I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Benz Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Mercedes vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and EFi injectors clean as new!
It was supposed to badge as "250SEC" but it was before 1980s that they badged for Luxury coupes, the W126 is S-Class, but the W111 is under S-Class too.
Very nice car, I have a W108 250SE saloon/sedan with same engine. You need to fix your tacho though :) (you're lucky to have one- no tacho in the 6-cyl 108s...)

@guillermovdes Correct,they are from the beginning of the 70`s and size 6,5Jx14.(Alloy wheels were offered as an option for the first time in august 1970)
Original wheels was pressed steel wheels 6Jx14 with domed hub caps(same as the 220SE) and plain beauty rings./Jonas
@JonasC68 How much horsepower in your M129 engine??? Looks great your M129 engine of your Classy W111 coupe, that's much powerful than the M110 for Mercedes W123

Your car headlights is the W108, i'm too confused of your car, I thought that there is a W108 2-door coupe

Nice ride. I have a 67' 250S and driving it is the best. You have to fix the wipers and tach, please.

are they 280se headlights?

@cliff19851985 The stacked headlights was for the US market and I think it was
possible to get them as an option in Europe.

The engine is M129 and the 2-door version(coupe) share the same chassis as the 4 door sedan(fintail).
I haven´t heard about cooling problems with the M129 but any way, in this case
the engine was "forced" just for a short time of period and that shouldn´t cause any problems.
Of course,this race was only a single happening to show the performance.
My opinion is that the coupe belongs in the fintail family.
even without fins.
I have placed new comments in the video if you are interested.

@JonasC68 wow!!!! More power!!!! That's why M129 is much larger than the M110 engine for E-Class
Pretty good!!!! Isn't less fuel comsumption?

@Joniel120 Fuel consumption according to DIN 70030: 11,7lit/100km measured at 110 km/h./J

@JonasC68 Well, a pretty, fascinating, quality 67' Mercedes-Benz W111 2-door coupes are really rare!!!
Is that from your father's car??? or you just buy a second-hand car?
Joniel120 1 year ago
This not a Fintail. Fintails are the 4 door sedan W111 and W110 only.
Be carefull forcing this 250 M180 engine to high revs!! The 2,5 L is based on the 220 block, and cooling deficit is the issue.
Eller på svensk kalt Fena. Husk at Polisen slår hardt ned på slike råkjørere som deg Jonas!!

Classic Mercedes-Benz cars are the best!!!!!
Unlike brand-new Mercedes-Benz, Only high-class families especially Bill Gates will own that!
Bill Gates might own 1,000 brand-new Mercedes-Benz cars :)
