The original ending is very good. So is this one. They just work in different ways. This one is better at tying up loose plot points, putting in some great dialogue, & stating what the whole point of the movie was. The other ending, the original ending, works better on an emotional level. It says, in a more subtle way, what the movie was about, & gives it a strong conclusion.

OMG! Titanic is my all time favorite movie. I can't believe I didn't know that there was an alternate ending. The thought never even occurred to me. I did like this ending. Although I think the one that the directors chose was a better choice. I'm a total sap for weddings. I also like that that was her last dream before she died. I am glad they chose the other ending. They chose "wisely" It is a fun thing to see though. I thought i saw everything there ever was about this movie,so this is a real shock to me. Really though,The ending chosen was much more simple and powerful. Elegant. For such an emotion driven movie,this was too contrived and messy an ending. It really would have hurt the movies simple message of the contrast between life and this horrendous tragedy with monetary squabling in the end.

All if these fictional characters were real as well as the diamond, Brock got a treasure worth more than that diamond - Jack's story, and at least he touch the diamond. And I know Cal would've smacked the living "ship" outta me if I told him that that diamond truly belongs to Jack, which it truly does especially since he is another heart of the ocean himself, and I ain't kidding for "ship." So to Brock, please do not try to get it; it's Jack's. Period. As for me, I'm looking forward to April!

In my opinion, the message could've worked. But this scene was horribly executed, the acting was way too dramatic (Especially Rose) and had emotions where they shouldn't be. Given the right directing in this scene, it might have actually worked in the final cut.
