I'm not a believer. Anyway, I love this music and film. It's sad when they killed the natives and priests because of politic interests from the countries involved. If you don't cry watching this epic movie, you're not human or have such a strong spirit to allow you being touched by these emotional images.
Films made in the 80s about the distant past feel more authentic than films made today about the same periods. In this footage, I find it easy to believe we're looking at genuine footage of that century.
@inkstersco I think you have a good point. This movie somehow makes you feel that you are there and you become emotionally invested in it. The only movie I can think of that has an impact on me is "Barry Lyndon" and that was done in the 70's.

Estupenda película , además los hechos ocurrieron realmente , hubo jesuitas que fueron antiguos soldados en el ejército español , en los tercios de Flandes por ejemplo , que al terminar su servicio militar ingresaron en la orden y se enfrentaron al ejército portugues despues de haber dado instrucción militar con armas de fuego a los guaranies.

Desde que ví esta película, en su estreno, me subyugó está música. La he escuchado montones de veces, me compré el disco en vinilo (que desgasté de tanto oirlo), y a día de hoy cuando la vuelvo a poner, la siento como la primera vez que la escuché, me emociona de igual manera. Este vídeo en concreto es uno de los que más me gustan, la selección de imágenes es la mejor de los que he visto.

I am an real atheist, but in this movie religion is not mane point, it is just that religion has given humans more value than governments and emperor in the past. To like this movie (which I really want too beacuse off the GREAT music) i look at it simply as an movie about humans, not that we have too be konservativ but we have too be more when it comes to certain things.
PS: The fact that this movie didnt win oscar for best music is most likely the biggest oscar mistake.

Many Jesuits were sincere in their desires to bring the "value" you speak of based on the teachings of the Bible. The Church is invested in control and money. People are a commodity.
2) "Good" humans care and live/fight for one another.

La película deja mucho que desear a pesar de su cartel Irons y De Niro, sobre todo De Niro que es mi actor predilecto. La historia daba un amplio abanico de posibilidades, un tema poco tocado, pero el guión es correcto simplemente y carente de emoción.
a pesar de esto, para mi personalmente, tiene una de las mejores bandas sonoras del cine, como siempre Morricone insuperable.

Cuando escuche este tema en el colegio (Hace más de una década) me dieron ganas de ver la película.
Ese ambiente que traspasa la canción, de entre conservador y aventurero, digno y soñador... es algo la verdad impagable.
Aún no encuentro la película original, pero no pierdo la esperanza de algun día poder verla... como Dios manda.

La película deja mucho que desear a pesar de su cartel Irons y De Niro, sobre todo De Niro que es mi actor predilecto. La historia daba un amplio abanico de posibilidades, un tema poco tocado, pero el guión es correcto simplemente y carente de emoción.
a pesar de esto, para mi personalmente, tiene una de las mejores bandas sonoras del cine, como siempre Morricone insuperable.

Esta edición de 10 minutos de la BSO no está en absolutamente ninguna parte más que en este video y en una colección personal de CDs de bandas sonoras mezcladas con el "Acoustica mp3 audio mixer". Esta, como todas las demas mezclas de otros videos de mi canal, la he hecho a partir de diferentes tracks de los CDs comerciales que están a la venta en las tiendas. Si la quieres, descárgate el video y ripea el audio. :-)

about the conflict between the Jesuits and the Guarani, and between Portugal and Spain.
The most beautiful part is when DeNiro's character, Capt Mendoza converts and becomes
a Jesuit. Amazing movie and music.

True. It was Polycarp in Rome that was a direct student of the original Apostles. Polycarp was killed by the Roman emperor ... after which there were no more direct students. Word of mouth and the verbal method of teaching was used and the catechism of the gospel was created. The council of Nicaea in 325AD paid editors to change all the scripture to support a church organization. Anyone disagrees was killed. The Catholic church was thus born via the blood of those that actually knew the gospel.

No recuerdo ahora la BSO de "Misión a Marte", pero en cualquier caso "La Misión" y su Soundtrack son bastante anteriores, por lo que sería la otra la que se pareciera a esta, y no al revés
