FACT3: Queue Jumpers burn their passports and documentation after flying into Indonesia(yes flying in via commercial airlines), making their identification and country of origin impossible to verify once they show up here illegally by boat. This makes it extremely difficult for Australian customs to verify their made up stories. It also makes it very difficult for Australia to send these people back to the countries they claim to be from, as there is no proof they even lived there

This is because the people coming by plane have been INVITED into Australia from the refugee camps in the far flung parts of the world after filling in the paper work and waiting patiently in line, sometimes for years. They didn't pay people smugglers to jump the queue, they waited in queue for Australia's invitation to come. Thats the right way of doing it.

@MrSmibby . Hi. Actually, The majority of refugees do live in third world countries. I'm pretty sure it is Pakistan that accepts the most amount of refugees. Asylum seekers often try to seek asylum closer to their original country for exactly those reasons: Similarity of culture, closer to their families and friends, More likely to have their qualifications recognised etc. The fact is, most Asylum seekers have no say as to which country they end up in. Countries aren't defined by skin colour.

@MrSmibby First of all, LOL CHINA? Second of all like I said Japan loves western culture and a lot of white people (even more African) people now live there, pretty much accepting. I'm not sure about India's policies however, but if it does deny you it's most likely due to high population. It's not actually that easy to get into Australia, you have to wait in Australia for a few years before you're appreciated as an Australian citizen and are allowed to be called such.

Genuine refugees proceed to the nearest geographical safe house and seek asylum there, not customise and tailor their destination like they're buying a new car. So why did they travel to Australia while simultaneously bypassing numerous nations with more compatible cultures? I know why they chose Australia, YOU know why the chose Australia. @lauraley There is no standard refugee process where people wait in line to have their applications considered. A process does not necessarily mean a queue. When people are fleeing for their lives and there are governments prohibiting their exiting the country, that generally calls for desperate measures. If you were a refugee you would know what it's like to flee from a country where the government is trying to kill you

In fact, in Iraq Australia has no consular presence in these countries and by far our largest source of asylum seekers (boat people). Therefore there is no standard refugee process where people wait in line to have their applications considered. Tell me, what would you do?

Most illegal boat people are smuggled from Pakistan, Afghans mostly. To travel through 14 different countries, pay for food, bribes, shelter for a family of 6 for around 4 months, and then boat smuggler. Estimate that to be?
Why do you think some instead fly their entire family to Australia, its cheaper. At around $1300 each from Karachi to a total of around $10 000 including bribes etc for a family of 6.
