My father use to work for Chrysler Corporation and we owned a 1968 dodge charger at one time. They technically used 3 years of charger on the Dukes of Hazzard 68-70; however, for close ups they used a 69 dodge charger R/T

The General had a 440 single 4 bbl although various engines and trannys were used for filming jump, driving and exterior shots. In 2 episodes they mention the General having a 440.
