My mothers sportage does like.. 0-60 in 3.7 seconds with the traction control turned off and the 4wd engaged.. Tops out around 204mph and does about 35mpg.. Goes around the Nurburgring in 7:05.. Now thats impressive!

Whoever said something about resale value, any car you have will NEVER get near the same resale value!! Unless you drive it for a month then sell it.

I think the new sportages have improved a lot than the older models.

A lot of cars will have trouble when and after they pass 100,000. Can't expect them to stay running good forever.

my 2001Sportage had TWO complete engine replacement 1st at 23 000 miles # 2 @ 39 000 !!! plus all kinds of other problems unbelievably bad

II am on my seccond sportage now my first :since jan 02 sold jan this year with 150 000km on the clock, i have had one problem, an oil leak and this was the dealers fault nand should not reflect bad on the car as it was an untightend sump plug. jan this year I traded it in on a new one this time I went for the 2 wd 2L AT it is not a sports car but then i did not buy it to be one to date no problems and im up to 48 000km.

i dont think anything is wrong with the car. but really? ur first car? i had to buy my own car 1995 dodge caravan... and ended up being the family car......... now i have a 2005 kia sportage its ok, but it doesnt matter on what car it is, its how u drive it.. and how u take car of it...

im sorry to tell you this but kia sportage come with many problems I also wanted to buy kia sportage but i did my homework trying to find out as much as can about this vehicle by reading and asking people who own a sportage and believe me the anwers where no encouraging as i said the vehicle comes with a pile of problems some which are battery , fuel pump,radiator, starting, timing, and interior problems because most of the interior is plastic and easy to break.

This car is very good value for the money. If you can see past the KIA badge get one you will not be disappointed. A good mix of Estate/SUV and Car all in one package. Just get one and run it into the ground and forget about the residuals.

The best quality suv out there. It's peppy and the back seat rivals a limo. It gets an honest 27 MPG at highway speeds with the ac on. Because of the safety features insurance costs drop. Couldn't be happier with this vehicle.

Yeah......these are so slow. As far as speed goes...I do not find these to be at all worth considering. For those interestested, it can top out at 125 to 130 mph. Either way, it's still disappointing. Plus, it's just an ugly car.

I primarily was giving shit on its acceleration by the way. Top speed is somewhat surprising considering that it's a heavy car driven by a 4-cylinder.

I just picked up my new Kia Sportage yesterday, very nice driving...I have to cross a big hill to come home and I made it easily on third shift.

Mine is the new model, grell has only 1 silver line not 2 like the one in this video, wheels and head and tail lights are different as well as back bumper design

Great warranty if you can find decent service hours. Every KIA deadlership in the West and Southwest suburbs of Chicago have 8-4:30 service hours every Monday through Friday with no Saturdays and no option for a rental car when dropping it off. I enjoyed taking a day off to spend it with my car at the North Aurora dealer because of THEIR recall. BS.

Undoubltly its been a huge advance in design, it looks a lot prettier than the first generation ^^

Today I took new 2007 model 2 Liter for test drive. But it was the worst thing I've ever driven. Engine kept on reving like crazy but the car could hardly go up low hill, no acceleration at all. Steering was like it was swaying side to side, it felt totaly out of control. I was very disappointed, specially that I've wasted 40 minutes drive to Kia dealer.
