@rmathew2 Nobody has ever said HBK was supposed to drop the belt to Bret at Mania. Mcmahon didn't even want to put the belt back on Bret, which is why he wasn't in the main event. Bret and Shawn would have happened had Shawn's knee were 100%. However, rest assure, the match would of ended in HBK turning heel and keeping the belt. Or HBK keeping the belt on a result of a disqualification. HBK was the absolute best in the world from 96-97. He did plenty of jobs for Bret when Bret began his run.

On to your other points, yes HBK jobbed for Bret during his peak run, and no the match at WM13 would have ended with Bret beating Shawn and setting up Survivor Series for Shawn to win it back.

Obviously Mcmahon wanted out of the contract not too long afterwards, and we know the rest. It would make no sense at all to have HBK, who was in his prime, beat Bret Hart at WM12 and having the torch passed onto him, only to come next WM and lose to Bret. It would be silly. And Shawn was never asked to do a job to Bret. When Bret became champ in 1992, HBK jobbed to him plenty,

In my opinion though, the back injury and meeting his wife were the best things to ever happen to him. He had serious problems and with being out and having her he was able to fix himself and become a better person.

@TheKliq101 He was so bad into drugs and painkillers, that I think if Shawn hadn't gone away and made all of those life changes, I wonder if he would even be alive today. He was pretty bad off into painkillers for a long time. His story is truly an inspiration.
