  • I laughed my spleen to bits HA Ha Ha Ha Ha

  • I LOVE ERIC ZANDERTGHNMKIOUYT

  • Oh I do apologise, On internal inspection , I further regret to inform that it is NOT Funny

  • @carielosgrandes In case you don't know Gene Kelly himself said this was the funniest thing he had ever seen. it was on a show when he was the guest and he thought they were going to show him doing the "singing in the rain" dance he admitted that he had had to sit watching the clip of himself so mayt times that he was tired of it. he was pleasantly surprised.

  • Just not funny, I'm Sorry!

  • @carielosgrandes no its funny you don't appreciate it

  • I laughed at the policeman checking for rain xD

  • I ALWAYS laugh when these two are on! Love them

  • im 15, these people are way before my time, but i do still love their comic style and unbeat jokes and songs. pure gold insperation.

  • @Edzi07 your fifteen and dont know how to spell inspirational......

  • @SkyrimLongplay Good grief. He just made a lighthearted comment complimenting the video and you decide to go all grammar nazi on his ass even though you left the apostrophe out of 'dont'..........

  • Brilliant Comedy that just dont happen anymore, please bring back comedy and drop the vulgar swearing in the comedy that they put in front of us these days- at christmas i just switch off the tv and play the greats - morecambe and wise / the two ronnies / tommy cooper:) / etc etc to me that is christmas - having a laugh with comedy you can watch even with your kids or parants and not cringe at the vulgar that comes from recent comedians

  • 0 people dont like singing in the rain....

  • 461 people know true comedy when they see it! 0 dislikes!? what a surprise :)

  • We need this kind of comedy again! Why is everyone hating Ant and Dec, though? Their kind of comedy is different to Morecambe and Wise's!!

  • Fabulous (it's all in Eric's expression) and one of the few times Ernie get's one over on Eric

  • one of my absolute favourite sketches, right up their with the breakfast sketch, Andre Previn and the one with the tall tapdancers

  • Little fact on this, Gene Kelly himself was at the filming of this very sketch he laughed his head off at this and said they were the greatest act he'd ever seen

  • @SuperHouseshaker I saw it when they showed it to him at a Variety Club dinner in his honour. Ernie was there and Gene Kelly said "Thanks Eric" to him.

  • They are so cool, and so is John Potts. ;-)

    Alan

  • trop fort!

  • another piece of share magic !!!!

  • i wAS reading the comments one time and some american thought ernie was george w bush.... har har

  • of all the skits they performed over many years, this is my favourite, and Ernie really got it right. brilliant interpretation.

  • sheer brilliance with these 2.....i mean ...how many ppl could get away with jumping into an animal trough???

  • People tend to forget that Eric & Ern were great dancers, as this sketch shows...

  • I reckon its Benzema!!!

  • that is funny the cop

  • there are 3 people that take credit 4 this eric morcambe the comedian ernie wise the legendary singer dancer and their writter eddie braben for this classic comedy sketch still makes me laugh

  • I love it when Eric gets his hand out when it's not actually raining! Ernies quite a good singer, aswell! :)

  • brings a smile everytime, i have sent this to friends across teh globe and it still works

  • it just makes you feel happy. they were Britains finest and still are. thank you

    ATVmidlands UK

  • what annoys me is that i dnt know anyone in my school that appreciates morecambe and wise's talent. i'm 15 and my dad showed me some christmas specials and since then i absulotely love them :)

  • Try Asian women # oneman4u.info #

  • classic!!!

  • Hahaha this just made my day 1234780129834560289745692834x's better. Thank you :D

  • pure comedic genius. thanks for upload

  • lol thanks so much for the upload lol whenever I see the original I just can't help but picture this sketch :) Classic

  • Wow no dislikes.

  • @shreyapanda I know, I think it says a lot about the brilliance of this sketch, that over 127, 000 people have watched this video, and not one of them disliked it

  • Just brilliant. Ernie Wise doing a reasonable Gene Kelly impression whilst Eric walks around completely bemused. What a duo!

  • Over 6 million watched the Victoria Wood drama about them earlier this year, and over 5 million watched the repeat of the 1976 Christmas show preceding it, so there are still plenty of us out there appreciating them.

  • u cant beat British comedy!

  • Eric and Ernie - absolute legends!

  • These two are the finest. It's a shame that so few appreciate them any more.

  • Simply brilliant!!! :-D

  • This is really one of the funnest skits ever.

  • No filthy talk,no swearing, just genius comedy at its best -long may it "rain " xxxx

  • Superb!

  • they r soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo funny shame they died they were a national treasure

  • @ AdaptorPlug. This has diddly squat to do with Asias Monsoon seaseon, its taken from the Gene Kelly film Dancing in the rain, You need to learn classics

  • comical genius

  • so funny.

  • I wish there was more family entertainment like this on that the whole family could watch together.Great memories.

  • R.I.P Morecambe and Wise the best comedy duo this country has ever seen =( Xmas won't be the same without you! Ant And Dec can go fuck themselves!

  • @spunkychickenpigeon True dat HERE THAT ANT AND DEC FUCK YOU BAD UP THE ARSE WITH HERPES AND..ummmmmmmmmmmmmm CHLAMYDIA AND.......................um MORE STDS AND STIS!

  • Absolutely love morcambe and wise dont make comedy like they used to bloody brill

  • lol I'm in love with this kind of comedy!! All my mates go on about all this other stuff but I just don't think it's as great as this!!

  • What is it about me? Im 13 and i LOVE all the oldies, Morcambe and Wise tommy cooper, All of them! :D thanks for the upload!! :D

  • @loveleona123 i can answer your question...YOU HAVE GOOD TASTE!

  • @loveleona123 Ok so im not 13, but i wasent born till 1976, so that meant i would of only been 4 at the begining of the 80's. But i do think the 70's was britains best decade for comedy. Im a huge fan of tommy cooper aswell. I dont think comedians concentrate on being jokerish and funny as much as they use to, i think their more about showing off now.

  • @xxrobfalconxx why did you say you were 13 when you're not? :S weirdo. being born in 1976 and appreciating old comedy is no grand achievement you know.

  • @MrsDanielRadcliffeN1 Read what i said again but only this time more thoroughly. I said "ok, so im NOT 13".

  • @xxrobfalconxx yes i read your last comment. my question is, why did you lie in the first place? nobody cares how old you are.

  • @MrsDanielRadcliffeN1 Ummm i didnt lie. If my original comment (which you miss read) said "i am NOT 13", then how am i lying?. Being born in 1976 does not make me 13.

  • These duos are brilliant!

  • They'll never, ever be bettered. How could you beat perfection?

  • hehehe

  • absolutely fabulous xx

  • Love this!!!! Eric is brilliant.

  • this has got to b my favorite sketch

  • This is class comedy and not a swearie word uttered.

  • I love this.. brilliant just brilliant!

  • Its mad to think that if these two were around today they'd be stuck on a cruise ship. They dont swear or make lewd comments, not even BBC3 would touch them.

I like most modern comedy but we still need more like this, gentle and fun for all the family.

  • I miss the Christmas day repeats. I loved watching these two, and have a copy of 'Positive Thinking' on my iPod to cheer me up on gloomy days.

  • a fantastic pair of entertainers,truly a legend,luv em

  • jnb432

I think if they were still around today they would have been banned by the PC brigade for offending Umbrellas in this pathetci country with its rubbish TV. Bring back the 70's with its sitcoms and comedians like this. Brilliant stuff

  • @whojanickabollokoff I fully agree with you PC brigade would never allow the comedy of the 70's and early 80's which is a shame, todays comedians can't get a laugh without having a swear word in the sentence IMO most of todays comedians should be kicked out and bring back the old school comedy... Constant repeats of the old comedy would be great IMO not just the occasional repeats on channels like GOLD and DAVE. Today's young would really enjoy it I know my relations kids do.

  • @Cryten1974 Dont get me wrong I aint no stuffy church visitor and do have a broad mind and fab SOH but when these guys were on the entire family watched together without fear of your parents looking embarrassed

All we get now is Fly on the wall cheap TV like Fishermen, Police, Ice Rd Truckers, Lifeboats, Ambulance Chasing, Driving Schools, Enviromental Health shows on at tea time!!!

  • I wonder what it would be like if Eric & Ernie were still here today, still giving us that pure magical comedy they used to give us.

R.I.P Eric & Ernie - The Best Comedians Ever.

  • marvlous

  • 0:18 - 0:36 > Wise dancing with that umbrella on his head and Morecambe's confused officer never fail to make me laugh till my jaw hurts.

    Legends!!

  • A classic moment in British TV comedy.. still funny all these years later.............

  • i wet thorgh flokes

  • its morcambe and wise, what more do i have to say??

  • Ernie was a great hoofer

  • SUPERB comedy act to one of the best movie classic-songs ever! Thanks to kittielips for sharing and to AdaptorPlug for sharing!

  • Thank you.

    5*****,

    Jennie.

  • @Kittielips

Thank YOU! This was one of the funniest videos that I've ever seen!

  • Wasn't Ernie talented?

    You're welcome.

    Jennie.

  • Yes it was, they ran down everyones fav episodes, - for me has to be this, the breakfast routine done to the "stripper" tune LOL, and the Andre Previn sketch, can never listen to that piano concerto quite the same way again LOL - oh and the joke re the ambulance or police vehicle that Eric makes as it zips past his bedroom window - "he'll never sell any ice creams going at that speed" or something along those lines LOL

  • As I remember Eric (the policeman) was not in the best of health when this was filmed but as with all great performers - the show had to go on.

  • There was a programme on a while ago which was about the best of Morcombe and Wise , one fo the sketches that they showed was this one. Those who were inovlved in it, were saying how they had to get things done in more or less one take , or two at the very most, as they didnt have enough costumes for Eric to wear as he had to get wet several times.

  • I know i watched that!! it was great wasn't it?!

  • 'I'm wet through folks!'

  • @MissPiratePixie LOLLLLLL

  • I don't think that Ernie earned enough recognition; do you?

    Jennie.

  • i watch these guys and laugh and cry at the same time RIP you both, and my youth

  • i watch these tow at Christmas with all the family then in the 70s and 80s it was the best tv program going then on Xmas.

  • Lol five outta five

    Lollollollillillollollollollollollollol

  • Epic WIN!

  • Absolute Winners XD

  • Ernie was a brilliant dancer!

  • Its A Pity That this sort Of Thing Isnt On The T.v Any More. Im 13 and I Love Eric and Ernie!! <3!

  • @Lellena223 Aye, I'm 15 and I think they're the best double act that the worlds ever had the good fortune to see.

  • @xcmasterx Absolutely, There are no words good enough to describe them!

  • @Lellena223 So do/am I :)

  • @Lellena223 Same! Go us!!!!

  • Great comic timing - This is timeless & they are Gods. God bless Eric & Ernie:)

  • thy were brilliant of there time and still are till this time on. long live Morecambe and wise. you can not beat this brilliant classic British comedy

  • Oh this is brilliant! I Understand that Gene Kelly loved it.

  • They showed it to him at a Variety Club dinner in his honour. Ernie Wise was at the dinner and Gene Kelly turned to him and said "Thanks Eric".

  • 1:26 LOL!

  • I can remember this when it first came out and this is the first time I've seen it in years still hilarious. Just shown it too my 27 year old daughter first time she's seen it. Brilliant don't make them that anymore

  • British Comedy is still highly remembered epecially acts like Eric and Ern. The 70's and 80's were the golden age of Comedy in the UK and although modern comedies are funny, nothing can compare to the classics. John Cleese is right in some cases that today's comedy producers can't compete with the legends of yesterday.

  • Watching Gene Kelly's version has never been the same since I first saw this.

  • Thank you and 5*****. Boy, Ernie sure could dance. Take care, Jennie. X.

  • Bless you Eric & Ernie -we miss you -hilarious!

  • you can watch these guys over and over again and never get sick of them! everytime that i watch them i always get a laugh!

  • absolutely agree, legends in comedy, kings among men.

  • I never get tired of watching them, absolute magic :)

  • Good... years ago.

  • Does anybody have the other M&W version? Saw it on a Singing In The Rain tribute; it included Padington Bear...

  • Classic British comedy... reminds me of the work of Sid Caesar, Imogene Coca, Carl Reiner and Howard Morris a decade or so earleir.

  • looool for a kid i acctually quite like eric and erny

  • :D Love it! great parody!

  • Gene Kelly himself said it was the best version of singing in the rain that has been done :)

  • dis is absolutly amazing!! aparently everywere morecambe went he was funny, aparenty he went 2 a wedding once and got bored during the speeches and he sat against a wall and kept leaning so his hat wud go up... and the best man just burst out laughing. lol, these 2 are the funniest people ever! i wish they were still alive, how did they die?

  • British comedy at its very best. the world is a lesser place without these two wonderful people.

    ATVmidlands UK

  • "I'm wet through!!"

  • Great thanks for uploading.

    A far gentler time :)
