  • Hey guys, our headlining tour started today in Houston! We're playing an 80 minute set each night! Check out the rest of the dates through our website linked in the "video" information up top. Hope to see a lot of you at the shows! -Chris

  • These kids know their shit.

  • @scale the summit hey this goes to chris! I just saw you guys playing tonight in St. Paul and saw that you were using a blue semi-hollow body. What brand was that sucker?? It was BEAUTIFUL both sonically and visually, by the way!

  • @igordrackenwulf Hey thanks a lot dude. It was made by a luthier in PA, Artinger Guitars. Its definitely an awesome guitar, tone and beauty! -Chris

  • @igordrackenwulf That show in st paul was indeed incredible!

  • Chris' hair >>>>>>>>>>

  • No vocals?

  • when your easy 35 minute commute turns into 2 hours and 48 minutes, Scale The Summit does the trick.

  • Suburban prog metal lol

  • Press 2 for an epic syncopated headbang!

  • The best stuff when you're trying to study!

  • How do you guys write this stuff? I am having a hard time with prog lol!

  • adventure rock rules.

  • I still remember when I first found out about you guys. You were on Progressive Nation with Bigelf, Zappa Plays Zappa, and Dream Theater. I was at the Calgary show and after the inhumanely short set you were allowed someone in the audience yelled "That was fuckin' sick" and I fully agreed. It seems like you guys are so young to have the musical talent that you have. Keep up the good work and please NEVER add vocals. keep the music pure

  • Seeing you guys with PTH on December 22!!!

  • Chris, has anyone ever told you that you look like the bassist from ADTR?

  • Damn, how many strings if the longer-haired guitarist's guitar? It looks more than 8.

  • can't get much better than this

  • how old r yall??

  • No vocals necessary. I thank Danielle Powers for introducing me to you guys. I look forward to seeing you with Cynic and Three this November at the Key Club in West Hollywood!

  • Damn you guys are tight when you play live. Hopefully you make it to Australia one day....

  • Come to the UK!!!

  • I remember you guys from such a long time ago haha! I still have your penguins in flight shirt and the demo cd :] I was so happy I found it lol anyway take care!!

    -Nikki

  • gods

  • i seen you guys in toronto over a year ago, when you opened up for btbam, i must say you guys were fucking unreallll , straight blew my mind away, keep it up!

  • @scalethesummit consider doing a show with ZERO vocals, haha just song after song with some solo breaks and no introductions or anything...that'd be an experience

  • i love how there are vocal mics onstage and no one even comes close to touching them

  • i have to see u guys live sometime are u coming to philly anytime soon?

  • what bass is that?

  • @RJRomanBass Peavey Cirrus 6 String.

  • @scalethesummit what tuning do you guys play in?

  • tbh, you are probably the most talented group your age.

  • @Zarrey Thank you!

  • Dear Scale The Summit,

You guys are amazing! i heard about you guys in guitar world a couple years ago, but i just kinda got into this style of music myself. its definitely amazing in EVERY sense of the word! come to Ottawa IL you guys can crash at my pad!

  • @plygtr85 Thanks dude, glad to hear you enjoyed our stuff! Im sure we'll make it around there sometime this year or early next year while on tour so keep an eye out! -Chris

  • listening to this song makes me feel like i'm in outerspace or something lol. great song!

  • I'm living in TJ, is there any chance you'll be going soon to San Diego? Thanks for the great music.

  • @laurentpetitgirard We have a tour coming up in Nov, but not sure on the dates. Keep an eye out though!

  • I had never heard of you guys until last week. I just randomly bought the Collective on amazon.ca; cause I needed another CD to get free shipping lol. It turned out to be the most epic album I've heard in a while. It's got stylin' bass lines, badass riffs, epic beats, original melodies, and unreal solos. It's a perfect combo for anyone with ears. Come to Ottawa!

  • @SuperHarvestMan haha, well thats awesome to hear. did you buy it based on the cover art? I use to do that all the time, so just curious. Once again, really glad you enjoyed it! Appreciate it! -Chris

  • That is EPIC!!!!!

    U guys are fucking awesome!!!!!!

    I worship u guys!!!!!!!

  • You guys were great to meet! Chatted with you in Omaha, very, very cool! Come back to NE! There are people here who will be there for you!

  • what do u do with ur pick when u switch to fingertapping for such a long time?

  • @metallica04100 sometimes I will tuck it under a finger, or for the longer periods of time when I do multiple fingers, then I put it in my mouth. we have one song that is all tapping, in that case I put the pick on the ground. -chris

  • @scalethesummit Is that song "The Levitated" off of The Collective?

  • @nickfulenwider Yes sir, that is correct! _Chris

  • you guys are awesome, haha amazing musicians

  • Is your name inspired by Super Mario 64 whatsoever?

  • i cant stop listening to your music your guys are awesome

  • GOOD JOB DUDES! Because of you guys I'm experimenting with tapping now. Not solo tapping but for verses

  • @The0fail0wears0prada

They did the same for me. Since I looked up their vids my tapping has jumped to new levels, as had my curiosity for the technique and it's potential.

  • Just posted a video response for you guys! Sorry, I know it's not a cover of The Great Plains. But it is an acoustic fingerstyle composition I wrote for you guys to show you how much your music means to me. Been a huge fan since Monument when I first saw you guys right here in Houston!!! Thank you guys!

  • Wow.. You guys are simply amazing. When I listen to you guys I go into a trance. Music is just simply beautiful. Keep up the great work guys. Never stop playing music.

  • That bass is insane.

  • u guys rock. i look up to you guys so much. and the guitar player with the 8 string...are you my twin? if u get a chance look at my stuff and i swear we look exactly i mean exactly alike

  • You guys make amazing, inspirational music and I love it.

  • Most of you guys went to UNT right? Did that help y'all become better musicians?

  • @dotdashslashslash No, we all went to Musicians Institute in Los Angeles and like any college, as long as you learn what the teachers recommend you learn and require you to learn, you will get better! -Chris

  • If you just listen to this, you'd think it would be older guys who have been classically trained for their entire life. Watching this video kind of blew my shit away. You guys are incredible

  • @disgustipated07 Thanks a lot! Appreciate that! -Chris

  • @scalethesummit Definitely! I'm looking forward to your show in Mesa next week!

  • @disgustipated07 This is necesarry. Life feeds on life feeds on life feeds on life feeds on THIS IS NECESARRY.

  • @NoaOno you are wonderful for getting my username reference. :D

  • what guitar is that?

  • @TheTyrynir Sherman 8 String. -Chris

  • rocking that high ass guitar

  • Best part at 4:18... but its alll so good :)!!!!

  • You guys fuckin rock ! Come to Philly !

  • Great performance! I met your guitar player in Toronto at the Opera House after the show when you opened for BTBAM... That was the best show I've ever been to in my life! I'm pretty sure I communicated that somewhere in my incoherent drunken rambling.

  • great band and one of my favorites, but realistically they probably wont become too famous because most people dont appreciate music with no lyrics. So sad

  • Scale The Summit...Y U SO AWESOME?!

  • this is what music is all about great talented guitarists, bassists, and drummer. just jamming and blowing minds .

  • Australia wants this.

  • @JGill93 I concur

  • want to be in a band like this! you guys are so amazing :')

you're so unique compared to majority of the stuff that's around nowadays and I love it!

  • man, I missed you guys here in vegas w/ dream theater. Hopefully you guys will come back one day. Your amazing!

  • what i really like about djent bands is their approach to their fans. i feel like we can hang out and grab a beer any time :P hands down the best promotion "tactic" ive seen

  • @Neltheros A. Scale the Summit is not a Djent band. in fact, Im not sure how this new "sub-genre" even came aobut. For years bands have used open-note palm muted chords and now people wanna call them Djent bands. Its a joke. Please dont let this garbage spread any further. Unless were gonna come up with different names for pretty much everything weve ever known.

  • @Suckmyt0E5 i dont really agree. its not just the palm muted strings, when u hear a band is "djent" u know what to expect more or less. naming something just makes it easier for others to understand. anyway this has already spread quite a lot, i dont think its reversible. but u r right, scale the summit is not a typical djent band

  • @Suckmyt0E5 we're definitely not a Djent. we have zero of the features that we would need to be considered a Djent band. I don't get it either dude.

  • @scalethesummit "inspirationalcore" would be the best way to describe it xD

  • @scalethesummit Although, a good point was made. You do seem like pretty laid back guys. I missed you a couple weeks ago with The Human Abstract in tampa. But, July 28. St. Pete. State Theater. I would feel most privileged to purchase a beer for you fine gentlemen. Be there or be rhombus.

  • man i seen these guys open for btbam and cynic in Charlotte, i had no idea who they were and i was blown away. such a great band!

  • Chris, there's something I've been wondering about for a while.

Who do you consider influences, and who are some of your guitar heroes?

On Wikipedia I see Dream Theater and Cynic, which seems legit, but I'd love to hear some others!

I also just received the Collective, friggin' modern metal masterpiece!

It'll be a classic (together with Carving Desert Canyons) in a few years, mark my words!

  • Eargasm.

  • Just found this group out. Awesome stuff. Can't stop listening.

  • COOL! who are your main influences?

  • Awesome stuff reminds me of Guthrie Govan, can't wait to see you guys on Slaughter Survivors!

  • This was so magical live. So happy I finally got to see you guys :}

  • dang school gets in the way of see yall >:[

  • ugh so hate i could see you guys tonight

  • you guys are awesome! It's good to see that young people can play such good mature music. (I'm not old myself ahahah I'm 17) keep it up, you guys will go far! See you at the top!

  • Chris, I don't mean to bother you but could you give me some info on how you make your own guitars? I'm soon to start my first build and I was wondering if you had any tips? Maybe PM me on here or I could add you on FB or something? You're a big inspiration for me man, I love everything you guys have done.

  • @scalethesummit:

You guys are evidence on what we can do as a generation! Please continue to write great songs.

    And visit Denmark some times!

  • Ah this is like a breath of fresh musical air!

  • add vocals and become a better version of between the buried and me

  • @TheBushpig666 I like this band and all but better than Between the Buried and Me is really hard. Between the Buried and Me is just ridiculous on what they do.

  • Everyone always raves about the guitars (and they're great), but the first thing that stuck out to me was the incredibly tasteful drumming. Well done!

  • GODLIKE. the song was great too

  • pure talent at 4:23 and he is enjoying playing... beautiful

  • this is beautiful....seriously

  • You guys are awesome - i discovered you on a forum at progarchives and I am glad I did!

  • @scalethesummit I really love all of your guy's work, You ispired my guitar playing, And im now writing melodic and progresive music, But im curious to why most of your guy's videos got copy write :C Even if the videos didnt site shit, Its still publisity ;D But if they claimed it, Then fuck them, You should visit medford OR, That would be a blessing :P Love you guys.
  • you guys know you wreck shit right!? inspirationalcore lol

  • @dawnofascendacy haha, I guess we try?

  • @scalethesummit You know how you did the whales lesson for guitar wold? where could i find the tabs for that? You mention them in the video but i couldn't find them.

  • @dawnofascendacy these guys are not core at all, its prog

  • Nice to see a band that uses 7- and 8-string guitars live ^^ very few bands have musicians who can handle that. Oh and gotta love the 6-string bass :D

  • @mrbob2020 after the burial nuff said

  • You guys should seriously come to British Columbia!

  • going to cover this song with my band! its such a nice song to play

  • the world need more instrumental progressive metal

  • Sounds true to the album! I have been listening to you guys for the past year, and I am honestly looking to see you guys perform this Friday in Flint. It will be the first instrumental show I have been to since Yanni back in '95 hahaha, so I think its all uphill from here.

  • Scale the Summit, Cloud Kicker, Chimp Spanner and Animals As Leaders should do a prog-rock tour. I would not hesitate to go to THAT show!

  • @marsdemartini definitely

  • GINGER SHREDD!!!!!

  • i hope you sometimes come to serbia

  • @calemaric I hope so as well! keep an eye out!

  • most insane things about this video:

  • @JAB0NK0 Chris's shirt size

  • this kind look like in a wird universe what would be if Jonnas Brothers have talent

  • @Transferhell interesting

  • @CherubicGuardian did i said that they remind me Jonas Brothers? i guess i didn't...

  • @Transferhell yeah I was just being a dick, don't worry about it.

  • @scalethesummit This is a silly question, but i'm 17 and wondering how you managed to get this far so quickly! I'd love to start a band and play music but i don't know where to start! How did you start off man?
