The overall picture here is that when football personell praise Harris, they do it because he IS good. He is a specialty corner that has the ADDITIONAL ability to stick with receivers IF he loses battles at the line of scrimmage because of his speed. Guys like that are hard to come by, and could be a great part of any championship team. Fast Kids with ups are a dime a dozen. But a hybrid like Harris, with great power, speed, and awareness, hey that is a team contributor and a corner to respect.

Then you get alot of people bringing up the trouble he had with Burress. Plaxico Burress, at 6'5" 232 is a nightmare for ANY corner when he's hot, and he was the perfect matchup for Harris: pushing him out of the way and getting open. Remember, in any 1-on-1 situation, its harder to be a CB because your watching for variety of routes: a hot WR is just trying to develop one. Even if they had stuck him with Wood, Plax was just a nightmare having a good day, that doesn't take away from Harris.

This brings us to the argument that Harris should be in the nickel. Again, this is not so bright in regards to football. Even nickel with 4 man line is used in a situation where your expecting only pass Harris is a corner that because of his style helps out with a variety of plays. Your gonna put him in the nickel and replace him with a speedy, INT type corner? With two of those, a good coordinator can send the WRs out and run on your team all day.

You also have to consider that Harris is the BEST physical corner out there. Even guys like Champ who can do it all are only using press in certain situations. Harris is using it as his primary skill.

2nd-Keeps the corner close to help stop a running play, which Al does often.

3rd-Creates more potential for a QB to test the other corner, which with a talented guy like Woodson, creates more INT opportunities.

How is he overrated. He has been shutting down No.1 receivers since 03, yet its not until recently that people give him any credit. Even many of the top receivers in the NFL have said that Harris is one of the best corner they have gone against. Tramon had a lot of picks last year, but he gave up the most big plays on the team.
