Sony TCM-747 cassette recorder, c. 1982 and AC bias

I have a sony tcm939 with full auto shut off. i also have a panasonic rq2102 with the full auto stop function has your machine got this?

@JDTV1995 It is most likely the take-up spool having not enough torque to take the tape up. With the rubber around it (on the inside of the machine), a good cleaning of the rubber with Windex or other ammonia-based window cleaner should good.

That's a very nice recorder. Sonys tend to be really good. I notice that's also a Sony cassette.

The recorder seems OK for speech, but as a music recorder what it played back was unintelligible.

This is a lovely machine, I like how the buttons protrude with a slight overlap from the side and the fact the buttons are light color instead of the usual darker color. Simple and functional.

That's a really nice casstee recorder, it has a really really good record quality, and the built in speaker sounds really good too!

OMG, that voice u recorder off YT sounds like one of my friends half-brother when he was younger and yesterday I actually had chicken soup! Very nice machine indeed! I should start recording music off YT too, but it won't be true analog sound like getting the vinyl or cassette of it though.

I like that true "One Touch" Record. Very nice. I used to hate having to depress both Record and Play, especially when they were not next to each other. You need to get a Sony digital camera since they don't screw up, LOL! I love my Sony DSC-S950 digital camera. Thanks for sharing this nice retro technology with us.

Nice Sony. Had not seen this model before. Nice demo too. I do remember have two Sony microphones like the one you used, they were pretty good too. Not many recorders with one button push to record.

maybe if we get enough ppl in this world to all complain to MS that both Vista and 7 suck then maybe they will rerelease XP but slightly tweaked to handle the higher RAM of todays PCs and more security updates and all. thats all they need to do. why make a whole new OS. hahaha Loved the burp on that recording, ive never belched or farted in any of my videos maybe when im making a randomness vid ill let a few of em fly.
