I think it would be cool if you did a montage of specialists, not necessarily gymnasts that were all-arounders, but those who really stood out in specific events.
Pavlova (for me) is the modern Podkopayeva of gymnastics. She had great skills combined with artistry and great execution... unfortunately she didnt get the medals she deserved because, I think, Athens was early and Beijing a little late for her...and of course, the judges were always very strict with her work
On bars,Liukin had late turn,leg separation all over,and EXCESSIVE bent legs.she cowboy her double front dimount,the judges never took the deduction that should be taken.Liukin also has little power and height on her vault.On beam,she connects skills with snail-speed to get less deduction.On 2007 worlds beam final, I'm very sure that she had a MAJOR wable and still won.On floor,Liukin always crosses her leg to make them look like scissors,each one should take 0.3 deduction,but NONE was taken.

Nobody has ever claimed that Nastia had powerful gymnastics, but she had some of the most beautiful lines of the decade. I bet anything that if she weren't beautiful, wealthy, and American, you all would adore her. Sure, you will deny that is why you dislike her, but secretly that is why everyone tries to discredit her.

I like russian gymnastics because they have nice skills, nice execution, beautiful body lines and ballet training. Chinese gymnasts have immaculate form and good artistry. Romanian are artistic and great beam workers. As much as I love American, I don't like american gymnasts because of the lack of artistry

um... theres only been 3 american all around olympic winners. and 5 world winners (6 times actually, shannon miller has done it twice). the russian/soviets and romainians have been by far more successful when it comes to all around titles. in fact, americans have really only been contenders for the title every year since '91, where-as the romanians and soviets/russians have been contenders since 1956. and mary lou def wouldnt have one had the soviets not been on strike (shes still the queen thou

Anna all though a fine gymnast, isn't the queen of gymnasts. For the 2000's that title is for Khorkina. Anna didn't win many individual medals and her routines were always inconsistent. Khorkina on the other hand has gold medals in bars, floor, and of course AA (worlds 2004? Trying to recollect) Sorry mn50cent and Much, (and I have alot of respect for you Munch I really do. Love your montages) but I disagree on who is No 1. I'm sadden that Khorkina was left out of this montage all together.
Thank you for post Xiao Sha in this montage. It's a pity that she can not appear on the stage of Beijing OG. She is the most classic Chinese beam worker. Wish she could receive a Balance Beam title

I like Nistor, she deserves more recognition. She just gets on with the job, despite injury or anything else. And let's face it, without Nistor's huge 16.150 on bars Romania would not have got team bronze, even with the Russian's mistakes.

Sacramones performance was terrible during the olympics and was the reason why Team USA lost. With that kind of performance and still made it to the national team, I wonder how many coaches did she have to sleep with in order to get the spot. Her ass is so fat, I think her ass is at least 20 pounds extra compared to her teammates. That was why she brought down Team USA. Stupid bitch should go to Jenny Craig. Alicia will go down as the worst, and most disgraceful gymnast in Olympic history.

I love your top two. it's a shame neither of them got the Olympic experience they deserved, especially Anna. Her AA floor was the highlight of the games for me.
And thanks for leaving off Shawn Johnson. She kinda annoys me.

@prittirose I agree about Anna. I think she is probably the most perfect combination of power and elegance that there has ever been in a gymnast. I think she got screwed in Beijing; she should have landed in the medals on several occasions but was underscored.

I agree with some, but definitely not all. I love Zamo the most and she's not even on there :( No Americans either? Some amazing gymnastics has come from there. Nistor? ehhh. I don't like her, but you can. I love Ponor. But I'm glad to see Tweddle there :D

I like Nistor, she deserves more recognition. She just gets on with the job, despite injury or anything else. And let's face it, without Nistor's huge 16.150 on bars Romania would not have got team bronze, even with the Russian's mistakes.

Sacramones performance was terrible during the olympics and was the reason why Team USA lost. With that kind of performance and still made it to the national team, I wonder how many coaches did she have to sleep with in order to get the spot. Her ass is so fat, I think her ass is at least 20 pounds extra compared to her teammates. That was why she brought down Team USA. Stupid bitch should go to Jenny Craig. Alicia will go down as the worst, and most disgraceful gymnast in Olympic history.
