
thanks for taking out the damn annoying ending of the full song. What a poor decision on their part to tack on that collage of irritating noise. It would have been cool if they just used cool sounding smooth raw electric guitar instead of ... that. Great song without "An Arguement" wish i could download it this way
"sunlight over me no matter what I do" the way he screams his soul out makes myself flip out!
