@hawkdogie I totally agree, that would be amazing, from a boxing style perspective! However, that would be also a weight mismatch. At this period of his career, Bute has some difficulties to reach the super middleweight limit of168lbs. For that reason, soon he will fight in the Light Heavyweight division, probably in 2-3 fights. So, he will not get down his weight for Martinez. On the other side, that fight would be a tough one for Martinez, who is not a natural super middleweight.

@isocrate27 It's true, Bute's instinct is to hit to the liver, but that's what makes him already predictible. I'd be surprised to see Glen not beeing prepared for Lucian's boddy shots. He sparred with him, and he'll be expecting that. In Andrade 2 (just before the KO), Miranda and even Mendy, Bute had sent them to the floor with head shots after delivering repeated boddy shots. It's part of the combinations and possible solutions of Lucian's style when fighting someone like Johnson.

Up to round 8 in the Froch-Johnson fight, the scores were pretty even in my opinion, but Johnson got tired in the championship rounds which made the difference for Froch. I see the same scenario with Bute, not a Miranda nor Mendy scenario. If Bute can make Johnson chase him around for the 6-8 first rounds, that's going to be enough to prepare the late rounds. $ rounds, more than enough to work the body.

I think Bute will get a split decision in a close tough competitive fight with Johnson. Maybe even controversial but Bute definitely has the upper hand in his hometown. This fight would be a beautiful setup for Bute to fight the winner of the super six. Good vid !
