There is always an investigation when there is an "officer involved shooting". There is never going to be way to plan for this 100%. You will never know what the subject is going to do. There is training for situations like this but but you can never predict the outcome.

The reports I read only talked about the officer that had been shot. I can understand not wanting to pay for his food and lodging while in prison. What about this possibility, the deputy went to go get help for the injured deputy. When your adrenaline is pumping you have almost no chance to think. These cops need better technology to extract the trailer dwellers from their location. Personally I would have commandeered an excavator and just crushed this trailer to bits with the suspect still inside, option 2 is to drop down with a helicopter and latch on to it with cable and ascend to about 16,000 ft before detaching the cable and watching the trailer with the suspect trapped inside.

Police are generally run by corrupt governments who are in turn, run by corrupt corporations. So I feel sorry for the individual who died because of this incident. I don't, however, feel sorry for the police themselves. Fuck them. They're not heroes. They don't prevent crime. They're bullies and treat people unfairly and as if the citizen is guilty from the get-go. Thus, I treat cops the same way -- as if they're all criminals, just like they treat others. Sad, I know.

There is always an investigation when there is an "officer involved shooting". There is never going to be way to plan for this 100%. You will never know what the subject is going to do. There is training for situations like this but but you can never predict the outcome.

That all being said, I don't know 100% of the facts so I can't say anything for sure. I was unaware it was that long of a stand off. The reports I read only talked about the officer that had been shot. I can understand not wanting to pay for his food and lodging while in prison. So I understand your point of view but I also know some people need a better state of closure. The only thing that would have stopped that was his mental state.

These cops need better technology to extract the trailer dwellers from their location. Personally I would have commandeered an excavator and just crushed this trailer to bits with the suspect still inside, option 2 is to drop down with a helicopter and latch on to it with cable and ascend to about 16,000 ft before detaching the cable and watching the trailer with the suspect trapped inside.
