  • this video lies about some stuff. we coast miwok never polluted "hurt" the Earth we were the ones keeping it nice before everyone came over and took it over ">.> before we would take things from the Earth we would always give something back to it like food for example. and also the guys who were cutting the tule plants did it wrong >.> two people are supposed to handle them. and whatever ones broke you would have to give it back which they didn't and there were a couple broken ones there.failurs

  • @NickB1967

Nick i am coast miwok and you wanna know something we were very peaceful people we were living in peace with the pomo, navajo, ohlone and many other tribes. we are also one with earth unlike most people. so don't you even say that we were non-peaceful people. your just another piece of white shit that thinks they know stuff about us when you really don't. and we had our own ways of controlling the fires. and back then fires didn't spin out of control as badly as they do now a-days.

  • You don't know what burning does do you? Of course you don't since you made that comment. You know burning patches of land helps the soil resiliency and encourage growth? No of course you don't.

I have no romantic views of the supposed Ohlone or Miwok, but I do know this: they fundamentally relied on the land. If it dies, they die. A real relationship. We who live here now destroy it on every turn. You cannot dispute this. And your primitive knowledge can't create solutions to that fact.

  • "Controlled Burns"? Yah, the Ohlone and the Coast Miwok had fire crews ready to stop wildfires from going out of control, lol. And their "shellmounds" were nothing but giant garbage dumps. Romantic views of the ancient Indians are ridiculous. Accept them as they were--people doing the best they could with the primitive knowledge they had. Nor did these tribes live in peace with each other. Imagine the Ohlone "Crips" next to the Miwok "Bloods", neither being able to understand the other language.
