Does switching volage in your gun (say from 8.4 to 9.6) wear your gun out? I have a g36 and have only used 8.4 and was once told switching to a 9.6 will break the gun? What should I do? I want a faster rate of fire but am not sure if I should switch batteries.
i've heard through the grape vine that using a 9.6v battery on a gun that comes stock with an 8.4v will wear down the internals. is it just a minor change? and can i upgrade it so that it wont have a negative effect on my gun? thx in advance,
@MRfDestruction If you have a full metal gearbox then that should not happen. Maybe if you use the same STOCK gun for up towards 100,000 shots it could mess it up?
I have owned some 30+ guns, all run with at least a NiMh 9.6 or 10.8 and never had a GEAR WEAR problem. There are always exceptions...
where did u order your gun from please message me on facebook alejandro pizarro please im hoping to get a response becuase i really like tht gun and im waiting on cristmas to get it so please hit me up
@briskboy28 Mah determines how long the battery will last. There's an 800mah difference which should transfer into about an extra hour of play. Of course, that depends on your gun and the ammount of shooting you do.
Hope this helped. Please rate, comment, and subscribe.

@dmmmsarith To figure out how long to charge a battery from being completely dead:
(battery capacity (battery's mAh rating)/charger output (mA - usually written on the charger)) x 1.4(for NiCad batteries, 1.5 for NiMh batteries) = time (in hours).
@dmmmsarith Is your battery a NiCad? of so, then you must kill that battery before recharging it. make you charge it for a the maximum 5.5 hours. if you dont charge it all the way then your battery will not hold its charge as well. NiCads have memory. NiMH and Lithium ions have no memory

@BarCodeTheatre again, I say no, however, I don't have the experience with lipo batteries to give a definitive "yes." I would only use a lipo if I either 1. bought the gun lipo ready 2. upgraded it to be lipo ready or 3. didn't give a rats ass about my gun and was doing it for the hell of it.
@kabeb123456789 I just bought a g36c i live in Canada as well, but i ordered mine through the states from eastcoastairsoft so i didn't need to worry about getting a clear gun, instead i got one i liked. and the gun you're looking at for 97 $ sounds kind of cheap, and will likely break very quick, check the gears and bushings, if they're not metal the 9.6 will melt your gearbox and break your gun.. i recommend a higher priced gun, maybe the jg, or even the tsd gen II mil6 (g36c)
@sizzlinbakinVIDS look on your charger at the output in mah of your charger and divide that into 600 and multiply by 1.4 if it is a nickel metal hydride battery. that will give the approximate amount of time but the battery should be monitored the last hour or so and if the battery gets warm take it off the charger.

@snakefanatic1 9,6V Nunchuck Batterys fit with a bit of messing around in the G36C, and with a modification, you can get Smalltype Batterys up to 12V into the Handguard of the bigger G36 (G36K, G36)
I got a 9.6v battery but it is too big for the battery compartment on my jg g36c, but it will fit if i take the black cap off the end. Will it ruin the battery if i cut the plastic and take the black cap thing off?
I just bought a G&G Combat Machines M4, the nonblowback version, and when i plugged my battery in after it was done charging for 4 hours it didnt work, it also didnt work when i plugged it in after about 7 hours of charging....Do you know what the problem is?
i bought the MRC superbrain 960 (purple smart charger) and i have the stock echo1 p90 battery (mines is 9.6v 1200mah) to charge it...do i just plug it in and go?
I have the Echo1 P90, stock everything but I like what it shots. I get about 400 fps with the stock battery (9.6 V 1100 mAh). I am also into RC planes and have about 10 lipo batteries. IMO the best bet I have is a 3-cell 1320 mAh 11.1 V lipo battery. I even have a 4-cell 2650 mAh battery. What would these do to my gun?
@LukethedudeDesigns they would increase your rate of fire only. Echo 1 is not wired for long-term lipo use. Its up to you if you want to do that. I do not recommend it until you do the proper things to rewire your gun.
@KYairsoft What good is rewiring the gun? What does it change? I'm looking for a longer life, as long as my fps is 350+ and a spray of bullets come out I'm good. I def dont want to hurt my batteries though.
hey i have a mp5a airsoft gun its hk and it has a 9.6v battery but i want a higher one do u think my wires will burn if i get a higher volt battery. and i have a video of the gun. so please reply thanks.
dude since you know the most about battery's if a gun that norm holds like 7.2 volt will like a 8.4 burn it out? cause i don't wanna buy like a 200$ gun...thanks
I got my gun repaired by Airsoft GI (JG Full Metal M4A1) and to my suprise after they put in a wiring system they DID NOT put a fuse in. Then they reccomended that i use 9.6 and 10.2V batteries. Crazy right? I use a variety of a BEASTLY 7.2V 5200MA battery that lasts a week and has ok ROF ( I play field ) and a 9.6 1600MA. Should i add a fuse or is it really needed?
Hey i have a jg ak47 and recently the motor started moving slowly and won't shoot my buddy told me the battery or charger was broken ( i use a cheap chinese charger that i got from the box ) is it true and anyway i can fix it? thanks
If you charge your battery after every time you use it, it will NOT increase your life span of your battery. To ensure the longevity of your battery fulfills your needs and expectations you MUST drain your battery completely before charging it. It is bad for the cells to recharge them if they are not depleted. If you don't have a smart-charger with a discharge option their are a few ways to drain your battery. You can either shoot your aeg until completely depleted, or hook your batt. to a light
just saying you guys forgot to attach the other battery you had sitting on the end of the table

Super40jordan 2 months ago
@Super40jordan
Not to my knowledge. But you can get a good charger and not have to worry about your batteries at all.
Note: batteries do have a "lifetime". In my experience, after about 15 charges batteries begin to lose their power very quickly.

SamWazamTV 5 months ago
@SamWazamTV thanks for the sub!
You do not need a fuse as long as you're using a 9.6v NIMH or less. Just bypass it by connecting the two metal clips that hold the fuse in place.
If you feel unsafe without one you can buy one at Lowes, Ace, or just about any other hardware store.

snakefanatic1 1 year ago
@snakefanatic1 9,6V Nunchuck Batterys fit with a bit of messing around in the G36C, and with a modification, you can get Smalltype Batterys up to 12V into the Handguard of the bigger G36 (G36K, G36)
andromedarr 1 year ago
@snakefanatic1 andromedarr is correct. Its a tight squeeze in a G36c, but you can do it in much less than a minute with practice.
G36k is no problem up to 10.8 in my experience, though I haven't tried it with a 12v.

I got a 9.6v battery but it is too big for the battery compartment on my jg g36c, but it will fit if i take the black cap off the end. Will it ruin the battery if i cut the plastic and take the black cap thing off?
Roosterfart33 1 year ago
@Roosterfart33 It probably will if you are inexperienced.
The battery should fit. It is difficult but it will after working with it.

i bought the MRC superbrain 960 (purple smart charger) and i have the stock echo1 p90 battery (mines is 9.6v 1200mah) to charge it...do i just plug it in and go?
KiddRay808 1 year ago
I have the Echo1 P90, stock everything but I like what it shots. I get about 400 fps with the stock battery (9.6 V 1100 mAh). I am also into RC planes and have about 10 lipo batteries. IMO the best bet I have is a 3-cell 1320 mAh 11.1 V lipo battery. I even have a 4-cell 2650 mAh battery. What would these do to my gun?
LukethedudeDesigns 1 year ago
@LukethedudeDesigns they would increase your rate of fire only. Echo 1 is not wired for long-term lipo use. Its up to you if you want to do that. I do not recommend it until you do the proper things to rewire your gun.
KYairsoft 1 year ago
@KYairsoft What good is rewiring the gun? What does it change? I'm looking for a longer life, as long as my fps is 350+ and a spray of bullets come out I'm good. I def dont want to hurt my batteries though.
LukethedudeDesigns 1 year ago
@KYairsoft Ohh.. I'm sorry, do you mean change all the wires to handle the higher current?

aye when i dissasbled my kwa m4 it woludnt shoot and i notced that y battery was getting hot when i was trying to shoot what does that mean
Airsoftalienman 1 year ago
@Airsoftalienman idk what you did to your gun but its probably not put back together properly. You said it doesnt work... as in at all??
The battery would just heat up because its trying to(or is) releasing energy. its normal.

@Airsoftalienman it means you got a shitty gun or u fuked up the gun

Will an 8.4 volt battery charger work on a 9.6 volt battery?
DeadAimZack 1 year ago
I got my gun repaired by Airsoft GI (JG Full Metal M4A1) and to my suprise after they put in a wiring system they DID NOT put a fuse in. Then they reccomended that i use 9.6 and 10.2V batteries. Crazy right? I use a variety of a BEASTLY 7.2V 5200MA battery that lasts a week and has ok ROF ( I play field ) and a 9.6 1600MA. Should i add a fuse or is it really needed?

Hey i have a jg ak47 and recently the motor started moving slowly and won't shoot my buddy told me the battery or charger was broken ( i use a cheap chinese charger that i got from the box ) is it true and anyway i can fix it? thanks

can you charge a 8.4 battery with a 9.6v charger, becase i tried it and my battery charged in 30m (slow charger)
AdioX321 1 year ago
If you charge your battery after every time you use it, it will NOT increase your life span of your battery. To ensure the longevity of your battery fulfills your needs and expectations you MUST drain your battery completely before charging it. It is bad for the cells to recharge them if they are not depleted. If you don't have a smart-charger with a discharge option their are a few ways to drain your battery. You can either shoot your aeg until completely depleted, or hook your batt. to a light
