  • i have coped not totely but similer great vid

  • Seal pup . Do u kill seals? Or that's the name I hope for u that's the name buddy hehehehe

  • nice blade, I got SOG Tech Bowie

  • I had the opportunity to try-out one of those wire-saws recently and the thing definitely can do the job, but... the split-rings at each end snag your fingers quite nastily and would probably tear-up gloves too. Easy mod would be some duct-tape at the bare ends of the rings.

  • are you expecting to survive in the near future

  • Where can I get one

  • dude you need a woman

  • cool modifications love it now I want the pup

  • is this the old version

  • nato approved......lol

  • I like that sheath it looks better then the nylon one

  • the commando wire saw also works as fiber wire

  • @WaterFrontBoss Search and observations group

  • one question...what does sog stand for?

  • @jay112273 Studies and Observations Group

  • Very Cool nice you have there. I want a SOG SEAL knife like yours. Keep working hard on modding your tactical gear.

  • It is Xmas day and I just got mine and the reason u cannot put a good edge on it is because the steel is incredibly strong because the steel has been cryogenically treated

  • It is Xmas day and I just got mine and the reason u cannot put a good edge on it is because the steel is incredibly strong because the steel has been cryogenically treated

  • cool knife my biggest problem and possibly only problem with the seal pup is how far away the blade starts from the handle

  • id hope it can cut through rubber if it can cut wood and bone and plastic

  • I've got the COLD STEEL SRK carbon V. It's easily the best knife I've ever handled and OH MY GOD! It can hold an edge!

  • WOW, crazy mods, very nice.

  • I have a Coldsteel SRK AUS 8 never been used with slight sheath wear on the finish I would be interested in trading for a seal pup elite. If anyone is interested leave me a message on my page.I dont mind if its been used as long as its not worn out or broken.

  • how did you tie the thing at the bottom with the cord and the pully thing i cant figure it out

  • where can I get the kydex sheath only?

  • thos hole r supose to be open right so water and other stuff that could ruin that knife gets out right so y would u cover it

  • good luck getting something with one snare. other than that the sheath is awsome.

  • Can you show us how you tied up your paracord??

  • PARACORD IS A GODSEND. ITS LIKE A RUBBERBAND- ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES. MY LAST TRAINING CAMP, WE USED ONE STRIPS OF PARACORD TO MAKE A RANGERDIAMOND, WRAP OUR KNIVES, MAKE SWISS SEATS. BUT NICE SHEATH MODS. THINKING ABOUT DOING SOME OF THIS MYSELF.

  • where can I get the sheath you have? My kydex sheath is made different. I like how yours has the holes and slots on both sides.

  • I have the seal pup also. It came with the nylon sheath, I purchased the Kydex from target.com, I love this knife. Thanks for the videos.

  • nice work on the video. I like the sharpener addition as well as the reflective tape. I've had an awful time with those saws and would unlikely carry it.

ps: put a little vaseline or 'fire ribbon' on or in those cotton balls and they'll burn a lot longer.

  • Very good idea putting the saw inside ranger band. I was having trouble trying to figure out how to carry mine without destroying my other gear.

  • I like the seal pup but the elite model is much better imo

  • i started watching at 5:34...

  • This should have been titled "Sheath Update".

  • if you could get a fire striker on there. you would be GOLDEN

  • wow dude, thats a really smart setup.

  • would like to learn how to tie a nut like that ~!

  • great job with that!

  • Nice mods!

  • how / where can I learn about how to use these kind of knives ?

  • Ray Mears has the best instructional videos I've seen so far.

  • What is the paracord for ? I know everyone has these in survival kit. What is the use and benefit?

  • shelter mostly.

  • Paracord is very strong and cordage can be a prized possession in the bush. There are 7 strands inside that can be taken out of the outer shell for fishing, shelter, snares, tying gear onto your pack, a bow for shooting arrows, a bow for firestarting, a belt, a lanyard-pretty much whatever you can imagine as a use for cordage.

  • @urkingod paracord is your best friend if your outdoors a lot, i wear three bracelets, about 20' of cord and usually pack a 50' roll if going on a multi-night outing and as envirosponsible said.. 7 strands inside which provide more than enough to build shelter, fishing lines...

  • @urkingod

  • @urkingod hey i now its been a year but its 550 cord cum on it can hold 550 plb sorry to bother u jest had to say haha

  • I am looking to buy SOG Elite Pup, but what are the difference among... SOG seal pup elite E37T-K, M37T-N, E37-N, E37S-K, E37S-N, E37TS-N, SE37-M Team? and what is Tini, ??

I thought SOG Elite PUP was the only ONE model, now I am so confused which one to buy ? For everyday utility / survival / emergency purpose

  • Cool mods. I was looking into getting either an SRK or a SOG. But I was wondering something: on the Seal Pup Elite, what are those teeth on back for? Are they rear serrations, or just for choking back on it. And what are the main advantages the SRK has over the SOG?

  • Thanks. I like both, but prefer the SRK for hiking or camping. It can be used to chop, unlike the Pup. The Pup is significantly lighter though, and the teeth shred wire, plastic and some metal. Tough call.

  • @Sergent301 The teeth on the back are for notching... for making traps and such not for shredding wire and crap.

  • hey how come your sheath is different from the vast majority of us

  • My SEAL Pup is an older model than what's available right now.

  • o which do you prefer

  • I've finally found the old kind of sog seal pup knife that you have. The serrations on mine and every other old style that I've seen take up almost half of the actual blade. Your serrations look smaller, they clearly only take up a third of the sharpened part of the blade. Did you modify that? Every picture I've seen looks different.

  • I didn't modify it. You're right though, this SOG is an older model, previous to the elite. If I bought another Pup, I'd buy a straight edge.

  • Thanks for the great video. Keep it up.

  • Good info and demo..thnkx

  • holey fuckin' john rambo

  • what a fuckin' mess. lol.

  • @lawlpally True, but to be fair knife companies usually dont put too much effort into the sheath. You'd have to either carry around a survival kit in a fanny pack,or heavily modify what you already have to be more useful. I kinda like that this guy took initiative to fix up his equipment.

  • that riveted on saw wuz a stroke of genius man

  • sorry dude but you are a knife nerd. lol

  • and?

  • idk he said he was boardering a knife nerd and i said he was one. Nothing wrong with that i am also one

  • Guilty as charged my friend!

  • dude its like a really kool swiss army knife

  • if you're looking for a really good survival knife that will match that kit you made, a fallkniven would be more appropriate

  • I agree. The next best choice is a Cold Steel SRK, the old carbon version of course.

  • nice video, great modifications. im trying to decide whether to buy one of these, or a usmc kabar knife for wen i go fishing, camping, ect. any suggestions?

  • I don't know about the Kabar since I haven't used one yet. I wouldn't buy another SOG SEAL Pup. I have a Cold Steel SRK now and prefer it over the Pup. Cold Steel also has smaller knives like the Finn Bear that is an excellent knife for under $20 US. No, I'm not affiliated with Cold Steel-yet.

  • Sounds like the kydex sheath is a peice of crap that needs a dozen modifications.

  • those saws suck i hade one and it snaped in half and that is a small snare better useing the para cord

  • Hey man I have a Seal Pup, great knife! Nice review, also, 5 stars!

  • so why did u cut the bit of the scabbard out?

  • Great mods

  • They have dulled, especially after cutting heavy gauge electrical wire. The speedy sharp makes 'em sharper than a shark's teeth though.

  • Wow. Very impressed with your sheath mods. I like the emergency wire saw and the sharpener. How much was the wire saw? Thanks and keep posting up videos. Definitely enjoy them.

  • Thanks for the kind words. The saw cost around $8. I'll keep the videos coming.

  • I've had my Seal Pup for about seven years and love it. Every time I go camping I want to take a different knife but can't bring myself to trust anything else. What I have done is cut off the nylon belt loop and use the clip (you don't have?) to attach the sheath upside down under my belt; so the knife and sheath are under my belt and the knife is upside down. The sheath keeps the knife from falling and has easy access. I don't struggle to release the knife. But I like the mods you've done

  • I'd like to see pics or a video with your mods and how you carry it. I removed the clip from my sheath to reduce the profile.

  • Do you have the SOG SEAL Pup Elite or the normal SOG SEAL Pup?

  • I have the model before the elite.

  • how did you put the rangerband on?

  • It's smaller than the sheath, so I "slipped" it over.

  • Hey, very nice review. Very informative and thorough. I think I'm buying it this week. Thanks

  • Les Stroud (Survior Man) doesnt like that wire saw it broke on him plus he said it woulnt make a good snare, but still cool mods thumbs up

  • Thanks for your videos. I finally bought the seal pup and I'm very happy with it. I'll put it to the test soon :)

  • That´s not being a nerd man! It´s just a big passion! Besides, one can never have too many ways to help out in a survival situation and the ones you´ve chosen for your sheaths are really great!

  • Really like the itmes you´ve added to it and how you did it! Very smart actually! I´ll use some of your ideas if you dont mind!!Thanx again for your vds!

  • really nice vid i'm looking to do this with my kukri cause my sheath is traditional so it has a blowpipe hole and there illigal hetre so its just this empty hole any one have any ideas please tell me here or pm me if its too long

  • Very nice man, good additions. I as well would like to see manufacturers add more survival capacity to sheaths, at least make the sheaths capable for additions that they could sell separately. Especially since it is such a common thing for people to do (add additional survival kits to their knife sheaths).
