Thank you for sharing this wonderful track. Very underrated IMO but alongside Oxygene and Equinoxe for relaxation.
One of my favourite feature-length tracks ever. No one can produce like Jean-Michel Jarre in my opinion. I am legally blind and he's inspired me both in my 3d art and my music. I wrote a track inspired by this song, it's more haunting than relaxing though. If anyone is interest it's at: my youtube channel (Click my name) and is the first track ready to play.
yes tomtom2 but there are lots of good dive stories on the net too. My favorite site is the myscubastory site. They have scuba accident videos, shark ecounter dive videos, lost buddy stores, lots of true dive stories, and more. Type myscubastory into google and its the first one. Enjoy !
The complete album Waiting for Cousteau (En Attendant Cousteau) have 46 minutes of music, including Calypso parts 1, 2 and 3, but this track is a suite that lasts 22 minutes.
I went to JMJ's concert in Manchester in may 09, and this was the track playing while the arena filled up. I hadn't heard it for years, as I no longer have a tape player!!
it got used as well for his NEC concert as well, nice piece of music, one of his longest single pieces i think, as its 45mins long on the CD and the entire B-side of the cassette tape!
This remaind's me of that time that i'm alone submursed under water , end only the fishes go by my , that its when i'm so in peace with my self like now ... when im listening
Este no es sólo un tema clásico de Jarre, sino muy especial dentro de su discografía,que ha valido como sintonía de tantísimos programas de radio básicamente en todo el mundo y es,sencillamente, una genialidadad.Un saludo
You are welcome ! and THANK YOU for this video !.... what happen with video ??? THERE is EN ATTENDANT COUSTEAU ? I am waiting for COUSTEAU... by JARRE ...!!!
This is one of my favourite tracks of all time - I heard that the full version which was used as like a backing track for an art show or something was like 3 hours or something - I would give anything to get hold of the full version (not that the 46 minute version is short by any means)!!!

that full 46 min verision is awesome! I sometimes play it when I'm going to sleep, it's really relaxing.. a masterpiece!

Excellent video - captures the mood entirely.
I heard that even the CD edit at 46 minutes is still a small extract of the full thing which is supposed to be like 3 or 4 hours long!
I wish they would release Waiting For Cousteau in a full DTS surround sound mix - that would be amazing. My favourite track of all time.
