@niro25587 guinea pigs will do that when you first get them, mine did. They are probably a bit shy and scared and not used to you yet. Try to hold and pet them as much as you can so they get to know you better.

This makes me want to breed my own guinea pigs (instead of paying money to buy them from pet shops that sell them) to feed to my burmese python. Trouble is it doesn't eat that often, so I'd have to give them to the neighbours cat. Hell, if I starv them they'll start eating each other. So much for cute animals.

I've always wondered why they call medical test subjects guinea pigs? Can anybody explain that to me? Is it because they are used for that very purpose by the medical research?
