2 tours in Ft Irwin, spent almost 8 and a half of my 20 years there. It was home and I miss it very much even now. There is no such thing as an ugly sunset in the desert.

I lived on Wilderness Drive from 1988-1990. Miss it a lot. Didn't think I ever would but i really do. Fond memories of my teenage years.

Was stationed there for 6 years, although most of my time was in the barracks over in the old 1/52 & 1/63 quad. While I may have bitched and moaned about being there then I certainly can say without a doubt I miss the place as well the job. Nothing in the world better then being in the OPFOR (the old OPFOR at least when we were doing 14 rotations a year...)

when I got married they put me in the old officer housing on crackerjack ln. (not flats) man that house was comfertable, I'm in Germany now and I miss that house bad. got me in this appt. and I wish I hadn't taken that house for granted and I miss how everything on post was so close to each other and on one post and I had my own washer and dryer and the only babies I could hear cry were my own from time to time and the view from mt blackie but I digress.

those houses are still there and they are putting civilians in them to make money!

and they are cutting rent to those who will live there.

they built some really awesome enlisted house right next to them and will be doing them soon..but as long as they are making money, they are happy

well i lived thier for one year but now they built new housing in front of Lewis Elemantery and they just moved us they are moving everyone they are getting ready to tear them old housing down the new housing in Fort Irwin is beatiful.
