  • Great job man! I learned this and then my sister and I did a rendition of this song on classical guitar and her singing leads.. please everyone if you get a chance stop by face book dot c0m slash siblingrevivalry and let me know what you think.. We just started out and need some "likes" to get us going! Thanks!

  • I fear the day my muscle memory starts to fail because I honetly don't remember how I do half the things that I do right now. XD

  • @Philleken can i have the tabs please

  • Hi, sounds very close to the original. I like your rendition. Just a quick question, is it a travis picking style, but grabbing strings with hammer ons?

  • Good job man! Very close to the original. This thing is very difficult to catch by ear!!

  • Wish the player here would reply to his comments.

  • @rugshort I reply to mine!

  • @earthlyradiodotcom Sorry, what do you mean?

  • Can you tell me where i can the sheet music for this???

  • Go to rugshort's channel and search Jolene within the page (don't forget to thank by rating or faving)

  • Iv got the chords, the rythm and the picking sequence, but by the love of god , i can not the my thumb to hold the base rythm while running the lick , is there any advice on this, cause this is two different rythms run at once,,,any pointers to some lessons in this, artists to study would be much help full.

You nailed it perfectly and i am very jealoux,,lol, i have been playing 15 years, but i just can't nail this and its keeping me awake at night.

  • I know exactly what you mean. Until 2 days ago when I got the tab from rugshort (very nice man, I'll rate your videos soon). If you look at main riff there is a note or chord every semi-quaver except just before the hammer on and just before the pulloff where there is one missing. Its not immediately obvious because the bass and tune are written separately. I tend to imagine a drum beat in the gap to keep me honest. When played slowly it doesn't sound right but it is. Good luck.

  • @StrummingDad can u give me the tabs please?

  • @sanituda

I know EXACTLY what you mean, lol... It's so weird when a picker writes a song with such odd syncopation or fingering that it keeps the rest of us up trying to pull it apart. :-) I think from this vid and one other I'll be able to work it out now though. - From my past experience, every time I've got to learn a new roll it's like starting all over again until it becomes intuitive. Sometimes that takes quite a while of just doing it over and over until muscle memory takes over.

  • Hey! Can anybody please tell me how to do it?

    That would be very nice!

    Thank you!

  • lukesummerguitar just posted lesson

  • You got a link?

  • lukesummerguitar

  • C'mon Phil, how do you do it?

  • finaly someone who plays it correctly....

  • I'm really concerned. You play really well, but lots of us here really need a hand playing this. Will you, can you help us?

    Thanks

  • Really please, can you post another vid on how to play the main verse part?

  • Please a lesson. I've a printed lesson from Dan Apczynski in some guitar mag, but I can't get my head around it.

  • You're right. It's not correct. It's FANTASTIC!! :)

  • My God! We need a lesson for this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fantastic!

  • Most impressive. I don't suppose you've got some tab for this have you or even a "How to play" vid you can post? All the stuff I have found has been pretty unhelpful and conflicting!

  • I've been lookin for the tab too. Even with the chords I can't figure out the finger picking.

  • message me and I'll email what I have. Basically a jpeg from a guitar mag.
