  • is it possible to tune the exaughst note on a 600

  • hi, um i never ridden a street bike at all. but i really would like to get one. any suggestions?? like what i should do?

  • Hi, just wondering what camera you used to shoot this video?

  • @sayhello2pedro Fujifilm Finepix Z20

  • @ashf00t Thank you....great video by the way:o)

  • i learnt to ride on a 07 gsx 600. great bike. really easy to ride, nice slipper clutch. Roomy enough for a 6 footer like myself. would love to buy another sometime.

  • The Oregon O makes this video a fuckin beast!

  • the difference in stock speed on a gsxr 1000 and a 600 is only 25 mph quite frnakly i think 160 mph on a 600 is quite enough to kill you dont you think ?

  • 1:40 to actually get what you came here for. Thumbs up so people can see... if not, thats a lot of waiting loll

  • I learned on a 97 GSX-R 600 still have it as of right now, and the basis of it is that the throttle goes BOTH ways....its all in how hard you pin it. I can ride mine all day long and not break 75 mph she purrs like a kitten...there are negatives to it though....its a damn crotch rocket! its the most uncomfortable thing imaginable :)

  • About to get my first bike, I'm 18, weigh 150, 5'9, have past experience with dirtbikes and quads. I think I'll get the gsxr 600

  • i agree with people getting a 600 cause u get bored of a 250 and in my apinion its not hard to drive and bike i drove dirtbikes all my life and i 17 i just got my m1 a week ago and my first bike is a yzf 600r and i only had 1 close call when i gave it lots of gas on gravel and if u want speed then go with the 600 but if u want power go with a 1000 cause the 600 and 1000's only have like 40 km difference in speed but the 1000 will nock u on ur ass if u hit the gas to hard

  • hahaha "it feels durable, you know rock solid, like there's something between your legs that can get the job done". only you could get away with saying something like that

  • LOL talking smack in the comments. I basically got served by a chick with annotations LOL

  • its actualyy 599 cc not 600

  • Hey I have watched your videos and downshift83s videos and have researched alot blah blah blah, and i now own a GSXR 600 k6, i live in Tualitin area! lets ride!!!! hit me up please!!!

  • how much does a gixxer 600 wiegh?

  • 25 miles an hour? What?! What?! What?!?!?!

    What?!?!?!

Ow thank you mother earth for creating Germany just around the corner. Thank you, thank you, thank you! ^^

  • you have no idea how much it sucks to be a 15 year old wanting to ride :'(

  • just wanted to clear up some misconceptions about handling ashfoot. my last bike was a ninja 500. great learner bike btw! now i have a gixxer 1000. i thought the 500 would handle better cause its light. the gixxer is harder to turn in but then it bites in and is stable. the suspension is great. once u learn to really control a sportbike all the negatives disappear. except fuel consumption i usually get 35mpg but cruising i can get 50 mpg.

  • @killkilliification: no u wont dude, I'm around 6'1 and I rode on a 600 the other day and I felt fine, plus on being taller u can put both feet down when ure at a stop light, so nothing but a plus for being taller

  • Yo Ashf00t we should go riding sometime. Im getting a 750 super soon and live in your area. Ya down?

  • Heyy, I'm 6'2"... would I look retarded on this bike???

  • @Killkillification Im 6'1 180 lbs..i have a 03 gixxer 600 and i fit fine with leg room and it not too cramped

  • haha I love the ending "actually today..." CUT VROOM VROOOM

  • hello ashf00t. you are the perfect person to ask since i am also a new rider. I passed my BRC course two weeks ago and bought my first bike, Kawasaki ZX6R, a day before that. the only experience i have is the BRC and now since i bought insurance for my bike, im gettin ready to ride it. Do you have any advice riding a 600cc bike for the first time on public road? and also, how tall are you?

  • It looks like something outta star trek with the tram going over head perfect weather and trees. Also lolled at the title of video "positives and negatives" then at 1:49 you say "Can't really talk about the positives and negatives because...well I've only had a 600" lolz keep safe

  • Nice video

  • Not the jixxer GIXXER FKIN GIXXER NOT A JIXXER FFS ^_^

    Oh sorry i ride a fazer 600 :D

    I love my baby ^_^.

  • You're hot!

  • Would This Be Ok For A First Bike ?

  • where do you live? looks like a really nice area

  • you really ramble alot lol

  • I'm watching this and skipping through it and then I'm like "holy shit this is Portland!"

  • @uglyfacedave LOL

  • @uglyfacedave HEY lol

  • I can't think of any cons of the Gixxer 600 :-) I personally would not get a 1000 either cause for me, personally, the 600 packs enough power.

  • damn your voice is cute as hell lol im just saying :P

  • Have you ridden the cbr 600? Just wondering if you believe your bike is better or the cbr

  • @eaidk I haven't but a buddy of mine has a Repsol, I might try that out sometime but it's a liter bike so it'll be different than the 600.

  • @eaidk

I think CBR600RR are over priced for the specs. It has old console, doesn't display what gear you're in and no slipper clutch. Only good thing about them and they're incredible easy to ride and nice ergonomics especially for taller person. I'm 6' tall and I find it comfortable but a tad big for the Gixxer.

  • 250s 75 miles well the 250 ninja does 75 mpg..haha i got the sex jokes.good ones

  • Ashf00t, What kind of helmet cam goes UNDER the visor of your mut? I'm interested in whatever kind of camera you used. Its cool that you can dim or brighten with the visor, just like I'm the one in the helmet. Let me know. thanks. (and does it do the audio or do you watch it and add your voice later? Thx.)

  • @Phatphatyo I actually don't use this setup anymore but I do use the same camera for audio only. I now have the GoPro for video.

  • oh u have add wow cant tell. Im not being smartass huh most people would say i have add but i think its just me.cool cool but yeaaa i think im still gonna get the 250r screw it. but yea 600 nah its cool anyway but not gonna be using for speed alot anyway maybe later but it'll be perfet for now. well of course ashfoot yur gonna get heads turnd i just hope it happens to me to jejjejeje nah im kidding im sure it will. gheez u have eagle eyes or wat niiiicehuh morgan reeally ok

  • I have really enjoyed your videos. I started riding 3 years ago on a zzr 250, but had already bought my gixxer600 6 months before, so would ride that inbetween when i felt like it. Over here in Australia you now have to ride a LAM's bike (Learner Approved Motorcycle) for a certain amount of time before you can go for your open licence. Im glad i started on a 250 as i now have the respect for the 600 that i wouldn't of had if i'd started on it straight up. TOTALLY different riding experience

  • @rubylinda67 Heh it scared the shit out of me for about 6 months when I started riding it! Even before riding it, I was nervous. I actually have footage right before I started riding it and you can hear the fear in my voice! lol

  • 7:16 scared the shit outta me

  • @harrison5014 LOL ya it looks closer than it was.

  • What is the bike wave anyway?

Is it like the corvette wave (regular old hand wave) or something really uber gay like the dodge viper fang wave (two fingers curled to imitate a 'viper' snake)

  • @TheOriginalFalcon It depends on the person and they bike you are riding, people pick up their own type of wave.

  • thx u sweetie

  • am looking for gsxr this be my first bike. couple questions? where u get your helmet cam from? and helmet/gloves and jacket from?

  • @DJJJINSTL I don't use this camera any more. I got a GoPro more recently but have to use an audio recorder to vlog. I got my gear from Motorcycle-Superstore

  • @ashf00t is it a pain to sync of the audio and go pro cause i just got a go pro and was wondering on how to do the vloging and riding part with a go pro

  • @InsanityJoe87 Sometimes it is hard, but try to find a distinguishing point in the video and the sound to sync the video to it. It's going to be off by milliseconds but no one can really tell.

  • @ashf00t alrighty thanks!

  • Hey asf00t i dont mean to be a perv but is it true that chicks can have orgasms on bikes, cause ur a girl i just thought i would ask.

  • Did you have it lowered cuz I'm 5'11" and I'm kindda on my toes when I sit on an 08 600

  • @jenright115 I'm 5'6 and I didn't get it lowered. It's still stock.

  • @jenright115

How long is your inside leg? You're four inches taller than me, yet the only bikes I'm tip toeing on are enduro/supermotos (840mm+ seat height).

    My inside leg is 31".

  • @jenright115 yeah dude somethings def not right here, almost 6 feet tall and you are on your toes???

  • is that on the back of your for Oregon. Bc if imma duck fan also. goo ducks

  • @Blusdw This is actually in the city!

  • hey ashfoot i have a request for your new video i was watching the positive and negetive vid and notice that u kind of didnt really know what to say, sorry it just probaly me bening a dumbass and not catching on lol but i was wondering since you been riding for while wondering if you can strickly talk about your bike and not compare to another like you said this is your fist bike, how about talking about your expeiriance on your bike then and now gsxr 600 experiance.......i really like your vids

  • @jake011386 This is very interesting. But to be honest I don't know what I'd say. I've still have only ever ridden the gsxr600 and 1000 so the video wouldn't be about negatives. It would just be "The Pros of a GSXR" I guess lol

Thanks for the idea! I'll have to think about it!

  • does your back get soar after riding this for a while?

  • @os9198 It depends. If I'm riding to work no, if I'm on a 300+ ride...well we like to take a few breaks to stretch out.

  • @ashf00t what if you're riding for say an hour? also how fast can you go on it?

  • @os9198 An hour and my back doesn't hurt. I've been up to 112 mph on it. This summer I'm doing my first track day so you'll be able to see how fast I can really go!

  • im 5'5" think i would beable to ride one of those? or any 600cc in that case... im thinkin about getting one but im not sure if im tall enough lol

  • @pogiepnoi Go sit on one at your local dealership to test out.

  • Eh dam....

I am 5 feet 45, 16 and 140-150 pounds (Alot eh? But you won't be able to tell if you see me :D)

I am planning to by the cbr600rr for my first bike, I've driven the super four for almost 4 years now (Privately) any thoughts?

  • @Naturepheonix I don't think I've ever heard of a super four lol

  • @ashf00t Honda CB400 (Project Big). Also known as "Super Four"

  • @Naturepheonix Ah! Ya I don't got anything

  • @ashf00t There's also our friendly Wikipedia :D or better Google ;)

    It's a street bike.

  • A bit of advice: Try to keep your eyes on the road babe and don't get too distracted looking off to the sides. My first bike wreck happened when I took my eyes off the road for literally a few seconds. That experience scared the heck out of me and I learned my lesson, so now I look forward 99.9% of the time when riding. Anyway, cool videos and ride safe.

  • im looking itto the Gixxer and im 6'4" around 290 would you think this bike is good for a person this size?

  • @361tony1 I've seen some pretty tall people on sport bikes. As long as you like it, it doesn't matter! I'd test sitting on some at your local dealership but please ask before you do lol.

  • good video :)

  • so pretty their

  • My Kawi Ninja 250r gets 55 MPGs in my suburban area. On the highway it's more like 60-70.

  • Cool video, im 5'7 and weigh 130, will i be able to ride one of those. How tall are you?

  • @remelsheikh I'm 5'6, so of course you could ride one!

  • 1000R bikes handle just fine... their sport bikes.

  • i dont know a whole lot about street bikes but im pretty sure the main class of racing bikes is 600 and they fly around those corners!

  • all you guys saying that a 250 is to small for you i am 14 and 6 foot and i rode a 250 today and it was my freinds who is 18 and 6 5 he just look sbig on the bike but he still fits he just has to adapt.

  • Huh...Portland, nice.

  • what part of the country is this?

  • @mjlmbl Portland, Oregon

  • @ashf00t Nice to see someone with a nice bike have a brain when riding not that im against breaking the speed limit. Its just good to see someone cruzing not flat out coffin mode u got the best 600 ever made right there gixxer ftw

  • @ashf00t nothing sexier than a female riding a bike

  • @kellyowensby you obviously never seen a female on a harley....not sexy....AT ALL!!

  • @kellyowensby what about 2 females riding a bike?

  • gogo 2011 BMW S1000RR!

  • i think this is the only video on youtube where the person on the sports bike doesn't go over the speed limit.

  • great video.. super informative

  • @2dabo1985 fujifilm finepix Z

  • For a newbie on a bike who really wants a speed bike would it be smarter for me to go the 600 route like a gixxer or cbr, or a 250r ninja?

  • @ZombieDeathProof Well it depends if you are throttle happy, if you are, I'd suggest the 250. I hear they are also coming out with a CBR 250 for the states in 2011!

  • @ashf00t Okay, well is that all thrown out the window anyway when I come to terms with the fact that I am almost 6ft 2? Should I just give up on that dream because Im a giant?

  • @ZombieDeathProof well you didn't tell me that lol. I'd look at the 650s then.

  • @ashf00t haha truth be told I didn't even put it into consideration... Thanks for the help!

  • First of all you couldn't pushthat 600 to its limit, second jsut cause displacement is increased doesn't mean handling gets sacrificed haha, Gixxer is actually one of the most uncomfortable seats..cause its a sportbike/track bike. Your 250 is more nimble than a 600 but due to traction from narrow type tires is the cause, you still probably can't puish that 250 to its limits. A 600 will keep up with any liter bike in the twistys with the right rider. gixxer is the best all around bike period...

  • That city is beautiful

  • i just got my 2001 gsxr 600 and its gorgeous. i love ALL gixxers. i dont get why magazines slag them off so much because they are wicked.

  • So a gixxer is a 600cc bike? Or is it only the GSXR?...

  • @harleynathan gixxer is the shortened named for GSXR. They come in 600, 750 or 1000cc engines.

  • @ashf00t Hay Ashfoot, Check out my Videos on My Ninja 250 Especially the one that says "2009 Kawasaki Ninja 250r Mods" It tells some of the Pros of the 250 and there are ALOT ! but I'm looking to step up to a 600 Katana.. I like that Bike. I'm looking for a Comfortable bike not a Speedster but Still Sporty. I'm 5' 8" 185 so it should be a Comfortable Bike for me. Tell me what you think!

  • i can ride a sharp corner at 70 on my hayabusa its not heavy

  • @nicdrums56 270 kilograms isnt heavy?

  • I don't know whether you've answered this before, but how much did you pay for insurance when you first started? Did it lower as the year(s) went on?

  • @ThaBR33D First started it was $100, it has since gone up to $110 but that's because people keep crashing on gixxers lol. Once I turn 25 (next year) my insurance will go down.

  • @ashf00t Well I'm still 18 so I guess I'm gonna be in the upper 200's..

  • @CalebNu1330 yup!

  • @ashf00t lol wow i was totally thinking the same thing. crazy.

  • are u single? jw?

  • @somedumbthing2 nope, I've got a bf lol

  • your from Oregon lol tri-met bus stop :p

  • your from portland lol trimet bus stop hahaha

  • clutch fail 0:58 :)

  • Duck fan ftw

  • Been riding a 600 for 2 years now... The power is still there, but it seems like over the 2 years i am so used to the power that it feels like its getting slower and slower. My next bike will be a 1000 but like my friend says.... "its way more fun to ride a slow bike fast, than a fast bike slow" and i totally agree... Also you should ride to a point where you are just below your limits and not the bikes limits... otherwise the bike will show you who is really in control...

  • I've seen a couple of your vids. Realy nice, congrats.

Can i ask what kind of material you use for recording? I like the view from the helmet, and the quality is pretty good thought.

  • @Vascossf material? Velcro is how I attach it inside of my helmet. Thanks!

  • @ashf00t thanks fo the answer! Now i understand how it is done, and how it fits... Still a little bit dangerous, but a good way to get great vids from the rides

  • wow where do you take this ride? it's beautiful! (city/state?)

  • @mathiasparks this is in Portland, Oregon.

  • if ur like riding in the mountains and theres probably not a gas station anywhere near wouldnt it be bad to not have a gas gauge? can u install a gas gauge?

  • @eragon1518 you have to know how many gallons your tank can hold and what kind of MPG your bike gets. It wouldn't matter if you had a gas gauge because most bikes have a 4 gallon capacity tank. You can't go too far unless you had some gas in one of those red containers you'd have to strap on to the back of the bike. Its all about planning!

  • @ashf00t U said the bike does 40/45 miles per Gallon, is that aggressive riding or normal?

  • @madedd02 I usually get 38 to 40 on more aggressive rides. It's still not that bad! The highest I've gotten would be 48 mph!

  • I own a 2009 gsxr 600 I love it it is my first bike and they ride like a dream, idk about yours but mine has a mode button to limit power to make it more user friendly, Oregon is a nice place I'm up in Washington

  • is there a second seat???

  • @CaelanDJones yes there is, the bike also comes with a seat cowl.

  • How's the bikes comfort on longer rides? I've heard you talk about your wrist getting numb. I'm looking at having a gsxr by next summer same year so I've been watching all your vids :) lol

  • @blackscorge anything longer than 3 hours on the bike I start hurting but buying a CrampBuster helps with wrist cramps. My hands getting numb was because I had too tight of gloves on.

  • Your annotations are hilarious.

  • Thanks for the review.

I'm thinking of buying one after seeing several at a gathering at a resteraunt back East.

The UofO sticker on the back of your helmet is probably the cause for all the head turning in Portland. :-P You realize that you have more balls than most men by flaunting your allegiance in enemy territory, like the guy at 7:42? I should know, I'm from around Eugene lol

    Anyway, thanks again!

  • @td84 Portland is enemy territory? But there is a duck store here!

  • @ashf00t I'm not saying Portland is the enemy but just enemy territory regardless of stores or no stores . Ever hear of the 1937 full scale riot in Eugene caused by PSU students? I wouldn't be too concerned considering Portland was found to be the least manliest city in the nation. All I'm saying is be careful going through intersections. lol

All kidding aside, again good video.

  • My 2004 250 ninja has neither a gas gauge or a low-fuel indicator :)

  • @dtmbcorp Hmm it must be the newer 250s that have them :p

  • fucken hi-5 women! im 16 and gonna get my bike soon :D first women ive seen make a youtube vid. so u deserve a massive hi-5 ohh and do a wheelie next time ;)

  • @stip27 I hope that's not what you do when you get your bike. I'm 16 and even I know better.

  • @stip27 this comment is soo child like.....DO A WHEELIE!!!yay......just sayinLOL

  • That looks like a nice ride. I wish there were places for me to ride like that here in Illinois. I have a SV650, i'm selling it next summer and buying my dream bike - 2006 GSXR 600<3

  • Are you using a stock muffler? .. Sounds good.

  • @phillyjnine Yup never did switch out my muffler :)

  • did you stall alot?? im worreid about stallin in the middle of the road::(

  • @hohohee1 I stalled a couple times when I first started but you get the hang of it after awhile.

  • @hohohee1 keep on practicing in parking lots. what i do :)

  • Man what a sweet bike I am gettin one of these for my first bike

  • that is a beautiful area your riding through. I live in DE and there are hardly any turns basically just stright roads lol. But i guess thats a good thing as a noob.

  • @shaqdaddy11 Ya, but you'll want to find some kind of turns otherwise you'll be scared when you do have to turn somewhere! :p

  • @ashf00t yeah i guess parking lots will have to do.

  • hey where is this if you dont mind me asking it looks like a beautiful place to ride and maybe even live

  • @bballplaya123678 It's the west hills in Portland Oregon

  • I started on a 2007 GSX-R600 and honestly, if you're a quick learner and don't do stupid shit, youre fine.

  • i have a 2002 cbr 600 f4i, the ride on my bike its actually pretty comfortable i still have the stock seat

  • I was 16 and I started on a 2002 gsxr 600 and it was fine. I would have been tired of a 250 in a few weeks.

  • "it feels durable like there's something between your legs that lasts", Yeah i know what you mean i can make it last baby! :)

  • I learned on SV650 - it was a mistake. Should try on a 500cc or less. But now when I ride a 600cc supersport like the GSXR, its a breeze..

  • I would have to disagree with the straight line 1000 comments. 1000s are AMA superbike cc. Thats what Matt Mladin rides and the entire Jordan suzuki team. Busas are crap though. R6 seats and yamaha seats in general (especially the new ones) are square and wide which makes you sit bowlegged. Seat height is feels taller too.

  • 500 ninja's are good to learn on if you think you'll outgrow the 250 too quickly. Has nothing to do with lean angles or power since there isn't a person here commenting (including myself) that can ride a 600 to it's limit.

My first bike was an R6 after riding my friend's old honda for awhile but if I could do it over I would have bought something smaller to get comfortable with it.

  • cbr !! all day

  • Would You Recommend Suzuki GSXR-600 Or 750 Suzuki GSXR For Someone To Train On As A Beginner???

  • @BreastMan34 I wouldn't recommend it no, sorry.

  • @BreastMan34 i would recomend a 250 ninja if your just beginning lol dont start on something to powerful 600 arnt too bad but for a beginner they will get you into trouble pretty quick

  • @BreastMan34

The 600 should be fine, but it can get you killed all the same.

  • «Like there's something between your legs that can get the job done ;)»

    loll

  • lol my Zhongshen 250GS gets 80MPG

am planning to upgrade to a 600, but am worried about the increased weight and bad MPGs

  • well just throwing in my two cents. the 600 is probably one of the better bike as a first bike for everyone asking. yes 250s are forgiving but it doesnt take long to get used to a 600. there is a lot of power but if u havent ridden b4 it will scare the crap out of you so u dont get carried away. and u can lower it for shorter people. i just had mine lowered 4in so the wife could try it. and she just started too. gsxr600 fantastic.

  • My sv650 tears through corners up to 105mph. After that I gotta tuck down cause I don't have a windscreen. Such a great bike. Rode it for 6 hours today. Only a little butt pain. Gonna replace the seat pad someday.

Lots of torque for those 30mph hairpins.

  • @ashf00t Hey Beautiful fuck what haters like currygoat23 says. Keep riding and doing your thang!

  • @currygoat23 Yo bitch i don't remember you being ashf00t's daddy so stop talking shit about a video you didn't have to watch you dumbass. If you don't like the video stop talking shit and make your own! You fucking idiot!

  • Pro- it's a GSXR

    Con- it's not a 750 :P

  • Well this will be my first bike,i cant think nothing else.., damn me! :/

This is a good first bike right? ive read that Gsxr is the most comfortable and stable than any other Japanez bike :)

  • would starting off in this bike be more dangerous than an r6 or are they the same?
