...with my assistance we were able to cuff him and get him in custody. This was my (former) roommate. If it were not for the tazer I don't know how the situation would have ended, it possibly could have resulted in deadly force. I thanked the officer that handled the situation well and the use was definitely justified.
@RagoBrother I believe a tazer would have saved a life because it would have most likely brought him down to his knees without the resisting and strain he put on himself causing his cardiac arrest. Tazers drop a subject and usually gets them to comply even if they are on drugs. Sucks the guy passed away, he didn't look old. Officers did what they had to do. I didn't see anything excessive except for the suspect's weight and probable drug use, which was most likely what led to his death. Never a good idea to fight the police though. okay... as a EMT.. i am looking at the condition of the suspect.. fire and rescue left the scene..... it suprises me that none of the officers there knew CPR.... they state multiple times that he wasn't breathing .... so it would be WISE to then administer CPR.. i totally have nothing against cops.. LOVE THEM.. they make my job as an EMT ALOT BETTER... but that is very sad to me.. that none of them would administer CPR..

I just hate how the only first response from EMS was an engine. I live in Cincinati and plan on going into Cincinnati EMS very soon, the station isn't far from this White Castle, I don't know why they didn't come within 8 minutes.
well.. the thing is.. the engine if you watch the video in the beggining was already on scene. and the ambulance was transporting a patient.. so as the engine i guessed marked up ready and returning they got a second ems call and turned around and responded since they just left. so yeah.. and ems wasn't requested till late in the game.

I'm sure one of them would have done it if they knew how, but not many police officers are qualified to administer CPR.. As for the rescue engine, if that was the company I was in we would have stayed until an ambulance arrived , most firefighters can do CPR
Actually, ALL police officers are certified to administer CPR and basic first aid. You can't pass police academy without obtaining CPR certification. Most are also certified MFRs (Medical First Responders). Also an 8 minute response time is pretty good, considering that most areas protocol allows the crew (fire/ems) to have up to 3 minutes to be en route.
I think they should be using tazers all over the us police departments.. This is a perfect example why... Look at all the officers who responded to that call when if a tazer was used... the other officers could have been protecting and going to other calls

...with my assistance we were able to cuff him and get him in custody. This was my (former) roommate. If it were not for the tazer I don't know how the situation would have ended, it possibly could have resulted in deadly force. I thanked the officer that handled the situation well and the use was definitely justified.

@RagoBrother I believe a tazer would have saved a life because it would have most likely brought him down to his knees without the resisting and strain he put on himself causing his cardiac arrest. Tazers drop a subject and usually gets them to comply even if they are on drugs. I have actually assisted an officer once where someone on shrooms that were later found to be laced with PCP, the officer, alone, gave chase and zapped him with the tazer dropping him to the ground...

Sucks the guy passed away, he didn't look old. Officers did what they had to do. I didn't see anything excessive except for the suspect's weight and probable drug use, which was most likely what led to his death. Never a good idea to fight the police though. You might think you're fighting one or two smaller cops but like a swarm of bees, you'll be surrounding by more cops within minutes. God Bless our officers!

Quick observation: that cop that was using two handed strikes with his baton, he was using an extendable PR24 and he probably had to use two hands to keep it from retracting. notice how he has both hands on opposite ends? i had one of those and i hated it!

No one can be higher in authority than anyone else. No ones got the right to fight like this in the street, no matter who they are, especially several police and a 350 pound black man on cocaine methanol and pcp. And, since he was on pcp and cocaine, he wouldnt have felt an awful lot, depending on dosage. Although, i clearly seen the police hitting that man with the end of the baton( a strike that delivers a crazy amount of pressure per square inch, capable of breaking bones) 70 times or more.

The night sticks are all that these officers had. There were obviously no tasers, and pepper spray isn't that effective with someone already fighting.
To all of you, why oi sit that you think officers can't fight back? This man was already fighting, why can't they defend themselves? The law protects you with self defense, and it does the same for cops. They are not racist, they are not bad. They acted in a professional way here. If you fight a cop, this is what happens.

okay... as a EMT.. i am looking at the condition of the suspect.. fire and rescue left the scene..... it suprises me that none of the officers there knew CPR.... they state multiple times that he wasn't breathing .... so it would be WISE to then administer CPR.. i totally have nothing against cops.. LOVE THEM.. they make my job as an EMT ALOT BETTER... but that is very sad to me.. that none of them would administer CPR..

I just hate how the only first response from EMS was an engine. I live in Cincinati and plan on going into Cincinnati EMS very soon, the station isn't far from this White Castle, I don't know why they didn't come within 8 minutes.

well.. the thing is.. the engine if you watch the video in the beggining was already on scene. and the ambulance was transporting a patient.. so as the engine i guessed marked up ready and returning they got a second ems call and turned around and responded since they just left. so yeah.. and ems wasn't requested till late in the game.

I agree with you that they should have done CPR, but chances are he would have died from the amount of drugs in his system. I'm sure one of them would have done it if they knew how, but not many police officers are qualified to administer CPR.. As for the rescue engine, if that was the company I was in we would have stayed until an ambulance arrived , most firefighters can do CPR

Actually, ALL police officers are certified to administer CPR and basic first aid. You can't pass police academy without obtaining CPR certification. Most are also certified MFRs (Medical First Responders). Also an 8 minute response time is pretty good, considering that most areas protocol allows the crew (fire/ems) to have up to 3 minutes to be en route.

heres the thing if that suspect would have gotten at the cop and killed him no one would care, but because they had actually fight back with him and use some force then all of a sudden theres a problem.... the guy was high on crack....and anybody that says this mans civil rights were violated need to look at the big picture he came at them first with force, not the other way around
