@carielosgrandes In case you don't know Gene Kelly himself said this was the funniest thing he had ever seen. it was on a show when he was the guest and he thought they were going to show him doing the "singing in the rain" dance he admitted that he had had to sit watching the clip of himself so mayt times that he was tired of it. he was pleasantly surprised.
@SkyrimLongplay Good grief. He just made a lighthearted comment complimenting the video and you decide to go all grammar nazi on his ass even though you left the apostrophe out of 'dont'..........
Brilliant Comedy that just dont happen anymore, please bring back comedy and drop the vulgar swearing in the comedy that they put in front of us these days- at christmas i just switch off the tv and play the greats - morecambe and wise / the two ronnies / tommy cooper:) / etc etc to me that is christmas - having a laugh with comedy you can watch even with your kids or parants and not cringe at the vulgar that comes from recent comedians
Little fact on this, Gene Kelly himself was at the filming of this very sketch he laughed his head off at this and said they were the greatest act he'd ever seen
@SuperHouseshaker I saw it when they showed it to him at a Variety Club dinner in his honour. Ernie was there and Gene Kelly said "Thanks Eric" to him.
there are 3 people that take credit 4 this eric morcambe the comedian ernie wise the legendary singer dancer and their writter eddie braben for this classic comedy sketch still makes me laugh
what annoys me is that i dnt know anyone in my school that appreciates morecambe and wise's talent. i'm 15 and my dad showed me some christmas specials and since then i absulotely love them :)
@shreyapanda I know, I think it says a lot about the brilliance of this sketch, that over 127, 000 people have watched this video, and not one of them disliked it
Over 6 million watched the Victoria Wood drama about them earlier this year, and over 5 million watched the repeat of the 1976 Christmas show preceding it, so there are still plenty of us out there appreciating them.
@ AdaptorPlug. This has diddly squat to do with Asias Monsoon seaseon, its taken from the Gene Kelly film Dancing in the rain, You need to learn classics
@spunkychickenpigeon True dat HERE THAT ANT AND DEC FUCK YOU BAD UP THE ARSE WITH HERPES AND..ummmmmmmmmmmmmm CHLAMYDIA AND.......................um MORE STDS AND STIS!
@loveleona123 Ok so im not 13, but i wasent born till 1976, so that meant i would of only been 4 at the begining of the 80's. But i do think the 70's was britains best decade for comedy. Im a huge fan of tommy cooper aswell. I dont think comedians concentrate on being jokerish and funny as much as they use to, i think their more about showing off now.
@xxrobfalconxx why did you say you were 13 when you're not? :S weirdo. being born in 1976 and appreciating old comedy is no grand achievement you know.
@MrsDanielRadcliffeN1 Ummm i didnt lie. If my original comment (which you miss read) said "i am NOT 13", then how am i lying?. Being born in 1976 does not make me 13.
Its mad to think that if these two were around today they'd be stuck on a cruise ship. They dont swear or make lewd comments, not even BBC3 would touch them.
I like most modern comedy but we still need more like this, gentle and fun for all the family.
I think if they were still around today they would have been banned by the PC brigade for offending Umbrellas in this pathetci country with its rubbish TV. Bring back the 70's with its sitcoms and comedians like this. Brilliant stuff
@whojanickabollokoff I fully agree with you PC brigade would never allow the comedy of the 70's and early 80's which is a shame, todays comedians can't get a laugh without having a swear word in the sentence IMO most of todays comedians should be kicked out and bring back the old school comedy... Constant repeats of the old comedy would be great IMO not just the occasional repeats on channels like GOLD and DAVE. Today's young would really enjoy it I know my relations kids do.
@Cryten1974 Dont get me wrong I aint no stuffy church visitor and do have a broad mind and fab SOH but when these guys were on the entire family watched together without fear of your parents looking embarrassed
All we get now is Fly on the wall cheap TV like Fishermen, Police, Ice Rd Truckers, Lifeboats, Ambulance Chasing, Driving Schools, Enviromental Health shows on at tea time!!!
Yes it was, they ran down everyones fav episodes, - for me has to be this, the breakfast routine done to the "stripper" tune LOL, and the Andre Previn sketch, can never listen to that piano concerto quite the same way again LOL - oh and the joke re the ambulance or police vehicle that Eric makes as it zips past his bedroom window - "he'll never sell any ice creams going at that speed" or something along those lines LOL
There was a programme on a while ago which was about the best of Morcombe and Wise , one fo the sketches that they showed was this one. Those who were inovlved in it, were saying how they had to get things done in more or less one take , or two at the very most, as they didnt have enough costumes for Eric to wear as he had to get wet several times.
thy were brilliant of there time and still are till this time on. long live Morecambe and wise. you can not beat this brilliant classic British comedy
I can remember this when it first came out and this is the first time I've seen it in years still hilarious. Just shown it too my 27 year old daughter first time she's seen it. Brilliant don't make them that anymore

dis is absolutly amazing!! aparently everywere morecambe went he was funny, aparenty he went 2 a wedding once and got bored during the speeches and he sat against a wall and kept leaning so his hat wud go up... and the best man just burst out laughing. lol, these 2 are the funniest people ever! i wish they were still alive, how did they die?
