The same exact thing happened to me just follow what I said below.

First start completely over. Then place the doors down while standing inside. Then follow the rest of the steps.

I copied this video exactly to the letter, had it working. I opened up the seal to the room for remodelling above and all of a sudden it stopped working. Now when i step on the switches from the outside, only the left door opens and all the torches get turned off. anyone have any suggestions???

@SDevolutionVIII Just tested it again by building the door setup at another location. I built the circuit at 0:44, stepped on the switches a few times, it worked 3 times, then the redstone torches got turned off and did not work even after building all over from scratch. I'm playing on a friends SMP server, dunno if that has something to do with it.

@47KGB You built the redstone back to front. just take out the block on the side and put it on the other side.

ive tried this and it works for a little but my circuits keep burning out. i have no idea why...  whats weird is that once it burns out, i cant give any power at all back to the torch that i burned out because it just burns out again no matter what.

Is it possible to alter the wiring to the lever so that when you pull it it instead locks the doors?

If you want a lever to close to doors instead of opening them, put it into a block with a redstone torch into the circuit:

Lever - Redstone wire - Block(Redstone torch) - Redstone wire

^that way it'll be active at all times, and turn inactive as you use the lever (closing the doors).

You can turn the power around by adding a block with a redstone torch to it :p

great tut but 1 quick tip, dont put pressure plates on both sides, if a monster sees you and you run for cover in your base he will open the door and try to eat you.. just keep the pressure plates on the inside, click the door to open it and the pressure plates close it automatically

@rafa3lico you may have to switch the repeater thing to the other side. my doors inverted and closed when i stepped on the pressure plate instead of opening so i reversed it and it works fine now

I'm trying the same process in a world in my friends server except I'm using stone pressure plates ans cobblestone all around and it isn't working. Do I need to use different materials?

You can use a repeater with a short (0.1 or 0.2 second) delay to be able to successfully get through the door every time.

Door is 6 wooden plank blocks standing up.

Google for Minecraft Recipes and you can see all of them.

@djAnakin Not possible sorry, because they would then be connected to the doors directly, so any circiut you made would not work. (short circuit)

@SuperStamos1 You must have the inverter torch (the one i put on the side of the block) on the wrong side. Try putting it on the opposite side and connecting it to the other torch instead.
